Cold Chisel Reviews & Comments
• Cold Chisel (Written by Melinda Gorringe, 29 November 2011)

The Positives:

The traffic signage even before entering Margaret River, directing people to the venue was an excellent idea as was the signage closer to the venue;

The charter bus from Margaret River arrived on time;

Even the 40 minute wait in the queue to get into the venue was fun as everyone was in great spirits and we heard the end of the sound check - BONUS;

The security staff on the gate were extremely courteous even when searching my handbag;

There queues were not too bad for food and drinks;

The toilets were clean and fresh even later in the evening;

Everyone in the crowd seemed to enjoy the show and there were no incidents that we were aware of;

The venue was spectacular;

And last but of course not least Cold Chisel were AWESOME - thanks to the band for a brillaint 2 hours of music that my husband and my adult children and myself will never forget.

The Negatives:

The main negative for the 5 people in our party was the charter transport.

The issues were numerous:

1. Boarding of the coaches in Margaret River was badly organised.  No one knew which bus to board therefore people were milling around not knowing what to do, jumping the queue etc;

2. The bus did leave Margaret River a little early - we were at Sandalford by 4:20 and the gates didn't open until 5pm although this wasn't too big an issue;

3. The driver of bus 61 was very abrupt and gave us all what could best be described as a speech before we got off the bus at Sandalford insisting that we leave the venue as soon as possible after the concert so as not to miss the bus and to be sure to baord the same bus as we came to Sandalford on.  Our party of 5 did just that only to be told that there were insufficient seats on bus 61 for our return trip and some of us would have to get off the bus and catch another one back into town thus separating our party.  My son, son-in-law and I reluctantly complied leaving my daughter and husband on bus 61.  They then had to wait nearly 10 minutes in Margaret River as I had the apartment keys.  When I rpotested to the driver that he was breakingup our group and that we had travelled to the venue on bus 61 and boarded it to get back as instructed BY HIM he was exttemely rude.  Clearly he did not check whether the passengers on the bus to come back had tarvelled up with him as there were at least a dozen other people on the bus we caught back who were also supposed to be on bus 61 but were displaced due to lack of seats.  This was a VERY disappointing end to a great evening.  I realise that the chartering of buses was done by the charter company not Sandalford Estate but perhaps in future a system similar to that implemented by Leeuwin Estate (a ticket with a bus number on it issued at tiem of booking) can be looked at for future events.

Perhaps a better selection of wine could be offered in future.

All in all it was a wonderful evening and we look forward to the next event at Sandalford Estate be it in MR or the Swan Valley.

• Cold Chisel Concert (Written by Peter White, 28 November 2011)

Fantastic concert, the energy and performances was just brilliant, the venue was great but after forking out $350 for VIP tickets and finding that I had to trek to the back of the field for a 20 min line up for a drink and a similar trek (but no waiting)for the toilets, other than that and some drucken clown causing fights, it was great.... and i'd do it all again!

• Cold Chisel Concert (Written by Teena Gardner, 28 November 2011)

What a night - definately something to tick off the bucket list!!

Big thanks to Grant and Bec for taking care of us - it really made the night special.

Great venue, great atmosphere, great friends, great food and wine - what a way to spend the weekend! And one of our guests caught Barnesy's head band - straight to the pool room with that one!

Thanks Sandalford for a well put together evening.

• Cold Chisel (Written by Anthony Prindiville, 28 November 2011)

Well Done guys on such a great concert.

Everyone should be proud of their performances - Cold Chisel were brilliant, the crowd were exceptional with no aggro and the event staff did a great job....only feedback for improvement would be more toilets in the paddock where everyone was lining up pre show (seeing the women squat in the bush in high heels was funny, but probably not amusing for them)

Well done Sandalford - keep doing these events

• GREAT CONCERT (Written by SUE NAYLOR, 28 November 2011)

Great concert.  Unfortunately numbers were too great for the catering.  It didn't spoil the night, but for the future, double the facilities would be a good idea.

• CHISEL (Written by Andrew Hughes, 28 November 2011)

EXCELLENT concert,

Thank's Sandalford, this concert was up there with the best we have been to.

Cold Chisel have still "SO GOT IT"

Great venue.

See you again.

• Queues from bus (Written by Laura Wenman, 28 November 2011)

Hello....To start with, we had a fantastic time...Its a beautiful venue. Thankyou...My only gripe was the extremely long queue after getting off the buss...which took an hour. There werent any toilets so everyone was peeing in the vineyard (wash those grapes!!!!) and the end bush. The crowd were very relaxed so waiting in the queue wasnt too bad...but needs to be fine tuned to avoid it. I also thought the queues to the drinks was too long and the fact that there was a limit to what you could get made it a pain as you knew you had to get back in it again....Apart from those two things it was a great night.......

What can you say - a great performance - so much energy, enthusiasm, a sensational voice to enjoy - a great night.  We were lucky with the weather - it could of course, have been better, but also could have rained.  Nevertheless, a great night and congratulations to everyone else involved.  KD Your voice is truly amazing and the band, fantastic

• KDLang Sandalford (Written by Joy Wilhelm, 7 November 2011)

First visit to the concert venue and certainly wasn't disappointed at any of the night, rain even stopped before singing began.

Have always enjoyed KD's CDs but to hear her sing live was fantastic, she is a beautiful soul and her voice is a great gift which she loves to share with her audience. The band was amazing and a great combination with KD, A memorable evening altogether.

Santana Reviews & Comments
• Santana (Written by domenic montanaro, 20 March 2011)

I have most of Santana on dvd, and cd music, and seen him back in the mid 1980's in the entertement centre in Perth, firsty, my wife andf I paid for VIP tickets and top price, and felt we were well treated since we walked into the tent, where good amount of food and drinks were supplied. Secondly, going to our plastic seats , 5th row from the front and sitting with people we did not know, and being able to compare knowledge of Santana was good fun, and being able to sit, or stand and head bang with a bottle of wine, was even better. But to see the Santana Band from what ever angle you like and being fixed on his guitar playing, and being able to here the timing in the whole band, and listening to almost all of his old tunes, and to here his wife on drums, and to soak it all in and then go back to the tent, and have a bit more to drink and or have coffee and cake, was our best experience that counted the most. BUT WHAT SPOILT THE NIGHT WAS TO HERE A WINGER SAY THAT SANTANA SHOULD OF PLAYED MORE SONGS OF HIS NEW ALBUM. TO THAT WINGER, SANTANA'S EARLY MUSIC IS WHAT MADE HIM, AND HIS 1999 ALBUM, SUPERNATERAL, IS WHAT MADE HIS RETURN TO STARDUM. I VERY REGULAR STILL PLAY THAT ALBUM AND RATE IT AS ONE OF HIS FINEST, AND THAT NIGHT HE PLAYED A FEW SONGS OFF THE ALBUM. IF YOU WANT TO HERE HIM PLAY AN ALBUM WITH ALL COPY SONGS, AND NOT KNOCKING SANTANA, THEN YOU SHOULD DO THE READ UP AND WHO THE ORIGINAL ARTISTS ARE AND LISTEN TO ORIGINAL TRACKS, BECAUSE AS AN EXAMPLE, CREAM SOUND BETER WHEN YOU LISTEN TO THEM PLAYING THERE OWN SONGS. HOW MANY ARTISTS THAT TRY TO COPY SANTANA SOUND AS GOOD AS SANTANA?????????????????????????????????????????????????

I will keep my concert tickets along my others, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, BB king, Dire Straits, ETC< ETC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will be back to Sandlefords th only way, VIP

• Sanatana Concert - Absolutely Superb (Written by Andy Swainson, 18 March 2011)

What a fantastic show at Sandalford Estate last week.Saw Santana in NZ about 8 years ,was fantastic then however like a true great wine he and his band improve with age.Looking forward to his next visit to Perth - lets hope it is at  Sandalford  in the Swan Valley !!

• Great concert - shame about the view. (Written by John , 18 March 2011)

The whole of the evening was, as always at Sandalford superb with the one downside being the view from the higher numbered chairs in the front (few) rows. Very little vision of the band from behind the keyboard player had to watch many of the band on screen only, and a significant imbalance of the spread of the band on the stage - 80% to stage left. Poor stage management I'm afraid. Everything else .......  great! Looking forward to the 2011 / 2012 season.

• The Sandalford Experience (Written by Ed MacNeill, 14 March 2011)

What a magnificent night. The Venue and the entertainment.

We flew all the way down from Kununurra not having been to Sandalford beforewasn't to sure what the setup would be like. THe seating the stage, the food, drink moving people in and out was eleven out of ten. Well doen Sandalford.

The entertainment was second to none. As a guitarist it was Guitar Heaven. John Butler showed Australia is still producing world class standard musicians. Then Santana was just amazing. It wasn't just Carlos I realised you see when go to a Santana concert but the "band" Santana. Mind you Carlos' playing was everything I wanted it to be. Those long sustained notes and the guitar sound of Carlos - fantastic.  I can't recall seeing a concert before which was this good.

• What a difference Love makes ! (Written by Ade n Heather , 14 March 2011)

We saw Carlos & his band just over 3 years ago in Hong Kong and he seemed tired and jaded and I was most disappointed. But last night - Wow what a difference love makes! Thanks to Cindy the man was back to his brilliant, vibrant, magical best - and we all felt the Light and Love. Personally I was glad he played the old stuff - it's his best and still brings a tear to the eye, and a swivel to the hips. The evening too was perfect for a concert - warm and balmy - just wonderful. Very different to the cold October concert for Simply Red - and much better value than the meagre 90 minutes Mick Hucknall deigned to grant us. This time we sat in general admission on foldaway event chairs and we had as good a view, if not better than from the more expensive plastic chairs at the front. John Butler was excellent on his own and also later with the band - a special moment indeed. Transport in and out of the carparks was far better than we expected - it seems a bit of a lottery but we had no problems. Finally I'm not sure where I found these fotos, but it seems Sandalfords want us to post them even though they didn't permit us to take them. Ah well!  More of the same please Sandalfords - excellent work - just ease up on the silly rules - we're all grown-ups now - and we'll come back again and again.

• amazing concert, well organised (Written by Lesley Whitton, 14 March 2011)

Would be nice if Sandleford arranged a free shuttle bus for those who book into hotels within the swan valley to get to and from the concert.

• SANTANA (Written by Carol Rowe, 14 March 2011)

Wow.. absolutely fantastic both John Butler and the master himself Carlos...also what a wild filly his new wife is on those drums! Venue amazing. Weather perfect...caught the bus to and from Midland..much easier than driving there trying to get in and out for those who had to wait! The most amazing aspect other than the music for me was the open and vibrant spirituality coming from them all. Cant wait for us all to glow with the same love!! Keep up the great work. Thanks to all

• Santana and John butler concert (Written by Micky Ellis (Mrs), 14 March 2011)

What a fantastic night.  I bought my first VIP tickets as a birthday treat for hubby who has been a Santana fan for over 40 years.  The VIP parking was well organised and proficient.  The entry to the venue was prompt and the service friendly.  The food, drink and staff in the marquee were good, and plentiful on all counts.  The complimentary bottle of wine to take to our seat was also appreciated.

As we had front row seats we were in 'guitar heaven' and enjoyed John Butler who is always exceptionally good, and the legend that is Carlos Santana.  How can you describe perfection?  Or music that just reaches something way deep down inside of you?  We had a fantastic night, enjoyed a nightcap after the show, and easily exited the venue.

Negatives?  The couple who were obviously well over the limit and aggressive, bordering on violent with each other.  Security intervened promptly and removed them before it turned any uglier.  Oh and my sore hands, from all the clapping!  Fantastic effort Sandleford on a job well done.  Oh, and Carlos.......I love you man.

• Great venue, music and organisation (Written by Tony , 14 March 2011)

Congratulations to everyone involved in putting this event together. The weather, venue, organisation and the music were a memorable combination. The highlights for me included

- no congestion at the entry gates, friendly security and ticketing staff ensuring everyone flowed through into the venue, and plenty of room to move around once inside.

- minimal food and drink queues. Some queuing is to be expected at this type of event but overall was much better than previous experiences at Sandalford and elsewhere

- the music itself (which is what we had all come for) was excellent. However, I would have hoped for more of Santana's recent music. There was too much of a similarity with his last performance in Perth. When you come back to see a performer again, it is reasonable to expect significant new material - he has plenty to choose from!

- I've had some very long waits to get out of the car park at Sandalford in the past - this time, I was out of the gate in about 10 minutes and free of traffic queues on the road within a further 5 minutes.

• Santana (Written by Tracy , 14 March 2011)

Loved the show, Carlos and his band...WOW felt the love!!  and John was brilliant, wonderful to see him on home soil

Love the open concerts at Sandalford, however this time we felt the General Admission layout wasn’t the best.

Only one walk way created, which lead directly to the VIP/Reserved seating area there no additional walkways provided in the general admission area.

In previous concerts, walkways were created in the general admission area that were parallel to the stage which allowed concert goers easier access back to their seats – we noticed a number of lost people, who ended up sitting by themselves!   Also having to walk over people wasn’t the nicest feeling!

Also having to have your bags re-checked when leaving.... never had that happen before?

Apart from that loved it

• Santana and John Butle (Written by Genny , 14 March 2011)

How do you define such an experience.  The man is still supreme after all these years !!!!!!!!!!!!! John Butler just gets better and better and Santana draws you in in only the way he can .............light and love to all.

My only downer of the night was the layout for seating.  It would have been better to have walk ways between groups of seating.  I understand that this has been the case in the past. It makes it a hell of a lot easier for people to find their seats and friends in the dark.  I watched one poor lady wander around for 20 minutes trying to find her place again and eventually just seated herself in a spot because she couldn't find her friends again.

• Santana & John butler (Written by robert,Liz & hannah reed, 14 March 2011)

Confirming everyone,s positive comments on John and Santana, was glad he played more old material which my teenage rock guitarist wanted to hear.

