A month long festival in October 2010 – this year celebrating its 21st Anniversary!!!

This October visit Perth’s Swan Valley and experience the gorgeous landscape, conversations with winemakers, unforgettable meals, world class musical performances, must do activities, and of course, the taste of the wines.  All of this and more is on offer at  ‘Spring in the Valley 2010’ – this year celebrating its 21st anniversary!!!!

The Swan Valley is Western Australia’s (WA) oldest wine region and has earned its reputation as Perth’s Valley of Taste.   Situated just 20 minutes from the Perth CBD, the Valley seduces visitors with a rich fusion of wine, food, art, scenery and nature. You can experience its many wonders along the award-winning Swan Valley Food and Wine Trail – a 32 kilometre loop taking in more than 150 attractions including wineries, lively breweries, fine restaurants, bustling cafes, distilleries, shops, accommodation and roadside stalls selling fresh local produce. The Swan Valley is a world of surprises just minutes away from Perth’s doorstep.

Spring time is definitely the best season to visit the Swan Valley. The festival calendar for ‘Spring in the Valley 2010’ offers visitors a vibrant mix of entertainment, the arts, live music and local produce every day of the month, at more than twenty different venues across the region.   The venue operators have planned a feast of premium activities and world class offerings that will spoil you for choice.  And all of this will be available in an environment that is family friendly, premium, stylish, world class and free of any undesirable element.

Sandalford Wines (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuLabJFSZX8) is of not only one of the oldest wineries in the Swan Valley (established in 1840) but only one of a few in Australia that has more than 100 years of history.  In fact the establishment of Sandalford Wines coincided with the birth of Western Australia’s world famous wine industry. Today we are extremely proud to be one of the country’s oldest and largest family owned winemakers.

The Year 2010 is a very special one in the history of Sandalford Wines. Not only does the company this year celebrate its 170 year anniversary, it also marks our 40th year as wine producers in the famed Margaret River region, considered by many as one of the world’s greatest wine appellations.

Today Sandalford Wines is recognised as not only one of the leading wine producers, but arguably the states best wine tourism operator.

During the October month long 'Spring in the Valley 2010' celebrations, it will be business as normal for both Sandalford's Cellar Door Operations www.sandalford.com/Cellar-Door/swan-valley-cellar-door.html and our twice GOLD PLATE winning restaurant (www.sandalford.com/Restaurant/sandalford-winter-menu.html).

As is normal every other day of the year, guests will be welcome each day to enjoy wine tasting exclusively at the Cellar Door and browse some of the wonderful merchandise sold therein.

For those who prefer to enjoy a world class meal along with Margaret Rivers finest wines, our restaurant will be open from midday to 3pm each day, however please note that advance bookings on tel 9374 9301 are essential.

Throughout the 'Spring in the Valley 2010' festival period (with the exception of the three concerts below), buses/coaches or unusually large groups of people will definitely NOT be accepted at Sandalford Wines under any circumstances whatsoever.

Further to this, we strongly discourage those persons who are not genuinely interested in positively contributing (for the sake of themselves and those around them including other guests as well as Sandalford's staff) to a safe, enjoyable, rewarding, memorable and most of all pleasant visit to Sandalford Wines (all in a family friendly environment at which children will be present in the company of their parents/legal guardians at all times) – NOT to visit us during 'Spring in the Valley 2010'.

Sandalford's management will actively exercise its right to refuse entry to our Estate to any persons not prepared to comply with these reasonable conditions.

To that end we are committed to ensuring our visitors and guests have a wonderful time during this month long festival, and to ensure it is so, throughout we will also be strictly enforcing our duties and responsibilities associated with the responsible service of alcohol. There will be a ZERO tolerance to any sort of anti social behaviour.

In addition to the normal Cellar Door and Restaurant offerings available at Sandalford during 'Spring in the Valley 2010', we have also scheduled two separate masthead concert events which between them are expected to attract in excess of 20,000 people to 'Spring in the Valley 2010'.

The details of these are as follows:

written by Lou, July 31, 2010

Hi,

Because this years spring in the Valley was a month long event i was just wondering when the normal dates for it will be, like last year it was 10-11 October. Will it be the same for 2010 except it will be 9-10 or have the dates changed completely?

Regards,

Lou

The format as well as the style of offerings available previous years Spring in the Valley festivals is 'dead and buried'.

'Spring in the Valley 2010' will be a month long celebration of all that is great about the Swan Valley. This does not include anti social behaviour nor excessive alcohol consumption leading to intoxication which plaqued the event in years gone by.

During the October month long ‘Spring in the Valley 2010’ celebrations, it will be business as normal for both Sandalford’s Cellar Door Operations and our twice GOLD PLATE winning restaurant.

Throughout the ‘Spring in the Valley 2010’ festival period (with the exception of the Simply Red, Pat Benatar/The Bangles and Robin Gibb/Bonnie Tyler concerts), buses/coaches or unusually large groups of people will definitely NOT be accepted at Sandalford Wines under any circumstances whatsoever.

Further to this, we strongly discourage those persons who are not genuinely interested in positively contributing (for the sake of themselves and those around them including other guests as well as Sandalford’s staff) to a safe, enjoyable, rewarding, memorable and most of all pleasant visit to Sandalford Wines (all in a family friendly environment at which children will be present in the company of their parents/legal guardians at all times) – NOT to visit us during ‘Spring in the Valley 2010’.
