Hello [var]firstname[/var], Welcome to the July newsletter. Winter has well and truly arrived at Sandalford with some very frosty mornings for staff as they arrive for work. All our hearts go out to the guy's in the Vineyard both in the Swan Valley and Margaret River as the massive job of pruning the vines is still on-going. The cold is still having no affect on business however with plenty going on. Both the Restaurant and Cellar Doors have been very busy and are quite often booked out. The dining room has actually just received the news that it is a finalist in two categories of the 2008 Gold Plate Awards. The Events team have been busy with the forward planning of the 08/09 concert season. Our CEO has been on a whirlwind tour of some of our key markets in China and throughout Asia and as most of you would have heard we have just completed another telephone campaign to you our members. Over the past few weeks our CEO Grant Brinklow has spent some time visiting some key markets in China and throughout Asia. Meeting with our distributors he went out and did many trade visits to key restaurants and stores along with a series of wine dinners in the some very nice venues.  Family Fun Day at Sandalford for this years Avon DescentSandalford once again will be hosting the City of Swan Avon Descent Family Fun Day, on Sunday 3 August from 11am to 3pm. All families are invited to come along to this free event to watch the exciting final day of the Avon Descent, and take advantage of the fun and entertainment on offer for kids of all ages. Billy Joel to perform at Members Equity StadiumSandalford is once again very pleased to announce itself as the Major wine sponsor for the Members Equity Stadium. One of the first concerts we will be involved in is the Billy Joel concert. For any of you that maybe interested in going or would like some VIP tickets please follow this link for more information. All members would have recently received the News Flash announcing the John Mellencamp concert. The first concert sold out within days of release and a second concert was quickly announced and ticket sales for that too have been very strong. Anyone interested in attending should contact ticketmaster ASAP or if you are looking for some exclusive VIP tickets contact our events Manager Glenn.
Later this week you will be receiving the official announcements of two more shows. They will be the line up for the annual 'Day on the Green' which will be on the 9th of November. This promises to be another stellar line up of Australian acts. The other show will be an exclusive international act that will perform under the 'Symphony at Sandalford' banner and will be accompanied by a full orchestra. Time to dust off the Tuxedo's guys.