Not so at his last concert at Burswood. Have been a fan since Woodstock. Last concert at sandalford for me was Steely Dan (at last, in WA) but the exit turned me off the venue. Decide to risk it by car again, excellent entry and exit. Some cars jammed up not knowing where to go, Maybe more direction within the parking area.

Just one bad note, having not taken alcohol decided to share a glass to match the vibe. Took a chance on Late Harvest with only price and name listed.I buy drinkable wine under $20. This was $24 diluted syrup which would suit a coca cola drinker looking for a sugar fix., Truely yuck, sadly. Not so Corazon Espinado, Guitar Heaven and John Butler. Thanks for a great one.

• Santana & John Butler (Written by Rosemary Honeycombe, 14 March 2011)

Well Yet again a fantastic night with great friends. I have been to Sandleford before for many concerts (only last week for Buble' Fantastic) and for wine tasting  and will do so again and again as it is so relaxing and I feel quite at home there. Santana was fantastic and for his wife she is such a great drummer and what a match made in heaven they were all so great to hear and enjoy with great friends at the best venue I think in Perth. John Butler is great as always and what a treat for him to be with Santana. i was with my nineteen year old son and my friend was with her 72 year young Dad so it goes to show it is great venue and concert for all ages. We all danced the night away.

Best of all wishes to all of Sandalford Staff and workers to make the place what it is today. Great for the Swan Valley of ours.

Glitch is another lane to get in and out from off West swan Road would be beneficial, but we had no probs in or out.

• SANTANA CONCERT (Written by David Thomson-Harry, 14 March 2011)

It would appear that many others who attended the Santana concert had a very different experience to us.

Firstly, I was really dismayed to find that having attended the venue by motorcycle in order to avoid the chaos that has ensued at previous events where the public was left without staff support to negotiate exiting the parking areas, we were confronted by the compulsory, but unwarned of requirement to place our helmets in a secure area.

This was allegedly done for security reasons as helmets could be used as weapons! Give us a break- which car driving nazi truly believes that I am going to use my $800.00 helmet as a weapon? This was made even more absurd by the fact that there was no security checking of individuals who, if they were intent on causing a disturbance, had every opportunity to enter the facility with any number of weapons hidden on their person.

Discrimination? Yes I think so, and based on what evidence?

Interestingly patrons were at liberty to have bottles in their possesion-surely a far more likely cause for concern than someone carrying a helmet.

With respect to the sound quality, or lack therof, who determines that the decibel level at concerts be less than I regularly subject my ears to in my car? Surely as adults we can make thast choice for ourselves, or is this yet another manifestation of the Australian nanny state mentality where faceless others presume to know what is best for us? No doubt working in the same 'think tank' where the helmet safety initiative wwas penned.

For me, a potentially great event ruined by the overzealous interventions of those who shall no doubt remain faceless lest we see their quaking, fear filled beings in the flesh and be able to voice our concerns directly!!

• Carlos Santana (Written by Lynne , 14 March 2011)

Santana was wonderful as always. I too was disappointed he didnt play from his latest album.... While my guitar gently weeps ...would have been cream on the cake. We ran as soon as it finished and drove out with ease and couldn't beleive our luck. That's always a deterrent from attending anything at Sandalford. Please enlighten me as to why we were searched for alcohol on our way OUT. What next?

• santana concert (Written by james michael, 14 March 2011)

I am not a regular concert goer, and I don't even drink and I am just writing to say I was very impressed by the experience. Sandalford did a great job organising the venue and the email sent to use a few days before the event was very helpful. The venue was beautiful and relaxing, so much better than indoors on a chair. I was amazed at the quality of the sound - it was great from where we were aboy 80m away from the stage to the left.

The only hitch to our concert experience is that we were queing at an entrance not realising it was not the box-office. This entrance looke no different in general appearance to the other entrance which had the Box Office. There should be signs and announcements made to people queqing alerting them to go to the Box Office to collect their tickets.

• Santana Guitar Heaven Tour (Written by george wilder, 14 March 2011)

Our first time at Sandalford Estates, and we were extremely impressed, well done everybody fabulous venue...  Fantastic Concert too, the best I have seen Santana outside of the Albert Hall.

• VIP PARKING (Written by JOHN HODGINS, 14 March 2011)

Great night and fantastic event and venue. Can you please rectify VIP parking vouchers with Ticketec who insisted on 1voucher for our 10 tickets. The VIP sales data clearly stated VIP parking included and as we had clients travelling in seperate vehicles 1 ticket was not going to be reasonable. Ticketec maintained one per transaction but this was not in the sales data nor does it make sense.

Can I suggest that presentation of a VIP ticket is all that is required for VIP poarking and you save the prinying costs of parking vouchers.

• Sanatana / John Butler concert (Written by Richard , 14 March 2011)

It was a wonderful night last night - from the perfect weather to the fantastic music of Carlos Santana and John Butler.  We hadn't seen Santana for a number of years, but he can certainly still play and is quite relevant in the world of music - a living legend.  John Butler was simply amazing and was a great bonus to the show.  He played with a lot of passion and technical virtuosity that was mesmorising to listen to.  Overall an amazing night - as well as leaving the venue a little early so as to avoid the major traffic (experienced last year by us) - planning is key...

• Santana and John Butler (Written by debbie harris, 14 March 2011)

This was our first Sandalford Concert but it won't be our last. It was a beautiful location, stunning weather and fantastic concert!!!  Getting in and out was no hassle and we are looking forward to our next visit xxxxx

• Sandalford venue (Written by John Catlin, 14 March 2011)

It was our first time to this venue for a concert. It was a perfect evening in every way. The organisation was superb - entry, food vendors, drinks, facilities etc.

There was room to picnic and enjoy the show from general admissions area and the stage, sound and video screen were excellent.

Great advice about parking at Midland Station and taking shuttle.

The concert was mellow and strong and very professional and the 2 1/2 hrs was well worth the cost. Congratulations.

• Santana and John Butler (Written by Del , 14 March 2011)

Great night of music and well organised venue but can we not have bright lights flashing towards the audience. I  had to wear sunglasses for most of the concert!

• SANTANA (Written by HEATHER KELL, 14 March 2011)

One of the best concerts I have ever been to. Simply amazing.  The set up, loos (!), food, everything was amazing.  Feel it is much better organised than Leeuwin, as you have more than just one gate, and the bag checks were efficient and quick.  Lovely setting, will definitely come to another one.  Getting in and out was easy.  Very impressed.  The concert was just awesome, and what a buzz for John Butler to play with Santana.  His wife is absolutely amazing too.  Well done!

• Santana/ John Butler (Written by John , 14 March 2011)

Great night, John Butler always wonderful, and great to see him get up and play with Santana, very special. Great sound, great band but Im with Paul, Id have liked to hear songs from the new album, there was only the overplayed Sunshine of Your Love. To name a tour after an album and play only one song is a bit unusual !!

Not Sandalfords problem, and Im sure the hardcore Santana fans were happy to hear the older songs mainly.

Leaving the car park is always problematic, and although it seemd like a long wait, we were well on our way home less than 30 mins after the concert finished.

• Two of the best ... Santana and John Butler (Written by Christine King, 14 March 2011)

Another fabulous night at Sandalford ... John Butler followed by Santana - you can't get more perfect than that.  And as usual, driving in and out of the venue was trouble free.  Definitely a night to remember.  Chris and Trev.

• Santana - still wow! (Written by Lyn , 14 March 2011)

Santana was still wow after seeing him for the first time 35 years ago! Sandalford venue great in every way ....except for the terrible wait to get out! Surely since you've had & plan to have many more concerts at this wonderful venue something could be done to open up another exit so that it isn't so chaotic at the end of a great night!

• New Album songs (Written by Paul , 14 March 2011)

Great night coupled with brilliant weather and location and though I sincerely like Santana's music, I (paid) and attended last night to mainly hear the music from his new album of which there was (I stand corrected) perhaps only one? Very disappointed in that respect. Oh, and the normal whinge about the price of beer :)

• Santana and John Butler (Written by brenda , 13 March 2011)

Had a wonderful night grooving with the master and our very talented John Butler  well done people very slick operation hassle free.

Michael Buble Reviews
• Michael Buble (Written by Judy , 12 March 2011)

Michael Buble - You were sensational.  Great Comedian, Singer, Entertainer, the night was over before you could blink!  Would love to have had another two hours of entertainment from such a wonderful star!  It was a shame I had to put up with the screaming bimbos in my ear which drowned out two of your songs when you came up into the crowd - away from the "drunks" at the front of the stage.  Oh to take away the alcohol and thoroughly enjoy your entertainment.

Sandalford - wonderful venue, toilet sign could be a little smaller and not so in your face!  Buses from Midland a great idea. But the carpark area and trying to leave this venue is a nightmare!  Get the exits and the staff more organised and it would be the best venue for concerts in the whole of Perth.

• MB @ MR (Written by niall baron, 11 March 2011)

Had the most amazing time at sandleford margaret river. could never do this ent ever again without spending the extra few dollars and going VIP, well worth the money. The food, drink and service were world class to match the entertainment. Leewin had better improve on what theydish out as there is a "new kid on the block with a shiny new bike". Natualy seven are out standing performers and deserve to show the word their talents. Michael Buble, what a star, a performer, entertainer, a gentleman. It was hard to see him leave the stage. He didnt just sing, it felt as if you were having a conversation with him. We look forward to seeing him come back again. Niall and Linda Baron.

• Michael Buble @Sandleford (Written by Margaret , 11 March 2011)

Thank you thank you for such an ejoyable evening at Sandleford. As a special treat my Husband purchased VIP tickets for the concert on Fri 4th and it was definately money well spent. We were treated like royalty, the staff were second to none, the food was gastronomical and the atmosphere electric. Michael Buble of course was absolutely fantastic, great music and a fabulous entertainer. Never having heard of Naturally7 before we had reservations but after the first minute of their music we are hooked. We cannot fault Sandleford in any shape or form even the walk through the vineyard in high heals didn't dampen my spirit. Yes we will be visiting again. 10 out of 10 Sandleford

• Disappointed at the end of the night by Sandalford (Written by Brendan , 11 March 2011)

Michael Buble was sensational, as well as the staging and sound production.  We did pay for VIP tickets, so granted we had great seats.

Our only disappointment was with Sandalford, who provided a bottle of wine as part of the gift package for the VIP section.  However, they failed to inform anyone that this bottle had to be consumed during the show.  So when leaving a wonderful night, our un-open bottle was confiscated from us by security and binned, stating it was a "responsible service of alcohol" issue.

I fail to see how this is the case.  Is it more responsible for me to have to consume an apparent gift bottle of wine, prior to driving home?

If this was the case, they should have informed everyone to drink as fast as possible before you leave the premises.

Disappointed Sandalford.

• Michael Buble Concert - Swan Valley (Written by Chris Rtshiladze, 10 March 2011)

The concert was fantastic - great venue - great food and wine, outstanding service, Sandalford staff especially.  We were lucky to have Visa VIP tickets so enjoyed a very special dinner, concert and afters.  My one big disappointment was a change of seating arrangements which left my friend and I separated by almost a 2 metre aisle - after booking the tickets in May 2010 we were very disappointed we couldn't enjoy the concert together.

• Michael Buble (Written by Belinda , 10 March 2011)

Michael Buble as a performer is excellent, he is a natural at tantalising the audience, Naturally 7 wow they were great. Who was the first singer, couldn't hear or see her at all. All I can say about Michael's performance as it should have been longer.

The great thing about an outdoor concert is sitting on your blanket, eating your picnic and having a wine or two. The negative is not being able to see the stage, we had high back chairs (8) in front of us, the security didn't bother to make them sit down or move to the back even when we complained, what is the point in having rules if you don't stick to them. The stage was far too low for sitting on the grass, unless you were a lucky VIP or purchased a seat, their area was huge, maybe you should consider only selling enough tickets to allow everyone to see. Even the music up the back was hard to hear. I agree with a previous comment you should somehow alter the gradient of the slope allowing everyone on the grass views.

Purchasing wine/beer was so easy considering the amount of people there and the toilets thank you thank you for catering for women and having plenty. Wish we had packed some wine in our esky as it wasn't even checked......

• Bar closure (Written by Tina , 9 March 2011)

Michael what a STAR.  Loved the whole night at Margaret River - Sandalford.  Wasn't going to make a comment I just enjoy reading others take on the night BUT have to say that through no fault of Sandalfords nor the Margaret River region the alcohol was stopped at the request of MR MICHAEL BUBLE.  So before making comment maybe you should check facts first.  Anyway had a great night and will definately return to such a well run event.  Great job Sandalford!!!!

• Michael Buble, Margaret River 2011 (Written by Helen , 9 March 2011)

Me and my hubby absolutely loved the whole entire experience from start to finish. The new sandalford location was awesome and gave us a good excuse to stay back down in margaret River for a few days! (not that we usually need an excuse)

It was nice that so many people were up dancing and enjoying themselves, personally we didn't see any drunks so can't comment on that one!

It would appear the lots of people are complaining about different things, the pricing, the seating, the crowds...well....its an outdoor concert with thousands of people....what do you expect??? if they weren't happy with what they could see, they should have arrived earlier! And personally i dont think the prices of drinks were too high, especially for the quality!

I do have to agree about the high back chairs though, it was supposed to be low backed chairs and anything else was sopposed to be placed towards the back which was never enforced which was a shame for those sitting behind someone in a high chair!

• Crowd control...well done
• Bar access....busy, but thats what you'd expect
• Quality of sound...excellent
• Ease of Access....great

At the end of the day, Michael Buble was brilliant...a real crowd pleaser and much funnier than i thought he would be. As for Naturally 7, they were even better than i anticipated. I had seen them on the net and was really looking forward to seeing them live. I can't believe they have their own concerts all over the east Coast and are not doing anything here in Perth...such a shame, i'm sure they'd be a sell out for sure! Hopefully they'll come next year.

Really looking forward to the next Sandalford concert...probably get VIP next time though!

