🍽️ Western Australia's Restaurant of the Year Summer Menu 🍽️
Long, leisurely summer days are here….and so is our tempting Summer Menu, launched on Thursday 11 January 2024!
Six months ago, Executive chef Alan Spagnolo and his talented team received the accolade of 2023 Western Australia Restaurant of the Year from the Restaurant and Caterers’ Association at their annual Hostplus Awards for Excellence. Two months later this accolade was followed by a further 4 Gold Plates for Dining Excellence from the Catering Institute of Australia.
Our Summer Menu is another success, and the perfect reason to dine out in the lovely Swan Valley during these perfect sunny days and tranquil evenings.
Authentic, considered dishes are constructed with Western Australia’s signature seasonal produce and presented with the world-class service synonymous with Sandalford’s culture.

When our Summer Menu is paired with current and vintage wines from our Swan Valley and Margaret River vineyards the result is a wonderfully exclusive cuisine experience.
To start, there’s the brilliant combination of whipped local honey and ricotta accented with saffron, tomato, garlic confit and presented with woodfired focaccia. Next there’s the amazing gluten free creation of pork, duck, macadamia and pistachio nut terrine served with celeriac remoulade and mustard fruits.
Another new summer arrival is the house smoked ocean trout entrée with horseradish crème fraiche, avocado, pickled cucumber and crispy chicken skin.
'Simply one of the best gluten free menus I have ever seen.
Highly recommended to locals and visitors.'
- Clare H
New main courses include everyone’s favourite protein, Dardanup Lamb rump, served medium with smoked labne, blistered tomato jus and summer greens (another excellent gluten free option).
For lovers of Western Australian seafood, Alan has designed a dish that harks to his Italian heritage which stars Shark Bay Venus clams, enhanced with spiced pork sausage, pastina, broccoli and pan jus gras.
Our State’s premium steaks – Harvey Beef and Albany Futari Wagyu – punch through the lighter summer fare, as do the 12 hour slow roasted beef short ribs.

The pizza oven is always popular during Summer, with our diners adding their own touches of white anchovies or other favourites to custom their pizza choices.
Both globally sourced and Australian cheeses appear on the dessert card, and the tempting summer treats of coconut and mango entremets, whipped lemon cheesecake with lemon curd, and the highly popular cinnamon doughnut paired with Valrhone chocolate gelato and dark rum cherries make choosing dessert take just that little bit longer!

Summer dining is the perfect time to try our dessert and fortified wines (the Botrytis Semillon is a standout) and, in addition to our extensive ranges of Sandalford’s own Swan Valley and Margaret River wines, we present global wines and champagnes to enhance your dining options.
The Summer Menu is showcased exceptionally in our quintessentially Sandalford dining experience, The Culinary Journey. This five course mini-degustation is available Mon-Fri and can be further enhanced by a matched flight of curated vintage wines.
With a children’s menu for the under 12s (plus a wine barrel themed outdoor playground they can explore!) your whole clan will enjoy a visit to Sandalford Swan Valley Estate all the more.
'What a wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion!
Food was top notch and fantastic.
We tried the chicken breast as well as the Dardanup lamb.
Both were excellent. Highly recommend.'
Greig V.
