Sandalford Concert Series - Frequently Asked Questions:

What are the Terms & Conditions of Entering Sandalford Estate

Please do not attempt to breach these guidelines as permission to enter the concert venue will be refused:

On arrival: If you arrive intoxicated you will be refused access. Please do not pre-load and spoil your day.

Anti-social or agressive behaviour will not be tolerated. Any person who behaves in this manner will be removed or handed to the Police. We will not allow the Concert to be spoilt by a minority.

Security

  • Prior to the ticket gate entry we are required to execute a full search of your accompanying bags, to ensure you are not in possession of Alcohol or other illegal items. Should these items be in your possession you may be refused access;
  • For Commercial vehicles it is a requirement of the driver/operator to ensure that there are no alcoholic beverages in the vehicle when entering Sandalford Estate. A breach of this rule may result in denied access; and
  • The car park and areas outside the concert green at Sandalford Estate will have an enforced liquor ban in place on the day of the concert. This simply means that it is a legal offence for Alcohol to be consumed or carried on Sandalford Estate during these times.

Alcohol

  • It should be noted that once you are ticketed onto our Estate you will have access to an expanded and extensive network of Food & Beverage outlets. We are in the business of delivering a pleasurable experience and do not intend to have this spoilt by long lines of guests waiting for service.
  • Strictly no BYO alcohol and no glass can be brought into nor taken from the venue. This is a fully licensed event will full bar service available. Patrons must observe and adhere to the local licensing laws and responsible service or alcohol practices.
  • Patrons who wish to consume alcohol must show, if asked by security or bar staff, photo id proving they are over 18 years of age.

Non Alcoholic Beverages

  • You can bring an unlimited amount of unopened non alcoholic beverages with you (no glass however).

Food

  • You can bring as much food as you can carry (no glass - this includes wine glasses, jars or any other containers or items made of glass). There will also be plenty of food available for purchase.

Bags & Eskies

  • Bringing a bag, pack or esky is handy but remember that it will take longer to get into the concert site as all bags will be checked for contraband including alcohol. (See above). Please note concert attendees attempting to bring non permitted goods into our property will be required to return these goods to their car or home. Waste bins will be available for items the owner does not wish to recover. Please note the venue does not take any responsibility for prohibited items.
  • Those bringing eskies into the VIP or Reserved Seating Area will be asked to store it in a designated location away from the seats to prevent access problems in the walkways and between rows of seats.

Furniture

  • All types of umbrellas are strictly forbidden inside the concert area. Low or sand chairs are recommended along with picnic rugs and cushion seating (please note high back chairs will be placed at the rear of the venue). Please consider other concert goers' comfort and viewing pleasure (Reserved Seating and VIP ticket holders have a pre-allocated seat ready for them).
  • Tables, tents or sun shelters are not permitted.

Camera and Recording Devices

  • Recording of stage performances using audio, video or photographic equipment is not permitted.
  • Only cameras that 'fit in a pocket' will be permitted - cameras with powerful zoom lenses will not be permitted into the venue.

Metal Cutlery

  • All types of metal cutlery are strictly forbidden to be brought into the concert venue. You can of course bring plastic cutlery (similar to what is used on airlines).

Smoking

  • SANDALFORD IS A SMOKE FREE VENUE. Limited designated smoking areas will be available however smoking is not permitted in any other area other than the designated areas.

Weather

  • Please note we play rain or shine. You may bring wet weather protection such as ponchos and raincoats however umbrellas are not permitted.

Children

  • All Sandalford events are licensed and as such children under 18 years who have purchased a ticket can only be permitted if accompanied by parent, step-parent or legal guardian. If not, they will be refused entry and will not receive a refund on the ticket.

Dancing

  • We encourage you to dance immediately in front of your seat and have a great time but please, please, please respect your fellow patrons sitting behind you or near you. There is strictly no dancing or viewing of the concert in the aisles. Many of the concerts held at Sandalford are energetic and the artist will often encourage patrons to get on their feet and have a good time. It is not to say that everyone will, however, we like to make patrons aware that this may happen. That notwithstanding we say again that guests are urged to consider their fellow patrons, and definitely not dance on seats, or in aisles.