• MB in MR (Written by D ., 9 March 2011)

Wow!!! oh what a night.  Absolutely amazing, very well organised and staff did a fantastic job.  It was absolute genius to have so many toilets!  I take my hat off to you.

I was blown away by naturally 7, they are so very talented and got the party started.

Oh Michael what a true entertainer!  I can't remember ever having so much fun.  He really did make you forget about the thousands of people there, it felt so intimate.  How will I ever be able to attend another concert and it hold up to that fabulous night?

I am very glad that we were dropped off and picked up with my 75 yo M-I-L and her 77 yo sister as the line to get in was scary - but you are going to get that with 12000 people.

I was embarrassed by the drunken behavior of some and thought that it was a very wise move to close the bar when you did. Why people forget that wine and sun dont mix I'll never know.    I am also embarrassed with some of the petty comments above, perhaps they should look into indoor concerts in the future.  Any event has inflated prices, that is just the way it is.  If you are unhappy about paying more for the convience of not having to bring food then pack a picnic. It really is as simple as that

Whoever finds your staff needs a medal, what an incredible, professional and considerate group they were, and they handled themselves very well.

I thought the emails prior to the event were great, I was prepared for everythng.  I didn't bing a camera (thought we werent allowed) so I don't have any photos to upload.  Pitty too we had great seats.

I will be back and paying for premium seats again.

Well done!

• MB 1st Concert @ Swan Valley (Written by Rosemary Medrala, 9 March 2011)

Question. Does anyone at Sandalford ever read the above comments? If so, where is your right of reply? I read the same criticism after each concert, yet:  your wine is STILL ridiculously expensive, the sparkling wine being of very inferior quality for the price; you continue to suggest public transport to and from the venue, (to what end, reading all of the above?); you don't appear to address the problems of drunken louts, restricted viewing for general admission, the positioning and marshalling of directors chairs and the sector of the audience who wish to talk continually throughout the proceedings.

However, this WAS the best concert I have ever attended at Swan Valley, for the following reasons. We drove in, easily, at 5pm, went straight to our seats, (not VIP but excellent position), purchased wine, again with ease, ate our picnic, thoroughly enjoyed the high quality of the guitar-playing duo, Naturally 7 and the star of the show. There was little noise in our area during the performance and no drunken louts.  We exited in record time! The wardens have most certainly improved.

I see that, even though their enthusiasm has been somewhat dappened, patrons continue to promise their future attendance, so ARE you going to address the above concerns of your faithful? They deserve it.

• Michael Buble Sun 6th Mar (Written by Tracy Gunning, 8 March 2011)

Fantastic concert, Michael Buble was just brilliant and the venue totally suited the show. The crowd were wonderful and cheered and applauded when my boyfriend proposed to me which truly made our night. Sandalford is a special place now and we will definately be back.

• Michael Buble Sandalford Concert (Written by Mary-Rose Campbell, 8 March 2011)

First of all, Congratulations on your first concert at Sandalford Winery, Margaret River.  Generally everything was very well organized.

As with any new event, there is always room for improvement.

The entry to the concert was a bit chaotic, with a mixture of cars and busloads arriving together. The pea-gravel pathway was very dangerous especially as there were quite a few elderly patrons.

It would be great if you could increase the grade of the slope slightly which would greatly improve visibility.

I don't understand why the bar closed so early, but maybe that was a good thing.

The bus transport to and from the event was superb. We had Dave Williams as our bus driver and he was a wonderful asset.

The mix of food outlets seemed good and the toilet facilities seemed adaquate.

If I had my time to choose again, I would have paid for gold/platinum tickets, mainly for better visibility as I am a very short person.

Having said all that I/we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and wish we could go again next weekend !!!!

Great job, guys. Thank you.

We had a fabulous time. It was the first time we have been to a Sandalford concert, it was so professionally organised!  Queues moved, venue was AMAZING, facilities great and Michael Buble - awesome!!

• Michael @ Sandalford Swan Valley (Written by Wendy , 8 March 2011)

WOW.............

Fantastic concert yet again,,,,,,,,,,,Naturally 7....................AWESOME.. ( where can I get a CD? ).................

Michael BUBLE.........................MORE AWESOME (..ring me Im free!!! )

Just wished I had bought VIP tickets to be more "up close and personal".

Well done to the parking/traffic attendents, excellent job under trying circumstances............

Definitely agree that "leaving music" would be a good idea when a show ends to hopefully calm the mad rush to get out, and lids on the wine bottles..............too many accidental spillages.

Id say the best location I have ever seen a concert ...............Well done Sandalford Swan Valley  xx

• Michael at Sandalford (Written by Nancy Peters, 8 March 2011)

Brilliant, Brillian, Brilliant. Seeing Michael made me wish I was old enought to have seen Dean Martin and the Rat Pack in Vagas. His band was incredible, support act just amazing. I loved every second of it.

• Michael Buble - Margaret River (Written by Ray , 8 March 2011)

Great concert, poor location. Bring in the bulldozers before the next event and shape the ground so that everyone can see the stage.

As mentioned a thousand times above, getting out was a disaster but credit to everyone who waited patiently listening to Michael Buble CD's in the car, almost like a second concert in the car park.

As for the price of wine and champagne, what a rip off. Element Classic White $10.40 at a local distributor, how much at Sandalford, $24 warm and without a lid, next ime I'll find a way of sneaking some in I think. I wonder how much damage I can do with a lid from a wine bottle, don't tell Qantas..

Enough cynacism, great show. Loved it.

Rumour is that 'Prince' is being booked for next year. Start saving for those VIP ticket.

• MB and Naturally 7 (Written by Ange , 8 March 2011)

What excellent entertainers these two acts were. It was a real surprise seeing Naturally 7 because I just didn't know what to expect, but they were fantastic. And of course MB was worth the money. Great show!

• The 'boobs' Sunday Margaret River (Written by Sue Jackman, 8 March 2011)

Yes I too booed about the fiance and now he has met me 'in person' love him even more! What a great performer. Yep more songs would have been great, but the enjoyment he was obviously having and crowd interaction gave the concert a special 'intimate' touch. Stage being higher would have been better but otherwise the stage set-up was fabulous. His final song ending with him offering his voice unassisted by microphone, I thought was really special.

Both support acts were brilliant - who was that fist singer - she was great. Naturally 7 - want a DVD to show my son - they were brilliant.

We got the bus had to queue, but hey you have to queue in the city for all sorts of things so it didn't worry us at all! Met some lovely folk on bus no.9. Bus driver told us bus didn't leave until 11.15 so we wondered why everyone was rushing off as soon as MB finished! We sat and ate the rest of the picnic we brought with us and enjoyed the bottle of red we purchased earlier. Even some 'canned' music after MB would have been better than nothing, but why not at least that! We were a bit shocked when we wandered over to the bus area at 11.00 to find only one bus left! At least it had waited for us.

Not hard to 'stock' up if you wanted as plenty of warning about bar closing. Just as well too, as lots of folk obviously had a bit too much. We drank, but we ate and were merry but not stupid. We had a wonderful time. The staff were all great, toilets clean, easy to find. More lighting there and on walkways definately needed. We didn't have any trouble getting to and from our spot, but we were fairly close to the designated walkway in general admission area, which was the best place to be as we were all having lots of fun.

Surely one of the bars in Margaret River could have applied for a late license!!! Several of us would have like to have had a debrief drink before heading home, but all was closed.

All in all we had such a great time and I would definately attend another concert at Sandalford. Well done guys.

• Micheal Buble Margaret River (Written by Danny Connolly, 8 March 2011)

What a fantastic evening!

From the food at the beginning in a beautifully layed out Marquee, to the friendliness of all staff that were encountered throughout the evening, and then to the entertainment of course, simply remarkable. All aspects were an incredibly high standard, and am so glad could be a part of what was an incredibly successful first concert at the Margaret River Winery.

One great example was in the VIP marquee when the sun was shining on some of the ladies, some Sandalford employees moved large pot plants to generate some shade. Simply classy as was the entire event.

Micheal Buble was great, and Naturally 7 were fantastic. Couldnt believe my eyes when they came out, and were the same group I saw playing in Washington Square Park in New York years ago.

All in all, thankyou

• Michael Buble' Sandalfords at MR (Written by Lauren , 8 March 2011)

One night, one man, sooo many fans ! Congrats to MB for bringing a smile to all those hearts! :)

We followed the rules,no audio, no recording devices and bring your low back chairs.

They say seeing is believing, well sadly we couldnt see a thing and thats because we followed all the rules.

Honestly this is the only complaint ,WE COULDNT SEE!!! Although the audio wasnt too bad but would have enjoyed a little more volume, some speakers up the back as well perahps.

There is now a sad face etched on my heart ! not so many thanks to the event organisers.

Please next time you want to fill up your general admission set it up to everyones advantage not for first in best dressed ,so to  speak.

• Michael Buble Concert (Written by Nicky Griffin-Appadoo, 8 March 2011)

It was brilliant.  I loved being able to move about, eat, drink and dance.  I hate being confined in hard plastic seats at other venues, this was so much more enjoyable.  I went with my husband a couple of colleagues from work and met up with several friends at the venue. It was so much fun and the music was world class. I was so impressed that we could hear him singing acapella at the end with no microphone. What a feat.

• Buble @ Swan Valley (Written by Stephanie , 8 March 2011)

Concert on Friday night was wonderful!!  Now I am a big fan of Naturally 7!  Enjoyed Buble and made a fan out of my husband and friend who thought they were going to be bored all night.

Loved the venue, plenty of restrooms, and good selection of food.  We were in platinum seating with a wonderful view!  Found wine prices a bit high, but unfortunately that didn't deter folks from getting extremely wasted.  Very impressed with the security and how quickly they jumped on issues!  Exiting the parking lot was a bit chaotic but with all the emails it wasn't a surprise, so no complaints here!

Loved the 2nd stage for Buble to get closer to those of us not in VIP.  Also appreciated Naturally 7 signing autographs and taking pictures.  As an American, it was great to get to chat w/ them:)

Have already recommended your venue to friends for future shows!  Great time!!

• Michael Buble (Written by Jamie , 8 March 2011)

We had a fantastic night, were kept informed via email in the lead up to the concert of directions, parking and our responsibilities by the organisers, frankly they could not have done more. Parking and leaving the venue was a breeze, as the organisers stated it could take an hour, we were 15 minutes getting in and out in 10. As to the prices of alcohol, don't agree with it at all but, try going to the cricket or footy and getting it cheaper. Those prices should have been expected. Or you could choose to refrain from drinking alcohol in protest!

The highlight of the night was to see Michael come up through the crowd and sing on the central platform. This sent the crowd wild and definitely conveyed what he said in the beginning, he is not who the media convey him to be, dressed up in his suit to just sing songs, he was there to entertain us. He invited everyone to get up and dance and by us doing so, he enjoyed the evening as much as we did and as those around us did. We went with the expectation of getting into the swing of things and dancing and by the nights end could not have danced anymore. For those that were annoyed by this I suggest you go to the opera next time or save some bucks and get the CD as you were at the wrong show , you were definitely in the minority. To see the sea of people dancing and moving was extremely memorable.

Overall a fantastic night that we could not fault, the biggest surprise of all is having to read some very petty excuses by some here. It just goes to show life is what you make it and we made Sunday night SPECIAL. Thankyou Sandalford.

• Michael Buble 04.03.2011 (Written by Cristina Lombardo, 8 March 2011)

Well, what can I say... but ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!!!. The venue  had a romantic feel, which suited the nights entertainment to a T!. Facilities were very easy to find, event staff very approachable and helpful.

The 1st support act was very good! held up against the heat, well done!.

NATURALLY 7 ROCKED THE JOINT!!!! they were absolutely FANTASTIC, the people i was with abosolutely loved it (as this was their 1st Buble concert!), the energy the had was phenomenal!!! definitely the best start to a night of music and entertainment!!.

Then... Mr Buble entered the stage in his usual style and began the night with bang!!! with great rendition of Cry Me A River!!! xclnt effects the end of the song!!!! His set was simply amazing from start to finish!!!, his interaction with the audience was great, what i found lovely is when he introduced his band!!!! great night all round with lots of laughs and music!!! I would say DEFINITELY WORTH THE PRICE OF ADMISSION!!, some lowlights of the evening was when he sang his final song of the night.. when he did say that he wanted a silent audience so we could hear him sing... there were a handful of concert patrons, hooting and wolf-whistling!!!! NOT A ROCK CONCERT PPL!! and the tendancies of ladies grabbing at him, a little respect for personal space!!.

BUT ALL IN ALL 101/0 SHOW! Definitely will be seeing him again!!!!

• Michael Buble (Written by Scott Willis, 8 March 2011)

As regular attendees to other outdoor concerts around Perth and Margaret River, I was certainly excited to attend a new venue.  From the entertainment side of things, our group had a thoroughly enjoyable evening, with Buble' showing the fantastic entertainer he is, and Naturally 7 being absolutely incredible to say the least.

Personally I was happy with the wine prices, with it certainly comparable to other like events, and was happy with the decission to close the bar at 8pm.

On the negative side of things however, I was unfortunately bitterly dissappointed with the venue (Margaret River Show).  While it certainly has the breathtaking views to warrant holding these amazing concerts, having most of the audience in what were effectively "restricted viewing" areas is less that ideal.  Upon arrival, I was certainly astounded by the size of the VIP and Platinum areas, with these occupying virtually the only locations with a view of the concert stage.  For those unfortunately purchasing Gerneral Admission tickets, not only was the stage out of sight, but even the screens were low and difficult to see.

Should you wish to have further concerts at the venue, I would suggest that either the number of tickets on offer are substaintially reduced, or that the venue is appropriately landscaped to ensure that all patrons can actually see the performing stage.  If this is not the case, you may wish to sell the tickets as Restricted Veiwing, so that patrons are aware of what they are in for.  Without a change, I will certainly be avoiding concerts at this venue in the future unless I am able to justify the cost of purchasing the premium seating.  Leeuwin certainly has Sandalford's measure in this regard.

