New 1840 Range Verdelho recalls our Swan Valley origins

The superbly crafted 1840 Sandalford wine range has a new addition.  Winemaker Ross Pamment has created a fine Verdelho from some of the oldest grapevines at Sandalford’s celebrated Swan Valley estate.

The newly released 2022 vintage 1840 Verdelho draws on the rich, viticultural heritage of Sandalford, with grapes selected from old vines which have been tended for more than 50 years.

The resulting pale straw coloured Verdelho is a dry, richly textured and flavoursome wine with soft acidity lending to its long, sustained finish.

Sandalford’s 1840 Range pays homage to an older, gentler time - and the actual origins of the Swan Valley. It showcases the magnificent vines at Caversham estate and is named for the year Sandalford’s founder, John Septimus Roe, established the multi-awarded winery.

Current wines available in the 1840 range are 2020 Sandalford 1840 Chenin Blanc, 2022 Sandalford 1840 Rose, 2018 Sandalford 1840 Cabernet Merlot, 2018 Sandalford 1840 Shiraz plus the newly released 2022 Sandalford 1840 Verdelho.  

The 1840 range is vegan and vegetarian friendly, and is entirely hand crafted by Sandalford’s viticultural team at the Swan Valley Caversham estate.