When and how will my tickets be sent out to me?

Tickets will be posted out to concert goers several weeks after they have purchased their tickets from the Sandalford Wines online website. Please note that plenty on time will be allowed for the tickets to arrive.

Sandalford Wines will send these tickets via Australia Registered Post to ensure that all tickets are delivered and received with maximum security, reliability and convenience.

Please note that this information is only relevant to Sandalford Wineclub purchases only. If you have purchased tickets through alternative sources such as Ticketek, please contact them directly with any ticketing enquiries that you may have.

What are the seating arrangements?

Where can I purchase tickets?

For Sandalford concerts, we strongly recommend that customers purchase their desired tickets through Sandalford or Ticketek. Booking fees and postage costs will vary from ticket agencies.

What happens if I lose my tickets?

Sandalford Wines Ticketing policy is as follows:

There is no refund or replacement of lost, stolen, destroyed or not received via post for all General Admission tickets.  Please contact original place of purchase directly for any lost ticket issues (Reserved Seating or VIP only).

 

Please treat you ticket like cash - it is irreplaceable.

Are ticket refunds available?

Tickets are non-refundable except in the case of concert cancellation, and then tickets are refundable at the original point of purchase only.

What time do gates open?

Duran Duran - Saturday24th March 2012  

Gates Open 4.30pm (for General Admission & Reserved Seating ticket holders)

What is the average interval between acts?

The average interval between the different acts is approximately 30 minutes but can vary from concert to concert.

How long before the end of the event will the main bar stop the service of alcohol and close?

Generally  the bar is closed at the beginning of the final act, however,  it may be closed earlier subject to particular event conditions, and the licencee determines it needs to close earlier in order to maintain the integrity of the liquor licence conditions and at the same time maintain Sandalford’s long standing and impeccable reputation in relation to responsible service of alcohol and the associated issues.


What time will the concert finish?

The finishing times for concerts will differ from show to show.  The approximate finishing times for events this season are as follows:

Duran Duran Sunday 24th March 2012 - Approx 10pm conclusion time

Cold Chisel Saturday 7th April 2012 - Approx 10pm conclusion time

Seal Saturday 14th April 2012 - Approx 10pm conclusion time

Where can I park?

SANDALFORD ESTATE, SWAN VALLEY

General Admission, Premium General Admission and Reserved Seat  parking is reached from the main entrance into Sandalford via West Swan Road. Getting into the venue to park & getting out of the venue at the conclusion of the event will take time, and patrons should allow for up to 45 minutes travel time. Upon entry you will be directed into one of two car parks by parking attendants.

VIP parking is accessed via a separate entrance to the Estate from  Harris Road (off the new Reid Highway extension).  Upon entry into the venue you will be directed to the VIP and Reserve car park.

Parking OUTSIDE the venue, on verges etc… is PROHIBITED parking marshals from the City of Swan will be present at ALL events and fines of $60 will be issued to those parked in prohibited areas (which are clearly marked out).

A tow truck will be onsite and used in the case of cars parking on neighbouring driveways and blocking acess to their properties.

 SANDALFORD ESTATE, MARGARET RIVER

There are 2 main roads into the property:
     1) Metricup Road; and (Please Note for the Upcoming Stevie Wonder Concert entry to the venue will be reached off Metricup Road only)
     2) Caves Road

Off Metricup Road there are 3 entries into the Estate:

A. All VIP ticket holders need to access the dedicated VIP entrance road by travelling east to west along Metricup Road (we recommend guests enter Metricup Road from Bussell Highway)– the VIP entrance is the first entry road as marked (on the left) into the Estate;
   
B. All General Admission and  Reserved Seat ticketholders travelling by bus and or car directly from Perth, Mandurah, Bunbury, Busselton and Dunsborough are recommended to also travel east to west along Metricup Road (we again recommend guests enter Metricup Road from the BussellHighway) – the entrance for these persons is second entry road as marked (on the left) into the Estate; and
   
C. All General Admission and Reserved Seat ticketholders travelling by car from Yalingyup or anywhere north of the Estate should enter Metricup Road via Caves Road (turn left off Caves in Metricup) and then travel west to east along Metricup before turning right into the Estate at the entrance to the Estate lying immediately adjacent to the boundary with Evans & Tate.