I do hope something can change to help the viewing experience for all partons, as the venue certainly has the potential to be one of the premier concert venues in WA.

• Buble concert, MR (Written by Fiona O'Sullivan, 8 March 2011)

Fantastic concert although could have done without the first act - didn't find her very entertaining.  Naturally 7 were amazing - what talent!  And of course, the supremo himself needs no words............

Venue:

1.  getting in & out by car was better than expected.

2.  should have had toilets on both sides, not just one - long way for people on right of stage to get over to toilets.

3.  music coming from corporate tent clashed with music being played at main area.

4.  Sandalford really need to come up with a better sparkling than Yellowglen in plastic bottles for $35!  Come on guys.........lift the standard!

A truly magical night, Buble was perfectly complemented with the dazzling backdrop of Sandalford Wines. Well done to all involved!

• michael bubly concert 4th march (Written by tom mason, 8 March 2011)

Wonderfull night , wonderful weather , wonderful entertainment ,, we purchased 4 VIP tickets for  my self and wife and very dear friends of ours ,, but if their was any downside it would have been the following

1 The marqee for the VIP was slightly on the small side , which meant that everyone was crowded in and this became a little stuffy with no  air  flow , also seating was a little bit light on for the number of VIP's

2 I asked for a cold beer and was given an externally cold beer but, warm contents ?? come on sandalford !! what ever happened to organizing a dozen of so large esky type coolers ??? the only way to cool beer or any drinks  is with bags of ice ,, forget the cooler fridges with glass doors facing the afternoon sun ?? or maybe a seperate marqee  over the fridges ????

3 I brought along a canon digital camera with a tele lens and this was regarded as a "professional camera " ??????? and told to pick it up from the office after the show !!!!! very dissapointing as we were told that only cameras that fit in your pocket were allowed ,, that should have been made clear by the promoters in the brochures << so no camera !!! no pics to submit to you

thanks and regds tom mason

• Michael Buble Margaret River (Written by Siobhan , 8 March 2011)

Michael Buble and Naturally 7 were, of course, amazing!

Thoroughly enjoyed the venue, although had very good seats. When we entered the venue, we were glad we hadn't purchased general admission as you couldn't see a thing. We didn't buy any food or drink at the venue and drove ourselves to and from the venue. Getting in wasn't too bad but yes, it was a bit of a free-for-all in the paddock afterwards and we had waited inside the venue for about half an hour before leaving.

There definitely needs to consideration for a 'dancing' area. When the people from the back came and stood in front (we were in the seating area off to the side from the VIP area) everyone else then stands up and the older couple behind us had no chance. I know Michael said dance but as Rick Ardon said - the people behind you have also paid alot of money! I suppose that happens everywhere though.

There definitely needs to be more lighting along the walkway to the carparks. The fact that it is gravel and with steep drops on either side should make it a necessity (and not just the enormous spotlights at the top of the walkway that blind you but aren't any help with watching your step!).

Overall, I would attend another concert there, depending on who, price and dates (long weekend definitely helped!).

• Michael Buble - Margaret River (Written by Tania , 8 March 2011)

We had a great night at Sandalford Margaret River, Michael Buble is a great entertainer and can't wait to see him in concert again.

The seating situation could of been more organised for us "grass dwellers", high backed chairs were suppose to be up the back, this was not put into action by most.  For us that had seating up the back near the alcohol area, the only part of the acts we could see was the top HALF of the side screens, to stand and see the stage I had to get on tiptoes and the acts looked like ants......we could not hear a word Rick Arden said and the lady who was on stage first (don't know her name as we could not hear the introduction!!) we could barely hear.  We ended up walking over to the merchandise stand and standing there to be able to see and hear anything.  Oh and a better choice of champagne would be nice !!! :-))

The parking was fantastic, minimal waiting time and cues seem to move quickly.

Overall it was a great night, I think that maybe a little more thought put into seating areas and having some way for people to make their way through the crowd (perhaps areas sectioned off with walking paths).

Thank you for a great night Sandalford Margaret River.

• Michael Buble Sun @ Margaret River (Written by Helen Beresford, 8 March 2011)

This is the second time i have seen Michael along with Naturally 7.  They were all their usual awesome selves.  Another encore would have been great from Michael but i understand time constraints.

Some constructive criticism:

The toilets were great!  Plenty of toilets - dont change that! (Saw Spandau Ballet last year and there werent enough there so this was great)

Definately not enough food venues - waiting in line over an hr for food, so missed watching the support act

Came in by bus - then we all had to stand out in the sun in a field as there was some confusion about what time we were allowed in.  Only one toilet in the whole paddock and no water unless people had any on them.  (You are lucky no-one collapsed from the heat with no shade).  Also, some people had to go and pick up their tickets - from a totally different gate!  This needs to be looked at for those people coming in on buses (considering it was the vendor promoting the bus service on the tickets in the first place)

Pricing of alcohol was a bit excessive.

Bouquets to the security guards - they worked their butts off (particularly down the front).  However, we had paid for seats and were lucky enough to score seats on the side four rows from the front, but we then got bombarded by a large group of extremely drunk people from further back in the seated area who pushed their way through.  My friend and i on the end of the row had 2 very drunk and rude people fall on top of us.  The security guards had a hell of a job getting them back to their seats and some people were arguing with them.  Perhaps not so big a VIP area, more of the general areas and some areas for dancing.  The people by us were drunk before michael even got on stage, and then made so much noise we couldnt hear him at all when he was talking and we were down the front!  Obviously not your fault but maybe some other entertainment before the show may slow down the alcohol intake when we are all bus'd in from 3.15 and there's nothing else to do but drink.  (I realise that being a winery your alcohol sales are the big puller for you but some repsonsiblility also needs to be taken for people's welfare).

As for getting in and out - i expected the wait, unfortunately with 12,000 people you are going to get that.  (Took us 21/2 hrs to get out of Sandalford for Spandau Ballet) Maybe a bit more traffic control would help in organising drivers to 'merge' and take turns getting out.  There were some concerns though with the ambulance trying to get through.  Also some lighting up the roads for all of us having to walk back along the gravel roads (lots of drunk people trying to stagger back up the hill, not so safe!)

• MB concert Margaret River (Written by Chris C, 8 March 2011)

Positives:

Excellent performance by MB and Naturally 7. We had VIP Stardust tickets with seats in the 3rd row which were absolutely awesome. Sound was great, staging and lighting fantastic.  VIP function beforehand was very good, plenty of good food on hand.

Negatives:

Wine was terrible. Need to provide your top shelf stuff to people who are paying at least $500 a head for the privilege.

VIP area was invaded by people jumping over the fence right next to us with security gurad watching them do it - NOT GOOD ENOUGH - you need to stop this from happening or there is going to be a riot.

Lastly we simply cannot understand people who decide to sit and talk (loudly) to each other all through a concert ESPECIALLY if you HAVE paid the $500 a head to be in the VIP section.  Extremely RUDE and IGNORANT and very annoying. So sing as much as you want but dont have conversations about what you did today at work or whatever in the middle of songs that other people want to listen to - PLEBS.

• Michael Buble (Margaret River, 6th Mar) (Written by Liz , 8 March 2011)

Fabulous concert and a great venue. Hats off to the organisers. I was really quite impressed with the organisation (given the number of guests), but agree with some of the other posts that the traffic management at the end of the night could be improved. The handling of cars on entry was fabulous - this just needed to be replicated at the end of the night - there were cars going everywhere in that paddock and no system to really guide them. People seemed to be working on a flawed system of:  the bigger, the more expensive your car...the more right you had to get out quickly. Strange logic really!

Buble was sensational, though did seem a little fatigued by the end of the night. Never the less, he was the quintesential entertainer and I think one of the bests acts I have seen live. Worth the ticket price and the mad chaos getting home at the end of it all!

• Sandalford Winery - Margaret River (Written by Michelle , 8 March 2011)

Firstly, have to say that Michael Buble and Naturally 7 were awesome, and it was a great concert experience.

The venue, I think could've been better.

Where I was sitting, I could barely see the stage, so I relied on the tv screens the entire night, however, couldn't see the screens very well because some people were allowed to sit in high back chairs where they shouldn't have been sitting. Security and some people sitting around us tried several times to get them to move, but they were apparently told that they were told that they could sit there. Maybe they didn't get the twenty something emails from Sandalford about where they could sit? Maybe next time, organisers at the gates should tell everybody who goes in about where they should sit?

I didn't drink that night, but to find out that the wine was $30 a bottle was a bit outrageous. However, I could imagine if the bottles were cheaper how many people would have gotten drunker than they already were. On the bus afterwards, it was like playing Spotto, searching for the drunken idiot passed out next to the vineyards. So I suppose it was a good thing that the bar was closed at 8.

As for exiting the concert, a lot more could have been done to help people getting out. I was on one of the buses, so I thought it would have been a bit better than what it was. As we were leaving, an ambulance had to get through the crowd, I was therefore practically pushed against other patrons so that the ambulance could actually get through. Why wasn't there ambulance set up at both exits so it wouldn't have to push through the crowds?

Lights at the walkway getting to the buses would have also been a great help. Several people, some actually drunk, and some elder people fell into the small ditch beside the pathway because they couldn't actually see where they were going. I actually wonder whether the older people would actually go back or not? I managed to find my bus quickly which was lucky, and our bus was left about 10ish, but other buses had to wait for people to find them. There were plenty of lights where the buses were, but perhaps the lights could have been left on a bit longer so that people could see where to find their buses?

Other than that, it was an awesome concert, and the toilets were plentiful, and very clean. Hardly had to wait in line at all.

• Michael Buble (Written by Alan Gorman, 8 March 2011)

Firstly, what can you say about the man, fabulous entertainer carried away the whole crowd with his performance Friday evening. My wife is the real fan but I caught him on the Graham Norton show one Saturday and he came over as a real down to earth guy, instantly took a liking to him.

Great stage presents, kept everyone entertained with his stories, observations and of course his singing what reaction from the audience, got them so involved from the start till unfortunately the very end, 2 hours just breezed past.

Naturally Seven, they could hold a concert on the strength of their own talents and here they were the warm up act, as they put it, for the great Michael. If ever there was a bonus here it was.

The venue was outstanding, always knew there was going to be a problem leaving, it had been continually identified by all correspondance with Sandalford, small lane on to the main road and 12000 people trying to exit. We just took the view that patience and time an we would be out.

Now for the down side, our VIP guests and possible a minority, their behaviour was outrageously poor, as Michael commented about the slurred speach and glazed look in their eyes as he made his way through the audience. Sandalfords should take some responsibility for this for allowing th sale of alchohol during the show. Not only did it create a poor example of Perth peoples behaviour it also spoilt the night for the rest of the audience who had to have these people streaming past them to get more alchohol.

• MICHAEL BUBLE CONCERT (Written by Neville Moriarty, 8 March 2011)

Great venue and brilliant artists - but

The ride in our school bus was less than comfortable and the ride tediusly slow uphill and somewhat exciting on the way down.

The long cue for the bag search made for a lengthy wait  amidst dust generated by passing buses.

I was remorseful that I outlaid big money on 3 plastic bottles of inferior wine at extortionate prices.

Two the bottles that I purchased for our group were knocked over by passers by;  and as the caps were retained by the liquor outlet, the liquid spilt on to the lawn and possibly killed it.

I hope that these matters can be tweaked for the next event.

• michael buble concerts (Written by Jean Anderson, 8 March 2011)

Flew over from Sydney on Thursday 3rd to attend concert at Sandleford on Friday. It was just fantastic and Michael Buble was as usual the ultimate performer. Saw his concert twice when he was in Australia 3 years ago. Natuarlly 7 are so talented. Wish you could sort out the problems experienced when it came time to leave. Took us over an hour to get out to the main road. Travelled to Margaret River to see the last concert on the Australian tour (yes I am a big fan!!!) Again a night of great entertainment enjoyed by everybody in our group.  The queues for everything were a real pain. Stood for 45 mins to get 2 botlles of very expensive wine and then another hour to buy some very expensive and inferior burgers. Hopefully these are problems that you will rectify before the next concert. Overall it was a great week-end and cant wait until the next time Michael Buble is touring Australia. I will be there.

• Michael Buble Concert (Swan Valley) (Written by Samantha , 8 March 2011)

What an excellent night out from start to finish! I took my mum who was not a fan and well now she is! We purchased the albums after Naturally 7 performed and by god they were fantastic! I loved the concert from start to finish and wished Michael stayed on stage for a few more encores as the time just flew by.

I thought it is excellent when he told the story of becoming engaged and how he interacts with the audience. The only sad part was people booing him for his happiness. I loved the end of the show when he sung without the microphone - he has one powerful voice.

The only negative comments I can give was when people decided to stand on their chairs (we had platinum seats) - it hindered the view for everyone else and most likely those in General Admission. Also the car park upon leaving - it took over an hour to vacate and like stated in one of the comments above, it wasn't until someone came out to assist that anyone started moving.

Other than that, it was a great show and would thoroughly come back again!

• Michael Buble Concert (Written by Belinda Marmion, 8 March 2011)

Had a fantastic time. Enjoyed the performance very much. I thought the Margaret River venue was ideal.

However, the lines for the bar and food were very long. I suggest food and wind should be available on both sides of the venue not just on one side.

