Her description of our re-imagined Sandalford Restaurant and Bar experience was one to share, we felt!
"A WINERY'S RENAISSANCE"
"Sandalford Winery is going through a renaissance period right now with a super glamorous makeover and food to match. Alan Spagnolo is the chef in charge, which means that you're in safe hands. His food is elegant and impressive without being intimidating. The setting is great for a date, but just as inviting for families, plus it's open at night which is a bit of a rarity in the valley. The wine list is rock solid and available for tasting before or after you eat so be sure to treat yourself. Make sure to try their Sandalera fortified wine - it's to die for!"

Sandalford’s new Autumn 2022 menu launched this week.
It begins with hints of seasonal seafood of kingfish and squid, and a new hero dish of the Estate’s own figs paired with prosciutto and gnocchi fritti.
Mains continue the seasonal theme with Mount Barker chicken breast enhanced with earthy beetroot and ripe walnuts, market fish paired with the week’s most flavoursome vegetables and smoked pancetta, and mustard onions with thyme roasted mushrooms accompanying the Pitch Black Angus fillet.
Wood-fired pizzas and sides get seasonal touches too (who doesn’t love roasted baby carrots!) and the children’s menu now features comforting potato gnocchi with tomato sugo.
To complete the perfect Autumn meal, there are new desserts. The luscious figs re-appear in a vanilla port glaze with strawberry honey semifreddo, and seasonal pears are matched with Guanaja chocolate orange, coconut and lychee granita.
Sandalford Bar and Restaurant is open for lunch Monday through Sunday from 11.30am onwards, and for drinks and dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings until late.