Off Caves Road there is 1 entrance into the Estate: (This entry will not be in use for the Stevie Wonder conert)

D. All General Admission and Reserved Seat ticketholders travelling by car from Margaret River or anywhere south of the Estate should travel south to north along Caves Road before turning right into the clearly marked entrance into the Estate.

 

We strongly encourage patrons to use public transport for all events.

Can I get public transport to the event?

COLD CHISEL CONCERT - SANDALFORD WINES ESTATE SWAN VALLEY - Saturday 7th April, 2012:

Please be advised the the Midland Bus Company will be our public transport service provider for the Cold Chisel concert at Sandalford's Caversham Estate, Swan Valley, and will operate from a number of locations around perth. Please see below for more details.

Midland Shuttle Bus
A shuttle bus departs Midland railway station every half hour from 15:00 and return buses after the concert all for the cost of a gold coin donation

SANDALFORD CAVERSHAM ESTATE, SWAN VALLEY

YES.  There are free shuttle buses that will run to and from Midland Train Station. The shuttle buses will depart every half hour from Victoria Street, adjacent to the train station, 30 minutes prior to gates opening – the last shuttle will run two hours after gates open.  Post concert buses will return patrons to the train station.

Please note: that any private charters or other modes of transport will have to be booked on your own accord.

Where are the limo, bus and taxi drop off and pick up areas?

SANDALFORD WINES ESTATE, CAVERSHAM, SWAN VALLEY

The limo, bus and taxi drop off and pick up areas are all accessed from the entrance off Harris road (via Reid Highway).  Upon entry the vehicles will be directed by parking attendants to the relevant drop off areas.  All pick up areas will be in the same location to the area that you were dropped off.

The limo, bus and taxi dorp off services should drop off patrons at their designated ticket entrance, which can be found under the "Where can i park" link above.


How long will it take me to enter AND exit the venue if I bring my car?
When you chose to use the parking facilities at the venue on show day you should be mindful of the fact that entry to the venue can take up to 30 minutes due to the volume of cars entering the site at one time.  Leaving the venue will also take sometime, again due to the large volume of cars exiting at the same time.  We ask you to be patient and follow the instructions given by the parking attendants/ traffic controllers. Please be aware that exiting the venue can take from 60 to 90 minutes and we STRONGLY reccomend the use of public transport (free shuttle buses from Midland Train station or Buswest Charter bus transfers) as the quickest, most convenient and safest way to and from the venue.
How far is the walk from the parking areas?

For General Admission parking the distance to the venue entrance is not far and will take about 10 minutes to walk.For VIP parking a short stroll through the vines will have you at the VIP entrance in about 5 minutes.

What types of facilities are available for disabled people?

There are parking areas designated for disabled people, upon entry into the venue just look out for the signs directing you to ACROD parking.  Please display your ACROD pass and parking attendants will direct you to the relevant parking area close to which ACROD patrons can enter into the venue (close to the VIP entrance).  There are plenty of disabled toilets available throughout the venue.  Please note however that the concert is held at a winery and there are some sloping and uneven areas.

Is food and drink available to purchase at the concert?

There is a wide variety of catering options available on site on concert day.  For more specific information on exactly what will be available please contact JD's Fast Foods via their website HERE.

The bar offers a wide selection of alcoholic beverages and soft drinks.

What type of alcoholic beverages can I buy at the venue?

As an Award Wining winery  a fine selection of Sandalford’s wines from Margaret River will be served in the VIP area and sold across the main bar in the gerenal admission area.  There is also a wide selection of beer, RTDs and soft drinks to cater for all tastes.

Are EFTPOS/ cash out facilities available?

There are EFTPOS facilities located at the two end tills of the main bar - these tills also have cash out facilities.

Are there plenty of toilets?

YES! There are ample numbers of portable toilets situated throughout the venue.  There are generally no queues and the toilets are regularly serviced to ensure cleanliness.

Is there first aid assistance available at the event?

YES, there is a first aid tent and ambulance on site which is clearly marked out.  Please ask any concert staff and they will be able to direct you.  Please consider your own safety and that of people around you during the event.

What happens to lost property?