• High chairs (Written by Garry Robinson, 8 March 2011)

Fantastic concert. Better than any at Leeuwin. One big complaint about people with high chairs. A section should be cordened off at the back of the venue especially for people with high deck chairs any they should be made to use the area by the security. We had about 20 sitting in front of us and the security asked them many times before the main event to either relocate or sit on the grass and they refused. I know this matter was noted in the emails and flyers but it must be policed when people arrive. It spoiled our night and probably the people concerned but maybe they didnt care. Thanks otherwise for an excellent concert

• MB (Written by rachel willetts, 8 March 2011)

wow what a fabulous concert, naturally 7 were great i didnt know who they were so that was a wonderful surprise because they were fantastic.  As for the man himself michael buble he was awesome, his interaction with the crowd was what impressed me so much and his voice was brilliant too. thoroughly enjoyed the night. i guess my only gripe would be the waiting in the same spot in my car for 50 mins without moving.  after 50 mins a security lady came along and started moving everyone along - there were attendants at the exit onto the metricup road but no one doing anything at the bottom of the car park.

anyway all in all a fantastic night, well done to everyone involved.

bring MB back soon

• Michael Buble (Margaret River Sunday 6 March 2011) (Written by Anne , 7 March 2011)

Fantastic Michael Buble concert at Margaret River on Sunday night.  Support acts were excellent and the lead in to Michael Buble by Naturally 7 was well done and the first time we had had the opportunity to either hear or see them in person.  However, did not expect such a wait before Michael appeared as it had been clearly announced earlier there would be no break - not sure what happened here!!  But it was well worth the wait as Michael is the all round consummate showman and performer!

You have requested feedback both positive and areas to work on........... so here are some items for the debrief:

1.  More security and queues for entry to the venue and ticket checking including a line for patrons with only a blanket and no bags etc to be checked so as to fast track entry.

2.  Some more clearer markings or flags to indicate the area for low back chairs, blankets, cushions etc and high back chairs way at the rear.  There were a couple of people with high back chairs near where we were sitting and when they were asked to move they said they had been told it would be alright and refused to move.  Also more clearer markings on the grass for 'walking aisles' - there were people all night treading through the middle of picnic rugs, eskys, chairs etc to gain access to the food, drinks and toilets etc and by the end of the evening this was proving disastrous with many people badly affected by way too much alcohol tripping over and falling into people.

3.  Improvements need to be made to the traffic control or a different strategy developed for exiting the concert especially from the bus carpark area when we were encouraged to go by bus to the concert by the event organisers.

4.  There was obviously an emergency at the end of the evening but how and the speed at which the emergency vehicle was driven through the crowd (at what our party thought was too fast a speed) needs to be reviewed as someone could have been killed.  Also the re-entry to the venue by this vehicle and a police car close behind was a disgrace and again at far too greater speed with patrons safety being compromised by being forced off the side of the gravel road and into the bush!!!

5.  Some post concert entertainment / music be provided so there is a staggered / delayed and more orderly exit from the venue instead of 1000's trying to exit together through one small exit area - or open up a greater area to allow for the mass exodus of patrons.

6.  The pricing for the wine and more particularly the champagne should be reviewed - they were not top shelf names / labels yet the prices were exceptional.

Looking forward to many more enjoyable concerts at this wonderful venue with hopefully some improvements after this first concert!!!

• Michael Buble (Written by Candice , 7 March 2011)

We went to see MB on Sun night down at Margaret River.  Awesome concert!!  I saw MB in Adelaide last time he was in OZ and the ambience last night was ten fold.

To the previous comments on lack of singing - stay home and listen to a CD if all you want is singing.  It was great that MB interacted with us and it feel like he was actually excited to be here.

Congratulations Sandalford on a wonderful venue! We had such a great time.  We were in the General admission area and we were a little restricted - it would have been better if perhaps the stage was a little higher.  but with all the screens we didnt miss anything!!

It was great that you shut off the bar at 8pm. I thought that there was not as much drunk people as I expected and the plastic wine bottles were really cool.

The toilets were great! Plenty of them and barely had to wait in line.  They were also quite clean.

Leaving was a long wait but expected and I am sure that it will be something that you can only learn after an event and will look into for next ones.

Once again, thank you for a wonderful night - we will definately be coming back!

• Michael Buble Margaret River (Written by Connie Brown, 7 March 2011)

A fantastic concert. Naturally 7 were also brilliant.  My husband was not an fan until last night.  We both thoroughly enloyed the entire night worth paying for Premium tickets.

• Fantasic Mr Michael Buble but the venue?? (Written by C Graham, 7 March 2011)

We attended the MB concert at Margaret River, and what a fantastic show!! Mr Buble is the most amazing singer, entertainer and the show was awesome, along with Naturally 7 the support act that had everyone on their feet. Brilliant.

However not as brilliant was the venue. Disgraceful that the bag check staff had the incorrect time on "their paperwork" of opening the gates, so all of us that came on the bus( that picked us up early to make the 4pm opening) were left in a dusty dry field out in the sun....funny our tickets had gates open at 4pm printed on them?? The toilets all over one side of the venue another headache although the toilets were very clean which is of course a good thing. The general admission area was awful, this needed to be sectioned off  with walkways, as once everyone had their seats in position, there was no way out easily to get to food, drinks or the toilet. Have been to a concert at Kings Park that had the general admission area much more organised. Getting out also a nightmare, with everyone squeezing out of the tiny gates we came in through and no lighting up the path to the buses, I saw a couple of people fall over in the dirt due to not being able to see a thing. I agree with the other comments about the buses also, being forced to wait around for other people that couldn't find the bus home.

If the concert wasn't as fantastic as it was, it would have been a very disappointing evening. The venue is good for concerts, but the teething problems need to be sorted before the next big event.

• MB at MR (Written by Amy , 7 March 2011)

I LOVED THIS CONCERT!!  It was a fantastic evening and I will most certainly be back for future events if the calibre of artists continues to be of such a high standard.  I just wish Santana was also coming to Margaret River!

Positive notes:

#1 Michael Buble, his band & Naturally 7 - absolutely utterly totally fantastic!!  Talented musicians, great sense of humour & professional showmen!  Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!! <3  I'm sure any men who attended reluctantly would have changed their minds by the end of the night.  I know all the women loved it!  The booing at Michael's engagement announcement was the sound of all their hearts breaking!  :D  Love his humour, loved his jokes, loved the connection with the audience & of course his singing.

#2 We were dropped off & picked up by my most wonderful fiance, so that was definitely quicker & easier than self-drivers & buses from what I've heard from others.  Just don't understand why they were not letting cars turn left out of the Metricup Rd exit when we were heading in the Gracetown direction? Odd, but not earth shattering.

#3 It was definitely worth paying the extra for Platinum seating, although I agree that side areas should be a little cheaper than front of stage.

#4 Atmosphere was brilliant, with everyone around us enjoying themselves & respecting each other.

#5 All staff at the event were great, thank you very much.

#6 Toilet facilities were good, queues weren't too long & they were clean.  Could have been lit a little better inside perhaps.

#7 Glad I didn't wear stiletto heels, given the dusty gravel it must have been very easy to sprain/break ankles.

Negative notes:

#1 Michael Buble left too early!!  I could have listened to him all night long!  Seriously though, another half hour or so at least would have been great.  Perhaps just another couple of encores?

# 2 Why couldn't more respect be shown to the first opening act by advising ticket holders prior to the event who she was?  I didn't find out until today and would probably have tried to arrive earlier to see her if I'd known.

#3 Having to purchase wine bottles without lids - too easy for accidents to happen.  I completely agree with the 8pm bar closing, there were WAY TOO many people far too drunk.  What happened to responsible service of alcohol and not serving intoxicated patrons?  I still don't understand people's attitude to drink so much they then can't enjoy the concert properly.  This definitely spoiled the night for a few other people I know who attended, especially in the General Admission area.

#4 The rule on cameras should have been clearer.  Most of the pre-concert emails said audio, video or photographic equipment was not permitted, but then another one said no professional recording equipment was allowed.  This is too vague and needs to be more specific.  We saw lots of people taking photos with cameras (and how would you actually stop those with camera phones anyway?)  And then to ask people afterward to upload their pictures of the event when most people thought bringing cameras was not permitted?  Confusing & disappointing for those who thought they were doing the right thing.

#5 The new Naturally 7 CD had sold out by the time we had a chance to go buy one.  Will definitely hunt it down, they were GREAT!!

#6 Thought the food choices were a bit limited for a venue & event of this size.  But given this was the first one in Margaret River, it should be easy enough to rectify for future events.

#7 I couldn't afford VIP tickets, oh well, better start saving...

To sum up, CONGRATULATIONS & PLEASE GIVE US MORE!!  We'll be there with bells on!  THANK YOU to Mr & Mrs Prendiville for bringing even more classy entertainment to our beautiful region!

• Michael Buble (Written by Catherine , 7 March 2011)

I bought tickets for my husband as I am not a real fan BUT........................now I am!!!!!. What an awesome concert st Sandalford Margaret River.  We caught the bus and had reserved seating which was the way to go.  Beats Leeuwin my miles in my opinion.  Cant wait for the next concert at Margaret River.  Well done Sandalford - Great Event!!!!

• Margaret River Buble (Written by Ann Newton, 7 March 2011)

What a wonderful concert! Support act was surprisingly awesome and MB was  the consumate professional. I did find myself embarrassed for the impression that a top overseas act was given of Australian audiences who while so full of alcohol that they couldnt display the necessary manners and decorum to stop shrill laughing and talking while someone is performing. If you are not interested in listening to the music, just visit a wineryand get tanked and be done with it.!

Also we took bus as we had our 81 year old disabled mother was with us and thought it may be quicker to get in and out of the venue and would allow us closer access to the ground. How wrong we were as at the conclusion of the concert we spent nearly an hour waiting in the bus while we waited for extremely drunk patrons to find the right one. It should be agreed jsut like any public transport that if you are not there when the bus is due to leave, you miss the bus. We didnt arrive back to Bunbury until 12.30pm and had to endure very badly behaved patrons during the ride home. I agree with the 8.00 bar closure, God knows hwat sort of state they would have been in if the bar had gone on longer!

As already mentioned we were not aware of the disable section of the venue and did ponder the ACROD entrance but no one suggested we take our clearly immobile mother to that as we entered. This would have perhaps allowed her to see even the screens as she was unable to stand up and watch the last few songs. We were very nervous also of the wobbly state of the paths and the limited lighting. Thankfuly we got Mum in and out without her falling over her walking stick. No thanks again to the people bumping and crashing around us as we tried to protect her from thoughtless drunks.

Regardless of these teething problems, I would gladly give a concert at your wineries another chance, given the fantastic and beautiful venue and the fabulous talent that you have hosted. Well done!

WOW, WOW, WOW.....Loved it, loved it , loved it. Just did not want the show to end.  Please bring Michael back next year. Of course Naturally 7 were amazing.   I have now attended 4 concerts at Sandleford & love the location.  I have no complaints what so ever about the venue.  Had terrifc seats ( well worth booking reserved seating)  I don't agree with some of the comments regarding Michael not singing enough.  I thought his playful banter was very entertaining.  LOVE YOU MB

WELL DONE SANDLEFORD

• 7 March 2011 (Written by Stacey , 7 March 2011)

We were close to the fence line on general admission and the stage was down in a ditch it seemed, our view was so far away from the stage, could the stage not have been raised higher so everyone had a better view, the video screens could also have been a lot bigger.  Apart from that a great night

• A M A Z I N G (Written by Jasmin Hopkinson, 7 March 2011)

I went to 2 out of his 3 concerts this weekend. Friday night at Swan Valley with general admission tickets, the view was not brilliant but the atmosphere was so electrifying it didnt matter. Sunday night at Margeret River I had a VIP ticket. 5th row from the front. I snuck a cuddle and a kiss from Mr Buble himself and one of the Naturally 7 performers who too are MIND BLOWING.

Wonderful event both nights.

• comments on the concert (Written by Kim Brunswick, 7 March 2011)

Hi Guys

Both my wife, friends & myself thought the concert was a great success, venue, I think only 2 concerns we had & that was , we caught a bus to the venue & on our way back to the bus the roadway back to the buses wasvery poorlylit & quite a few people fell over from lack of lighting & the road surface was very slippery & that fact that the bar closed at 8.00 pm, apart from that Michael Buble was absolutely great  & the venue fantastic.

• MB Margaret River (Written by Rod , 7 March 2011)

Great concert. Great venue.  Well catered and organised, though I thought it a little ironic that you ran out of wine.......

The seating?  The VIP area was so large, that the general admission seating area on the ground at the right rear of the area made seeing the stage performance area almost impossible, due to the way the ground falls, (or doesn't fall)  If general admission is 50% of the crowd, we do deserve good viewing from everywhere at the venue. This was my only disapointment in an otherwise fantastic night, a disappointmentI have not experienced at the Swan valley site.

Though transport hassles did exist, I am sure you were aware of them, and already have contingency plans in place.  A great debut concert for the Margaret River site. and one that will be extremely hard to follow.

• Buble Concert (Written by Basil Musca, 7 March 2011)

Wonderful night at Margaret River truly magical place.

The leaving of the concert was very poor for people that drove and parked. No one policed the traffic other than leaving the gate.

It allowed for frustration and people simply pushing in with cars.

The angst was so much that someone cut the fence wire to cross over to the VIP exit.

• Micheal buble (Written by Jade Walsh, 7 March 2011)

Totaly amazing! Micheal buble and Naturally 7 were both amazing. Loved every moment. Thank you for an amazing night.

• Michael Buble at Sandalford Margaret River (Written by Roslyn , 7 March 2011)

AMAZING, AWSOME, FANTASTIC. I was blown away by Naturally 7 then went to heaven with MB and the band. Fantastic venue, only comment on the seating is, it was like playing sneek a peek through a mob of bobble heads. (Section B5 by the way). The stage was way too low to have a good constant veiw of the entertainers, in a movie theatre the action is at eye level of those at midway. If it wasn't for the screens I would not have seen much at all, I could have seen as much on DVD. But it was Michael and he was worth the money.

To people complaining about the waiting time to get in and out of the venue, "Patience" , you don't get thousands of people in and out of a venue in 20 minutes. Though the bag check point could have been closer the the ticket check in to save people waiting in the dusty parking area, and more of them. And the advertised multiple food outlets weren't multiple enough.

