52 Reasons for Sandalford's Gold Plate 2021 Success
Sandalford’s fantastic success at the 2021 Catering Institute Gold Plate Awards comes from the commitment of every Sandalford team member.
Last night, 52 staff saw the re-imagined Sandalford Restaurant & Bar receive Prix D’Honneur for winning Best Modern Australian Dining 3 years in succession, plus Restaurant in a Winery, Licensed Dining Regional + Metro and, most significantly for the 2021 culinary team led by executive chef Alan Spagnolo, Zoe Tomkins and Jenny Hvalgaard, Best New Restaurant in Western Australia.
Sandalford CEO Grant Brinklow said the four awards were sweet acknowledgment of the incredible effort undertaken by all employees of the Swan Valley Estate.
“These significant Gold Plates are real recognition of the incredible amount of effort, dedication, commitment, passion, work ethic, long hours, resilience and hard work generally from everyone who has been part of our united efforts on a day in and out basis in the past 6 months.”
Mr Brinklow particularly thanked the team members who are part of Sandalford’s combined food and beverage operations across their restaurant, functions and kitchen areas.

Sandalford’s restaurant was finalist in 9 categories this year, and the brand has an incredibly successful history in the 56 year old Gold Plate Awards.
Sandalford Swan Valley Estate has won at least 26 Gold Plates between 2008-2019 including at least one Gold Plate every single year.