If you find or lose something during the event please go to the first aid tent for further information.

Please note lost property and uncollected cloak room items will be kept for 3 months only.

Will it be very loud during the concert?

YES, this is a live outdoor music event so the music will be amplified.  However sound levels will be kept strictly within the guidelines laid down by the City of Swan.

Will there be bag checks upon entry and exit to and from the venue?

YES, any prohibited items will be confiscated.  Patrons can place any confiscated items in a ‘cloakroom’ situated adjacent to Gate 1 and these can be collected at the conclusion of the event.

 

Can I have lunch in the restaurant or visit the cellar door on the day of the concert?

Generally the Cellar Door will be open from 10am until 3pm on concert days;  Please contact the Restaurant directly (Swan Valley only) on (08) 9374 9301 to enquire about lunchtime dining on concert days.

For Cellar Door patrons please note that parking will be further from the main building than usual. This parking, although further away, will facilitate your easy and quick exit from the venue once concert patrons start arriving.

Is there any shade?

There is little shade on the concert green as most of the shows begin late afternoon.  Neither umbrellas nor sun tents are permitted so it is recommended that you bring hats, sunglasses and sunscreen for protection.  On particularly hot days mist tents will be available and there will be free drinking water stations located throughout the concert site at every concert.

Can I purchase concert merchandise at the venue?

Yes, there will be a selection of concert merchandise (cds, t-shirts, programmes etc…) available for sale at most events.

What happens if it rains on show day?

Events at Sandalford are outdoor events and therefore can be affected by the weather.  The stage is fully covered, however the general admission and reserved seating areas are uncovered.  The concert will go ahead rain or shine but we advise that you dress with the appropriate weather gear for the day of the show.

 

n.b. In cases of extreme weather the show will only be cancelled if the conditions are deemed dangerous.

Are children allowed at the concert?

YES, however children under 18 years of age, who have purchased a valid ticket, will only be allowed into the concert site if accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. If a minor is not accompanied by their parent or legal guardian they will be refused entry and will not receive a refund on their ticket.

Children aged 2 years and older require a valid ticket. Children under 2 years of age will be allowed entry FOC. Please note it is strongly advised not to bring young children to the concerts as due to loud, amplified music.

What clothes are appropriate for a Sandalford outdoor concert?

The event is situated outdoors so comfortable clothes and shoes would be recommended.  There are no prescribed dress codes but be mindful of the weather and dress accordingly. Shirts and footwear must be worn at all times inside the venue (n.b. due to liquor licensing clothing which is bearing patches or insignia of any outlaw motorcycle gangs are not permitted to be worn on the premises at any time).

Can I smoke at the event?

All events at Sandalford are  SMOKE FREE EVENTS. There are limited designated smoking areas available which will be clearly marked out.  Smoking is not, however, permitted in any areas other than these.

Can I take alcoholic beverages OUT of the venue?

No, alcoholic beverages cannot be removed from the venue.  The removal of liquor from the venue is strictly prohibited by the Director of Liquor Licensing.

Can I bring food and drink to the concert?

YES, you can bring your own food and sealed water/ soft drinks ONLY.  Bags are subject to checks and any prohibited items will be confiscated.

What CANT I bring to the concert?

NO GLASS (this will include any food items in glass jars) and NO ALCOHOL.  Alcohol will be available for purchase inside the venue. 

Please note that the following items are also prohibited: tables, bbqs, umbrellas, wine spikes, metal cutlery, tents, sun shelters, professional cameras, video or sound recording equipment into the concert venue.

No animals (except for guide dogs) will be permitted into the venue.

Do I need to bring my own chair?

If you hold a General Admission ticket it DOES NOT include a seat, and it is recommended that you bring your own low back chair or picnic rug.

For  VIP, Reserve A, Reserve B, Gold Reserve and Silver Reserve tickets a dedicated seat IS INCLUDED .

What can I bring to the concert?

You can bring your own picnic rug, hamper/ esky, jacket, sun hat, sunscreen, sealed plastic bottled water/ soft drinks.  If you are seated in the General Admission area it is recommended that you bring low back chairs / picnic rugs only.  High back chairs ARE permitted but will be positioned towards the rear of the venue.