• Michael Buble (Written by Kerry , 7 March 2011)

Fantastic concert which would have been perfect if the bar rules were not so strict. If michael doesnt like people drinking at his concerts maybe he shouldnt sing at a winery!

• Michael Buble Margaret River! (Written by Diane & Richard Maggi, 7 March 2011)

MARGARET RIVER FIRST FOR SANDALFORD ESTATE AND WHAT A NIGHT IT WAS!  Michael had the big crowd completely delighted at his singing, sense of humour and wonderful showmanship.  Naturally 7 were amazing and I'm sure will hit Australia's shores again in the future. Break between Naturally 7 & Michael Buble a little on the long side (suspect VIP dinner dragged on).  Not good to have a warm up act cool down too much in between the main event.  Nevertheless, it was a wonderful night and hopefully a great start to a Margaret River tradition.  Peter & Debbie Prendiville should be very proud of this venue and we thank them for bringing more excitement to Margaret River.  Good opportunity for them to help create a  tradition like in The Berkshires, Mass. summer home of the Boston Pops Symphony Orchestra  and many other theatrical events. I think the Prendivilles just might have the energy & opportunity to place Margaret River on everyone's "Bucket List".  Well done!

• Great concert (Written by Chris , 7 March 2011)

Hi All,

Love the Buble concert and the venue and seating was fantastic. Arranging the buses to go to and fro was another plus. A few fixers for next time: we got covered in dust from the buses while cuing to get in and I missed the entire Naturally 7 act as I was cueing for food for my wife and I. Also the food was better than most rural shows but we needed club sandwiches and maybe chicken and salad platters and the like. A small bar in the seating area and an exit near the toilets from the seating exit are all little things but things that would improve the experience.

Nevertheless had a blast and loved it - I hope you can get him and acts like him back again and again - we'll be there

• Michael Buble Concert 5 March 2011 (Written by Margaret, Steve & Pam , 7 March 2011)

What a fantastic night!!  We've been to many concerts over the years, but can honestly say that this was THE best!!!  Michael is an outstanding entertainer - fantastic voice, very funny - had us all in the palm of his hands.  Can't wait until his next concert in Perth!!  Naturally 7 were terrific - amazing in fact.  Sandalford's organisation of the event was stress free and well done.   Our only comment in the negative is that we too followed all the do's and don'ts and were amazed to see so many people with cameras and recorders and no security people taking any notice of them.  Members of our family attended the Friday night concert and folk there were having their cameras taken off them for the duration of the concert.

• Michael Buble (Written by Rita , 7 March 2011)

What an amaaaaaaaazing night!  Michael was all that and more!  I thoroughly enjoyed the performances by Natalie  and Naturally 7 -

What a talented group and a show all of their own!

Michael was charming, entertaining and a considerate performer.  I loved his songs as did my daughter.

It was the first time I went to a concert and a great night.

Thank you Sandalford and the Dainty/Zaccaria groups.

One constructive comment: Getting in to parking areas was excellent however please may you improve the exiting of thousands of cars at the end of the night?  We decide to not go to our car immediately and waited a good 40 minutes before we decided to even join the exit queue (that we hoped would have dwindled by then but which took another hour to get to the road).

Also better signage of where the queues take you eg. right lane to Reid Highway, left lane to Guildford would be appreciated.

What happened to the No cameras and no recording equipment????

• Michael Buble (Written by Kerry , 7 March 2011)

Congratutations....Sandalford Margaret River; what an amazing night. Michael Buble first class also his support artists. For the inaugural concert at this venue it left me hungry for the next one! You stand in a league of your own compared to the other major concert hosted at another MR winery.

A few teething problems with the following:                                                                                                                                                                                            1. Need more security & bag check personel at entry gates, should have at least 8-10 races for the bus entry location for the volume of people, not much fun getting covered in dust while waiting in queue. & ditto for ticket check entry. Perhaps an electronic ticket swipe machine like at footy or airport could process crowd more efficently.                                                                                                                                                                                           2. Traffic control for exiting the concert was very disorganised especially from the bus carpark. One hour to move from carpark to Caves Rd exit gate!!!! & then more hold ups on Metricup Rd. Please revise traffic flow in your concert debrief.                                                                                                 3. Your emergency protocol will need some urgent review in regards to the medico vehicle careering thru the crowd trying to exit the venue. That was totally reckless. Could have resulted in a fatality.

Otherwise a splendid evening, thank you  Kerry

• mb (Written by Leanna Marsh, 7 March 2011)

Sandalford can definately hold a concert.. MB was great, lots of talk a little bit more singing would have been better, The only problem Sandalford needs to address is the traffic. It is all well and good having these concerts but clearly when you sell as many tickets as you do then you need to have the parking to accomodate these concert goers and the cars, unfortunatly Sandalford can not accomodate this amount of traffic, no amount of traffic control would be able to control this. The traffic management do a fantastic job they are friendly courteous and yes they do direct the traffic, if the impatient party goers are running over cones, pushing in on other cars then of course there is a traffic jam, I have seen these traffic controllers feet run over, spat on, abused and in some cases physical intimidation has taken place. Wouldnt it be much better holding more concerts with fewer people, who can then get in and out with no fuss, you would then have a concert that would be pleasant from start to finish.

• Great concert but ... (Written by Mark , 7 March 2011)
MB was great wife and I really enjoyed. Venue wonderful, views excellent. But ... All those emails leading up to the event and no mention that it was a cash only event? And sponsored by Visa and still cash only??? Expected more range of food, again emails prior advised people would not be queing. Loved the hamper stall but how did people find out about this prior? All in all a good night, thanks to the kind people sitting next to us that lent us cash to get through :)
• In a Bublé of love :) (Written by Alana Osborne, 6 March 2011)

How to describe seeing Michael live? There are no words. It was an unforgettable night!! :)

But I would like to second some opinions here, those being:

1) Make those screens bigger, please!  For the unfortunate souls who aren't close enough to get a good look at the real thing :)

2) Please allow cameras from now on! :P We left ours in the car in accordance to the rules... If we only knew.

3) The attempt at controlling traffic after the show was pretty weak. The cars on the main exit lane were given so much priority that everyone else seemed to be forgotten. We were so close to the exit and it took us 30mins of waiting because they'd let 1 of us go for every 30 of the others! :P

Still. It was an overall great experience and we were very happy with the show :) The staff was nice, the night was so pleasant, the lighting show was great and Bublé... Bublé was Bublé, and that sums it all up ;) Thanks for bringing the best singer in the world that little bit closer to us.

• concert (Written by Suzannah Taylor, 6 March 2011)

Last night's concert was just brilliant. I have been a Michael Buble fan for years and to be able to be present last night was a huge privilege. I would have loved some photos but like most others did the right thing and did not bring my camera.

My only negative would be the impatience shown by people at the end of the concert as they tried to leave. Maybe a few more people directing traffic at this stage could help.

Otherwise thumbs up Sandalford! I had a fabulous night! My only wish is that I had booked for both nights. Please come back soon Michael.

• Michael Buble Friday Night (Written by Kerri , 6 March 2011)

I would also like to make a comment on Mr Trevor Heydons comments   "Get a Life"

I am an Older Woman who also had V.I.P tickets and have frequently been to concerts at Sandleford enjoyed all of them especialy Michael Buble on Friday Night.  On several of the concerts people have come down the front to dance and enjoy themselves much to the anoyance of the Security but what the heck let them enjoy themselves, I am willing to stand its only for awhile and if your not capable on standing for awhile you shouldn't be there.

Michael is a true entertainer and quite a comedian.  I certainly would pay that price again to see him.  The Staff were excelent as per usual.  Food in our area excellent as usual.

Mr  Heydon get a life and let other people enjoy themselves they paid the same as you.

• Micheal Buble Concert 5.March 2011 (Written by Susanna & Rachel Hopkins, 6 March 2011)

What an entertaining night, fantastic concert, great organization and an awesome evening all round!

Thank you, Sandalford for bringing such great artists to WA and organizing the whole event so well.

Have nothing at all to complain.

We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the night! Natalie, Naturally7 and to top it off, of course, Micheal Buble!

Worth every cent of our tickets!   :o)

• Michael Buble Saturday night (Written by Anna , 6 March 2011)

Absolutely amazing night. Loved everything. Venue fantastic and our seats were brilliant. Will definately come back to Sandalford for future concerts.

• Michael Buble (Written by Amanda , 6 March 2011)

As always Sandalford put on a spectacular event. It is fast becoming my favourite way to enjoy a concert. We took our picnic blanket, pillows and a couple of chairs along with our cheese & dip platter. We used the public transport available and it was incredibly easy and fast. The drivers were all lovely, as were the other patrons.

Security were great, toilets were immaculate and the line for wine was always kept to a minimum.

Natuarally 7 were amazing! I found Michael Buble to be a little lackluster at times. It felt like he was doing a rehearsal. I appreciated the audience interaction, but was disapointed to see him use old material again. I enjoyed the concert, but have seen him do much much better. At $130 a ticket, he could have made sure he was at the top of his game.

Big thanks to Sandalford - you put on an event like no one else I've seen.

• Michael Buble Sat 5th (Written by William Knewstubb, 6 March 2011)

My first concert at Sandalford and definately not the last . Brilliant show by a top entertainer. A true professional that made a Valentine's Day gift perfect I Thank You. The support acts and his band were excellent and He himself was a pleasure to listen to and watch given that I'm not a huge fan of jazz but now have a bit more appreciation for it. The venue was very relaxed and well worth the money of Platinum seats for the view we had. Only down side for the whole event for me was the wait to get something to eat before the start. Wanting to get an Anti-pesto platter Ive learnt for next time to pre-order as we waited for 20 + mins in queue only to be told they had sold out. Not the hosts fault I'm sure but just a little thing that can make a great night even greater and maybe better trained traffic controllers on exiting. All in all a fantastic night and we will be back again for another show in the future.

• Michael Buble (Written by Rachel Hutton, 6 March 2011)

Everything was fantastic!

Easy access in and out of the venue, with a little patience of course, the bar and food service was excellent, staff around the venue were excellent and the highlight, Mr Buble was amazing. What a show!

Sandalford, congrats on hosting such a fantastic evening. Ill be back for sure(and please bring Buble back asap)

• Michael Buble concert 05/03/11 (Written by John Watson, 6 March 2011)

We went to our first concert at Sandalford last night and the whole experience was most memorable. We decided to get a bus from Midland train station and were at the gates by 3:45pm, avoiding all the hassles of taking a car. We got in quickly and got a great position on the grass. The management must be congratulated on the whole organisation of the event. It was great to see local talent given a good go to show herself & Naturally 7 were absolutely incredible. Well worth watching a concert of there own. Michael Buble was sensational and we loved every moment of it. It was great to see him come up towards the back and sing a few songs there. When the concert finished, we went out the back to get a bus again and in a short time, we were back in Midland again & in our car. Our congratulations go to the event organisers on the thought & effort put in to the whole event and we will certainly be back again to be a part of more events.

• michael buble concert (Written by juanita Ferreira, 6 March 2011)

The setting was gorgeous. The event staff showing you where to park were great. The support act Naturally Seven were amazing, fantastic, fun and loved the way they got alomost everyone to their feet. The amenities were well supplied and plentiful in number.

Michael Buble was quite simply brilliant!!! We were in general admission and had fantastic sound, and an awesome view (though felt the screens should have been larger). We absolutely love his music but have never been fortunate enough to attend his concert..or should I say show.

He was truly spectacular, warm, funny, humble and the way he introduced his band was brilliant.....I could not say enough about how awesome he was and what a fabulous night we had..........that is until we went to leave!!!

We came from the northern suburbs and indeed were expecting delays to enter and exit....we were directed to the carpark near the exit to Maxwell road. Quite unbelievably when we went to leave we found the number of staff helping to direct traffic to leave in an orderly fashion had dwindled from many at the start of the night  to one!!!!!!!!!! There were no barriers however there were witches hats  to indicate the exit lanes and if common sense and patience had prevailed instead of the sheer arrogance of many drivers i am sure the situation would not have been so bad. To watch hundreds of cars ignore simple rules and weave in and out over lanes of cars doing the correct thing and to end up with at least 20 lanes of cars converging towards the exit instead of two was ridiculous!!!! We truly felt for the one man trying his best, but to no avail to get the patrons to leave in an orderly and more timely manner.

Surely the event organisers could have instituted measures such as barriers or ropes and certainly a decent amount of staff to assist......watching so many people become aggressive and so many near misses was a sad end to an otherwise awesome night. By the time we exited the carpark an hour later despite being very close to the exit we could only laugh when we were prevented by staff on west swan road to turn left instead of right causing us to take the scenic route via Guildford to our home in hillarys one hour and forty minutes after the concert ended!!! Not happy Jan!!!

First ever concert at Sandalford on Friday night for Michael Buble, dont know why we haven't been before!!!

Fantastic venue and an amazing cocert , Naturally 7 were also wonderful . the first of many........

Looking forward to Santana next Sunday night!!!!!

• Buble (Written by Nicky Street, 6 March 2011)

Fantastic concert, Buble was excellent, great entertainer. Only a small point if you were not suppose to take cameras in

then why were the event staff allowed to video the concert where you had to enter & exit the seated area. The ladies were having a great time

dancing taking very little notie of who was entering & exting this area.

Parking is still a major issue at this venue mainly exiting the concert, we were less than 300 meters from the road but it took us over 40 minutes

to get onto the tarmac due to inconsiderate drivers pushing their cars into already congested lines. We were suprised we did not witness any accidents, although we saw a near miss. Also I thought taking my spoons off me was going a bit too far.

Its a shame more public transport can not be laid on for these concerts as we live North it was not convientent to get to Midland for the shuttle bus.

Otherwise a great evening.

• Sat nite concert (Written by Kerryann Macfarlane, 6 March 2011)

Wow what an entertainer he is, truely fantastic.  I enjoyed the sandalford experience more than Challenge stadium as one had the opportunity to get up and dance.  His sense of humour (Rainbow Connection) and layed back style make him a joy to watch and listen to... I just hope I can afford a ticket again next time he graces our shores.. Love Him, Loved the Concert, very happy... best birthday present I could get for myself!!

