Serving up Success: Sandalford a Gold Plate Finalist x 8

Since opening the all new Sandalford Restaurant and Bar early this year the team at Sandalford have received compliments and superb reviews for their dishes and service, however it was the news they are finalists in eight categories of the auspicious 2021 Gold Plate Awards which really capped their efforts:

• Excellence in Health
• Licenced Dining Metro and Regional
• Best Pizza
• Licensed Casual Dining Metro
• Fresh Produce
• Family Dining
• Restaurant or Café within a Winery - Metro or Regional
• New Restaurant or Venue

Sandalford CEO Grant Brinklow said anticipation was high for the Gold Plate award ceremony later this year. “This is an amazing result for our business and is truly a huge credit to each and every one of the Sandalford team who have played role in this success across our functions and restaurant arenas and indeed our broader business operations. I’m firmly convinced the current Sandalford team is the most unified, dedicated and talented in our 181 history.”

Mr Brinklow hinted, however, that there could be even more honors awarded to the venue - “We are hoping to be a finalist in the Venue Caterers category – we’ve had the initial visit and will be judged again for the final decision. We are also in line for Prix D’honneur for Tourism Restaurant and Modern Australia having won each of those categories in three consecutive years in the period leading up to Covid19.”

Executive Chef Alan Spagnolo said it was thrilling to be recognised across so many categories. “We shall continue forward together as a team, aiming for the highest level of excellence, striving for consistency of our product offering and customer satisfaction.”

Sandalford already has an impressive tally of 26 Gold Plates bestowed in the 10 years leading up to Covid19, and this week it was announced the venue will once again host Western Australia’s Gourmet Escape. 

Grazie Mille presented by Essteele will be a celebration of WA’s Italian heritage saying ‘a thousand thanks’ for the culinary impact of the Italian community.
