New Playground and Pizza so Perfect for Families
Sandalford Swan Valley Estate is more family friendly than ever before, thanks to a superb new children’s playground and that all-time family favourite; delicious, crisp pizzas served fresh from a newly installed Italian pizza oven.
The huge wood-fired pizza oven complements the extensively renovated Sandalford Restaurant and Bar which overlooks thick, 180-year-old vine trunks and the new, wine barrel-themed children’s playground.
Sandalford CEO Grant Brinklow said the estate had entered a new era since it reopened to the public after undertaking $3.5 million of enhancements during Covid19.
“We have second and even third generation customers who are delighting in bringing their children out to explore the changes we’ve made. The new playground, created from Western Australian timbers and centered around a large cubby house made in the style of wine barrel, has been a big hit with these young families and everyone has been highly complimentary in their reviews of our wood-fired pizzas,” he said.
Herbed focaccia bread and an array of pizzas created from ingredients such as locally sourced prawns, field mushrooms, charcuterie goods, exquisite local and imported cheeses are designed to please vegetarians, vegans as well as meat lovers.
As well as extended and enhanced restaurant, kitchen and dining areas presided over by new executive chef Alan Spagnolo, one of the major changes has been to the Sandalford Restaurant’s opening hours. In addition to daily luncheons, Sandalford are now presenting dinner at the Swan Valley Estate from Fri-Sun for the first time.
“Our food philosophy is to create a marriage of modern Australian and contemporary Italian cuisine where the fulsome flavour of WA’s phenomenal seasonal produce is enhanced by hand-rolled pasta, wood-fired pizza and artisanal products. The bustling, open kitchen creates delectable, healthy dishes destined to delight the most discerning diner, while the restaurant’s tranquil, leafy ambience issues an invitation to relax and indulge all the senses,” said Alan Spagnolo.
All new food and wine menus detail the extensive new dishes which include vegan, vegetarian and children’s options.