• Micael Buble Sat March 5 (Written by Celie , 6 March 2011)

What an awesome night!! Our first concert at Sandalford and glad to say it won't be the last. The event staff, including parking staff, security, bar staff and ushers were all friendly and very helpful. Great job guys.

Naturally 7 did an oustanding job of getting the crowd going. The talent on the stage had to be seen to be believed. Not an instrument used but still so musical. Loved it.

And as for Michael?? Brilliant!! The songs, his voice and the comedy. An allround great night of entertainment. Can't wait til he's back again. At Sandalford of course.

• Sat night Buble concert (Written by Kelly Railton, 6 March 2011)

What an amazing concert! Its the first time I've seen him live and i would definately see him again. I agree with previous comments that his talent has to be seen live to fully appreciate, WOW!! Hard to believe one person has all that talent plus a fantastic sense of humour and looks to go with!

I had platnium tickets in block A1 row Y and i was really happy with this location, but i think luck may have had something to do with this...  Also lucky to have a cute man in the row directly in front of me that kept smiling at me... I think your name is Paul?( but i was too shy to talk to you!)

I did also wonder why we were told not to bring cameras when everyone around us was taking pics?? that was disappointing.. Parking was alot better than i expected... the predicted 1 hour delays were only 15 mins for us :-)

• Michael buble concert (Written by karen thompson, 6 March 2011)

We had a brilliant time love the venue - our bring your own seating area was great - we didnt expect to be right at the front - yeh the screens could have been bigger.. but not a negative - naturally 7 were brilliant and Natalie Gillespie was a lovely easy listening starter - although I did feel sorry for them that they were just standing in the blackness of the empty stage.

We loved all Michael start to finish... not long enough!!

The organisation was AMAZING toilets were all clean looroll replaced no queues anywhere!! Pat on the back sandleford!!

Our only grumble was that we got dropped off at the west swan entry by our daughter and she was returning at the same point to collect us when we called her but when walking in the car park attendant asked if we were dropped off and were we planning to be collected at the same point? well no thats not going to happen... there is a pick up point on reid highway they drive in and drive off - not the same place as the parking!!

This was not the case .... we had to walk a long way in the black sand (with white sandals on) in the dark and couldnt get across reid highway ... maybe this could be sorted out for the future. Thanks for an amazing night.

• Great performance, not so great organisation (Written by Cally , 6 March 2011)

Michael Buble was great, and i also thought that the emails prior to the show were great in making it clear what the transport and concert courtesy and etiquette expectations were.

Unfortunately in the emails there was no information about where to be dropped off/picked up from if you werent driving or taking public transport, the mobile digital signs didnt seem to be working when we drove past them on the way in travelling east on reid highway, and the 'taxi sign' was poorly visible at the end of the night to pick us up when our driver was trying to find the right way to go after being told off for dropping us off on the side of west swan road.

Also unfortunately even though the emails asked patrons to please please not dance on the seats as a common courtesy to others, this did not stop many people particularly in the 'VIP' Section, so the rest of us in the lowly Platinum section couldnt see a thing when Buble came onto the stage in the middle of the crowd. When I asked the ushers if they could ask these people to come down from the chairs, I was told they couldnt do anything! unbelievable, wouldnt that be part of their job especially as this was specified in the pre show instructions?

• MB - 2nd concert (Written by Emma K , 6 March 2011)

Thank you MB .. 2nd time I've seen you in Perth and although the concert was very similar to 3 years ago you are a wonderful entertainer and seem genuinely appreciative of your adoring fans.  Sandleford, a beautiful setting and staff were excellent as usual BUT the VIP area is too big.  We were one of the first in the queue but because we only paid $129 a ticket I felt we were miles away from the stage.   I felt sorry for people in the last rows of the VIP area who paid more than us but whose view was not any better.  SMALLER VIP AREA please ... don't block out the plebs!!!!

• Michael Buble concert 5 March 2011 (Written by Victoria Martelli, 6 March 2011)

What an amazing night!  Michael Buble was incredible.  Only downside was that I was with my 94 year old Nanna who is in a wheelchair.  Whilst parking and access were great, no-one bothere to tell us that there was a designated ACCROD area for disabled people that was quite close to the front.  We spent half of Michael's concert right up the very back, barely able to see or hear.  It was only from the kindness of one lovely lady who had been sitting right behind the ACCROD area (which only had 2 disabled peple and their families in there) who came up to us and informed us of the area.  Whoever you were - THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I phoned Sandalford's after purchasing the tickets to find out about access and seating for disabled people, and I was not informed of this area.  I wa simply told that as general admission tickets, we could sit where we liked.

The two secuirty staff men who helped wheel my Nanna to the area and then back again at the end of the concert were wonderful.  Thank you for you assistance :)

It was a wonderful concert, but in future it should be made very clear to people as they enter the grounds that there is an area for disabled people.

• Michael Buble & Sandalford (Written by Jenny Smythe, 6 March 2011)

What a great concert.  I went "back" to Sandalford after many years of never wanting to go there again after a bad experience there once.  But I went back to see Michael Buble and it was a very good concert.  He's the ultimate entertainer, involved the crowd and even moved through the crowd to a spot where we could see him clearly.

Naturally 7 were so good - how professional and entertaining were those guys.  You'd swear they were playing instruments.  Well done to them.

Yes I noticed loads of people had cameras and were clicking away without fear and I wondered if they knew something I had missed.  I didn't bring mine because I too read it in the rules not to bring cameras and now we're being asking to download our pics !

But well done to Sandalford and congratulations for the set up around the venue especially the toilet blocks.  There were no ques and they were cleaned constantly and they all worked.  That part I thought was EXCELLENT.

We were dropped off and collected by a family member and I thought the parking areas for drop offs, limos, shuttle buses etc was very well organised with no waiting whatsoever.  We were in bed by 11.

We purchased wine and it was very well organised with the ice and bags and no pushing shoving or waiting in long ques.  The staff were pleasant and friendly.  BUT the $30 a bottle was a bit steep given they make the stuff onsite!  Same wine in the paper today for $19!  Why does food and beveridge at concerts have to be so damn expensive?

A great evening was had by all of us (bar the lady in front who went off her brain at another lady because they sat too close).  What a site that was.  Apart from those two, we met some lovely people all around us.

Thanks Michael and Sandalford and bring on the next one.

• Michael Buble Concert (Written by Sandra Hill, 6 March 2011)

Great night Michael Buble was fantastic but we WERE PAYING for that! Just wanted to say what a GREAT crowd there on Friday but an even bigger THANK YOU to all the staff employed in all areas from showing you where to park and seating to the security people as well, you all need a HUGE slap on the back for a job well done, without you there would be no concerts! Thanks again to all!

• Brilliant concert!!! But were cameras allowed or not??? (Written by Jasper , 6 March 2011)

Nothing short of brilliant!  The two support acts were also fantastic!!  Well worth it.  Can't wait for next time :)

Though I'm also confused about the camera situation????  All 3 or 4 emails I received from Sandalford Wines prior to the event clearly said no video or photographic cameras would be allowed.  So I followed the rules and left my camera behind.  Yet many people were taking photos (with a flash) at the concert and we now are encouraged to upload photos here on the venue website.  It would be nice if Sandalford Wines could clarify what was the correct expectation.  I'm very disappointed that I didn't take a camera and missed out on photos because of this :(  I agree with Julie, cameras should be allowed at concerts.

• Michael Buble Concert (Written by Cheryl Coles, 6 March 2011)

I went to my first Sandalford Winery concert last nite, what a fantastic experience. Michael Buble was AWESOME both signing and doing his comedy act, sooo funny. Love the support act Naturally 7 so talented. Can't wait to listen to their album. Thanks Sandalford for the wonderful experience, I will be going to more concert events there.

Loved the free bus shuttle from Midland, so much better than battling the traffic.

Cheers

• Michael Buble' 5th March 2011 (Written by Lynne Nuttall, 6 March 2011)

Wow, what what an amazing concert. A fantastic show worth every cent. Naturally 7 where unbelievable and did a great job warming up the crowd, but Michael was just awesome and really did make you feel that it was just a private little show with just you and a handful of others. If he decided to hang up the microphone he could definately become a comedian cause that man is funny!  Loved every minute and will be seeing him again on his next visit. Well done and Congratulations Michael and Crew for a job well done in a beautiful setting!!

• Michael Buble (Written by Rhonda and Peter , 6 March 2011)

One of the best concerts we have been to.  Also our first at Sandalford.  Thoroughly enjoyed every moment, every song, every joke.  He is such a performer and deserves all the success he gets.

Thought the venue was perfect, even the entering and exiting went smoothly. Would certainly book another ticket for future concerts. The Premium seating was perfect and worth paying the extra.

Congrats!! Sandalford on a job well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!

• Camera PLEASE! (Written by Julie , 6 March 2011)

Awesome Saturday night!  Buble was a true entertainer!

Some positive inputs:

The sides screen could be bigger please :)

Also I am now CONFUSED, on the pre-concertemail was mentioned no camera (I read in the previous comments that a lady was asked to leave her camera in the cloak room), so I didn't bring mine, yet people walked around with their cameras and as everybody can see down below we are asked to post our shoots?! Concert goers should be allowed their cameras in my humble opinion.

Would see you again Michael!

Until next time :)

• Michael buble (Written by Joanne , 5 March 2011)
Concert was fantastic, MB certainly did entertain. I love Sandleford as a venue. And leaving the venue was not problem, within 15 minutes we were out on West Swan Road and on our way home. The only beef I have was the fact that I have to check my camera into the cloak room, it is the same camera I have taken to EVERY Sandlford Event and never had any issues before. By the look of the shelves in the cloak room know one else got the memo about the cameras either. What made it worst was 3 different people around me had camera with bigger lenses than mine and there were not made to check them in. next time advise people of the rule changers and enforce it to all patrons.
• Michael Buble (Written by Jason , 5 March 2011)

My wife and I attended Friday at Sandalford Winery to see Mr Buble. Beacuse of a special occasion we chose to celebrate and take up the Crazy Love package, a decision not taken lightly given the cost. Crazy Love involved functions before and after the concert. Both functions were excellent with a very high standard of service and attention to detail,  pleasent pre concert entertainment in the marque with the quality of the dinner provided being high and accompanied by Sandalford estate reserve wines which were also very good. The staff levels in these functions and across the entire venue generally was high, again with close attention being paid to the job descriptions given to these great people.

Naturally 7 were a very good warm up. Michael Buble delivered a high standard performance in my view with a great range of material- everything from Frank Sinatra covers to a (with respect) hillarious grab of Michael Jackson's Billie Jean. Having had the priveledge of seeing a number of great acts including U2 recently, The Who, Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles (Subi), Billy Joel and few other seasoned acts who have been around for a while and know how to deliver their craft well, Buble and his band was right up there in my view and I would be prepared to do the whole thing again based on what we experienced. Getting in and out wasn't bad for us but I do think Sandalford need to think about how you get 15,000 or so people in out a little more quickly if possible.

If I may I would like to respond to Mr. Heydon who added his comments earlier on this forum:

I am sorry if your experience was not what you thought it should be, but a couple of points if I may sir. From where I was sat with my wife we were able to observe the events you have discussed briefly. Michael Buble came on and after his first number, spoke to the audience and invited them to come down the front to dance and party the night away, he added that security did not matter and for everyone to let their hair down. This was a mistake at such an early point in the night and to have the four meter section between the fence protecting the stage and the front row of which you were a part of flooded with people only three songd in was a problem, I was considering the prospect of having to stand for the remainder of the gig to see, something I was not happy about either that early in the performance. This was observed and recognised quickly as an issue by the security chief who was stood behind the fence in a black suit left of stage, he then signaled Buble to get those punters back to their seats which Buble did succesfuly with the help of security on our side of the fence. The concert then continued with everyone remianing in their seats until the end of the main set.

The encore signalled a relaxed approach from security to those in the back rows coming down and dancing in the areas between the stage and seating and is also the point where you were "impacted" most . My wife and I had no problem with this as we knew their were only a couple of numbers left for the band to do and we stood with everyone else. The front, second and third rows also stood as those spaces filled up. For best reasons only known to yourself you decided to be the only two to remain seated and have no view what so ever of the remaining performance as a result. When people attempted to move past you and inadvertanly come in to contact with either you or your wife because they could not see you sat down you become very agressive to the point of being unreasonable, as you will recall you then attracted the attention of security yourself for your over the top reaction to a lady simply trying to move past you- poor form by you if I may say so. You made the decision to stay seated when everyone around you was standing, you invited the situation to escalate without considering a simple solution and going with the flow of all other V.I.P's who paid the same money you did. I noted you and your wife were both able to walk back to the after concert function some 250 Metres away from the stage un aided and in a normal fashion so I will presume either of you don't have any physical disabilites that would preclude you from standing at the end of a concert for 15-20 minutes? Etiquette can be lacking by punters who attend these sort of gigs at times with talking etc during the performance but in my view there was nothing over the top last night.

If you want to know what a mosh pit is get some tickets to Metalica next time they are in town, I've done it and I can tell you it's something else. The only gig I go to where people don't come down the front for a dance is the opera productions they have at His Majestys Theatre in the city, I suggest you try that if you don't like a bit of atmosphere at the end of a gig and people having a good time with a bit of a dance to finish the night off.

I'm sorry if you,ve had a bad week or day but with the greatest of respect take a deep breath, chill out and enjoy what life has to offer and try to deal with lifes little problems in a slightly different manner.

All the best to you sir and thanks to Sandalford for a great night.

• 2nd concert (Written by Tony Moule, 5 March 2011)

We were lucky enough to go to both of these concerts :) What great staff you employ, they were genuinely enjoying their work.

Tonights concert was Fantastic. Buble sang more and was funnier. Loved how the stage was set-up. He even had a great humor about our annoying mosquitos.

