Deep amber tawny.

Rich raisined rancio characters highlight this unique sweet white dessert wine.

Strong flavoured cheeses, particularly blue vein, dried fruits and nuts.

"RED 5 STAR WINERY 2014"

Sandalford is one of Australia's oldest and privately owned wineries. In 1970 it moved beyond its original Swan Valley base, purchasing a substantial property in Margaret River that is now the main source of its premium grapes. The wines are released at four levels, starting with Element, then the Margaret River Range, next Estate Reserve and finally, Prendiville. Exports to all major markets"

"RED 5 STAR WINERY 2012"
Sandalford is one of Australia's oldest and privately owned wineries. In 1970 it moved beyond its original Swan Valley base, purchasing a substantial property in Margaret River that is now the main source of its premium grapes. With most of the vines now 40 years old, it is no surprise that the quality of the wines is consistently excellent."

ACCOLADES

"A sepia toned offering comprising of a pedro blend, Sandalera is spun sugar on a raisiny spool. Powerful the trinity of rancio, butterscotch and toffee. Timbery oak features on the forefront providing a sweet cinnamon lift. Unapologetically upfront and 'in ya face', there is an interplay with a smidgen of young freshness. The brandy spirit is slipped neatly under the covers and rounds off this delivery superbly. Smooth like Egyptian cotton."
Jason Boudville, Spice, Winter 2009

"Lots of rancio nuttiness, with good fruit concentration and quite fresh for the style; the old material contributes to complexity. Rating 92"
James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion 2009, July 2008

"A classic, one of the great fortifieds of the country."
Stuart Gregor, SCOOP Magazine, Autumn 2007

"Medium to full red-purple, the complex, spicy fruit of the bouquet has clean spirit. The palate is complex, with spicy, liquorice and blackberry flavours, good length and good persistence. A blend of Muscat gordo blanco, shiraz and muscadelle."
SCOOP Magazine, Winter 2006

"This may well be Western Australia's best kept wine secret. WA for one reason or another, produced few iconic dessert wines but with this blend of Pedro Ximenez and Muscadelle grapes Sandalford has created a wine worthy of the numerous medals it has received. The nose is full of toffee and raisins and carries through into a wine tasting of rich toffee and dates. This is a classic "sticky", none of the old school tawny flavours here just sweet, sunny smoothness that encapsulates all four seasons of Western Australia in a bottle."
Brisbane Lawyer, 15 September 2005

"It is fortified like your average muscat or tokay and the result is an extraordinarily intense wine with malty, nutty toffee flavours and incredible length. This wins a trophy or gold medal every time it enters a show in Western Australia and is unquestionably that state's greatest fortified wine."
Stuart Gregor's Wine Guide, 2003

"Lovely fruity nose with some aged flor characters. Long sweet raisin flavours integrate well with the oaky wood characters and the firm acidity. Excellent balance, weight and complexity with a pleasantly dry persistent finish"
Best of Styles Tastings, Winestate Annual, 2001

"A powerful fortified with prune, chocolate and honey flavours. The sweetness is balanced by fine brandy spirit."
The Wine Magazine, December2000/January 2001

"Sandalford Wines have been adorning our tables since the 1840's, and the combination of experience and innovation places today's winery high on our list of reliable, premier local wines. During the last decade, both the whites and the reds have continued to improve several notches. We put this down to concerted energy going into the winery's cooler climate Margaret River operations, where fruit quality is second to none on a global scale. Sandalford is able to draw on a range of grape varieties from the Swan Valley and Margaret River. But it's the wines from down on the cape (Margaret River) that keep pulling in the accolades and the awards."
www.TheStarfish.com.au All the Best from Perth's West, Peter Rigby.

"Sandalford Wines is a true institution in Western Australia. Established in Perth's Swan Valley in 1840, there is a rich history to this pioneering company which was one of the first to recognise the potential in Margaret River, establishing a vineyard there in 1970."
Mining Chronicle, Karl Franzen, June 2011, Page 35

"Sandalford has well and truly leapt into the big league of premium producers in WA, having now completely transformed itself to a Margaret River wine operation. The Estate Reserve and Margaret River Range are entirely from Margaret River."