Naturally 7 were Brilliant. Platium tickets on the side edges should be at a cheaper price. We had seats there last night and Not a good view.

I envy those lucky people that had VIP tickets.

What a great night! We love you Michael!!! First time to Sandalford, excellent venue for concert! Well parking organization, thanks to all the staff. You guys are awesome!

• Michael Buble on 5th March (Written by Rach Thomasson, 5 March 2011)

Just enjoyed the concert on saturday night at sandelford.....buble was very funny, wish he had sung a bit more than he did.....and wish the people sat next to us in the picnic bit at the back would have stopped talking and actually listened to the concert....some people must have money to burn if they can afford to pay for a concert and then sit there and talk all the way through it....would be alot cheaper to take a picnic to kings park and sit there instead and leave us all to listen to the concert we have gone to watch....all in all it was a good concert...not quite as good as simply red though!!!

• The Bubb's (Written by Kris , 5 March 2011)

AAAAA-mazing! What an entertainer!! And what a great choice for his opening act. We were soooo lucky to score complimentary VIP tickets through Sandalford and they certainly did not disappoint. As for people coming down front to dance... Don't hate... the man himslf invited them and then politely sent the crowd back. I thought the whole thing was just lovely. For a VIP event, there was no pretension and the staff could not have done their jobs better. Also, nice to be at an event and be able to get palatable quality wines, not crappy cheaply made rubbish. Absolutely, the night of my life so thankyou Sandalford, Naturally 7 and the ever so charming and delightful Buble!!!

Sting Reviews & Comments
• sting concert (Written by peter robinson, 1 February 2011)

Fantastic performance by all involved including the Sandleford wines estate staff. Sting was at his best yet again and the MSO brilliant! Stephen Mercurio was very flamboyant, he reminded us of the conductor in the Vicar Of Dibley ! Overall a great show and venue. Thank you.

• Sting Concert (Written by JOAN BRITTEN, 1 February 2011)

Just a great night all round . Sandalford is the best venue in W.A  we have been to many but Sting was one of the best absolutely fantastic.

My only gripe was the amount of people walking about during the performance, why pay to see someone and not sit and watch.

• Sting Concert (Written by Debbie , 29 January 2011)

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire night. We were very happy with our platinum seating tickets (though the seats were just too close to each other) and the public transport arrangements getting to Sandalford Winery were great.  Unfortunately we found the bar was only selling limited Sandalford wines and as such we were disappointed we could not purchase any premium wine on the night.  However we thought Sting and the MSO were just absolutely fantastic. It was a beautiful summer night and we really enjoyed ourselves.   It took a while to get a bus back to the train station and luckily we only had to wait 10 mins for the next train, why though only a 2-3 seat car train?  I did feel for the people after us who had to wait 40 mins for the next train.

We will certainly return to this lovely venue.

WOW! What an amazing concert!!! My husband and I were very lucky to have fantastic seats in the Reserved Seating section and also surrounded by Sting fans who quietly watched the show, as mesmorised as we were! Sting is a true artist, down to Earth, gorgeous, extremely talented!! The MSO blended so beautifully with his voice, bringing tears to my eyes. The best concert I've ever been to! Congratulations also to Sandalford who organised the event beautifully. Plenty of facilities, fantastic location, never had to wait long in lines for food, wine, toilets, entry. We had a shuttle bus to and from the vines so was very, very quick and easy. Thank you Sandalford, thank you MSO and most of all THANK YOU to the brilliant man himself, STING!! ....just wish I could do it all again!

• sting (Written by lauren kiddie, 27 January 2011)

totally fantastic went with my brother and dad and we all had a fab time sting sang old and new which made us all happy never been to a concert where you can sit on a rug relax and drink wine, everyting tasted lovely and the entertainment was brilliant would definatly go again :)

• Sting concert (Written by Geraldine Riggir, 27 January 2011)

Excellent evening all round, once again Sandalford has organized a great event right down to the finest point - thank you Sandalford and to all who were involved in making our evening so special

• Sting (Written by sheri , 27 January 2011)

We loved the venue and the concert, however it was marred by over zealous security men who decided that my husband was intoxicated and had been dancing on the stage!!!!!!!  He could no sooner get up on the stage than get near it  -  unfortunately our protests were unheard and he was marched off to spend half an hour at the entrance gate.  Eventually he was allowed to re-join us after security discovered they had the wrong man.  Video footage proved they had mistaken the identity of the culprit.  My husband took it all in good spirits and we laughed about the idea of him dancing on the stage - I guess we will remember that more than Sting unfortunately.

• Sting Concert (Written by Simone Taylor, 26 January 2011)

I have been a huge fan of The Police and Sting for many years and, of course, I was not disappointed by Sting.  What an amazing performer and since you had the big screens up I am happy to say how lovely it was to look at him all night!!  Hot or what!  The MSO was brilliant and Jo Lawry was awesome.  The venue was stunning.  It was easy to get a picnic spot, and I was impressed with the array of food and coffee vans available.  There was no queues for the bar but I would have to agree with the others that the wine, athough nice, was SO overpriced.  I think it would be great to make a seating choice of VIP 'without the fancy food and drinks' for those like me who are there for the music and would like to be closer yet can't really afford the cost of the VIP tickets.  All in all though, I had a wonderful night!

• Sting (Written by Darryl Edwards, 26 January 2011)
What a fantastic night. Was a bit worried at the couple of drops of rain as my wife has suggested bringing a raincoat but I dismissed it. Sting was, as always, a brilliant performer and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra did a fantastic job together with the other performers. Parking on arrival was well organised but it cannot be said for exiting. 45 minutes to get to the main road. The three people directing the traffic had no idea what they were doing as they were obviously overwhelmed by all the traffic. Other than that had a great night and am looking forward to Michael Buble.
• Sting in Concert with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (Written by Valma Blake, 25 January 2011)

Have been to many concerts at Sandalford in the past in the General Admission area, absolutely love STING so treated ourselves to VIP tickets. This is most definitely the way to go. Endless canapes and wine or beer  to consume pre show, complimentary bottle to enjoy during the show, post show function and being seated amongst people who want to enjoy the performer and NOT TALK THROUGH THE ENTIRE SHOW!!!!!  The only negative was no cake or chocolates left by the time we walked from our seating back up to the VIP area after the show. Thanks Sting and Sandalford for a memorable night.

• Sting Concert (Written by Nat , 25 January 2011)

This was the first time for us at Sandalford and we had a fantastic night, we were up from the country and have come home full of praise for the way the venue handled the concert.  Unfortunately we to had a group of girls that talked through most of the concert and it would have been nice to hear sting sing one song without them talking through it.  But as for Sting and the orchestra them selfs absolutely fantastic the sound was fantastic and it was great to be able to appreciate such talent from all on stage.  We have tickets to Buble down south and can only hope that this event is run with the profesionalism of the Perth event. Well done to all involved will definately be looking out for more events and bringing friends with us THANKS.

• Sting (Written by Tania , 25 January 2011)

Amazing!!! We had a great time very well organised. Sting is just fantastic the way he presents himself is wonderful.  I am extremely looking forward to Michael Buble' now also. Thank you again

• Sting (Written by Robert , 25 January 2011)

With VIP tickets access and egress were excellent, staff fantastic. Bit hit and miss for nibbles. Concert was good with MSO being brilliant.

the venue is superb but can understand the complaints regarding talkative morons,

• Sting - just brilliant (Written by Felicity Hill, 25 January 2011)

'Sting' - what an amazing performer and the Melbourne Symphony complimented his performance and were outstanding...the soloist wonderful.

The venue and night fabulous and the event staff friendly and helpful.

The only negative aspect of this evening was the alcohol fuelled antisocial behaviour that we witnessed. This term has often been associated with younger crowds but the behaviour of this thirty something age group that we were unfortunately seated near was appalling.
No respect for self, no respect for the other concert attendees and certainly no respect for 'Sting' and his performance.

Paying $400 for reserved seats I thought we may have avoided this and as this was a gift for my husband's birthday it was disappointing...........

Perhaps closing the bar at the onset of the main performance should be considered and as suggested by another concert attendee.......TALKING DURING PERFORMANCES IS GROUNDS FOR EVICTION.

• Sting (Written by Bernard Sweeny, 25 January 2011)

Another fantastic concert at Sandalford. The facities, parking, are very well organised.Thank you.

The actual concert by Sting was to say the least an outstanding perforance and the MSO were also fantastic.

In a perfect setting at Sandalford the best venue in Perth for any concert.

• Sting (Written by Leanne Snelling, 25 January 2011)

What an amazing concert, and amazing venue !   The Melbourne Symphony was phenomenal, and the maestro was an inspiration.

Pity about the yobbos who decided to talk (shout) through the entire performance.  Can you not refrain from your drunken carry ons for one night ?

Security needs to act swiftly and remove them, you can't reason with a drunk.

Other than that, a fantastic night !!

• Sting (Written by Bevan , 24 January 2011)

Great concert!!!  Sting was amazing, even better than expected.  His backing vocalist sang a brilliant duo and complemented Sting so well throughout the night.  The artists really delivered to the audience.

The shuttle bus made transportation a breeze and I would definitely use it again.  The event staff we had contact with were helpful and used their initiative to reduce waiting times which is much appreciated.  A delineated area for rugs, low back and high back chairs would be helpful.  Some low back chairs obscure the view for patrons with rugs so it isn't a particularly compatible grouping.

All in all, great concert, venue and logistics.

• Sting Concert (Written by Maree , 24 January 2011)

The Sting Concert was my first at Sandalford & won't be my last,he was amazing, & so was the orchestra. My only complaint was waiting for a taxi for an hour & a half afterwards. Thanks for a great night

• Sting concert (Written by Suzanne Teasdale, 24 January 2011)

Inspirational: I feel in love with Sting all over again. Truely amazing performer, generous, honest and dynamic!

Sandalford was sublime, beautiful, easy to enter and exit, no hassle at all. Plenty of loos, efficient bar service and stunning grounds.

Amazing night, thank you.

• sting concert (Written by andrew , 24 January 2011)

Fabulous concert. No problem with the organisation or the facilities. My only gripe is with people in high backed chairs sitting in the low backed chair area.

Security came too late and asked them to move and they refused saying there was no space left further back- security need to be vigilent in asking these people to move before they settle in.

• Sting Concert (Written by Tracy , 24 January 2011)

Absolutely loved this concert.  Sting was brilliant as was his band, the Orchestra, conductor (most entertaining) and Jo Lawry.  Sandalford is such a beautiful venue.  We sat near the lake which was a great spot other than the generators we could hear in the background.  My only suggestion is an improvement in the traffic control at the end of the concert.  After getting in our car it took us 40 minutes before we could get out of the Sandalford grounds.  Kind of put a dampner on the amazing night of entertainment we had.

• Sting Concert (Written by Laurie Delahunty, 24 January 2011)

A really great show however there are a coup[le of things which would have made the evening even more enjoyable.

1) There was no real separation between the high back and low back chairs areas which meant that as we had low back chairs all we could really see was the backs of peoples heads.

2) The two monitor screens were sited to low which meant that we could not watch the show at all.

The accoustics were very good and getting in and out of the venue was not to bad, hopefully when we come to see Santana in a few weeks time the seeting arrangements could be better organised.

• Sting - what a performance! (Written by Andrea , 24 January 2011)

Fantastic evening, saw sting last year when he was performing with The Police, he is an amazing talent. VIP area was much better now with the new promoter Zaccaria, food at times was a bit hit and miss at times. But overall well worth the price of the VIP tickets, have been several times and my husband and I would only go VIP. A good point was made earlier about merchandise, having a merchandise area would be a great idea, although they were selling programmes. Parking was so easy and leaving was a breeze.

Sandlefords has to be one of the best if not the best venue in Perth, Can't wait to see who the icon person/band is that will be announced soon.

• Sting (Written by Janet , 24 January 2011)

What an absolutely fantastic concert - one of the most enjoyable I have been to. Great to see and hear Sting perform with the orchestra and Jo Lawry was also fantastic. It was good to be able to get access through acrod with my sister who is on crutches with 3 broken bones, without this I doubt whether she would have been able to attend the concert. Thank you Sandalford.

• Sting Concert (Written by Julia , 24 January 2011)

Absolutely amazing! Loved every minute of it! Sting’s voice and performance was faultless. The Orchestra and Jo Lawry were fantastic and really added to the show as a whole.

• Sting (Written by Michelle James, 24 January 2011)

Fantastic gig. He is the ultimate professional. Loved the arrangements. The venue was great and the sound was very good The screens could have been larger..Great Concert overall.

• Sting & the MSO (Written by Jason , 24 January 2011)

Wonderful,Wonderful evening. Must say didn't have any issues with the rude arrogant talkative people as mentioned a few times. The GA was excellent value kicking back and enjoying a fantastic evening. Great facilities , no line ups, great staff. One of the best concerts I have been too and Sandleford should have more, more concerts as you cannot beat the natural sound and a great venue for concerts. Sting-great show and the MSO were fantastic. You will see me again for sure. Rob Thomas at Sandleford - now I would like to see that!!!!

• Sting concert - access for people with disabilities (Written by Stuart Evans, 24 January 2011)

Concert was superb - great performances by Sting, Jo Lawry and MSO. One of the best concerts I've been to

However, not so impressive was the organisation around transportation. I was sporting the latest look in a broken ankle which was not a problem on arrival. Our taxi was allowed through the barriers to a spot 20m from the entrance without much hesitation or fuss. Departing was not such a pleasant experience. A security guard called on his radio on numerous occasions and even sent some of his colleagues to try and get a taxi back to that same spot. We had no issue with waiting for the bulk of the crowd to disperse and waiting our turn for a taxi. The problems with taxis in Perth are well known so a delay was to be expected but we waited nearly 90 mins and then finally I had to make the treacherous trek through the sand on crutches to the taxi rank. A lady in a motorised wheelchair suffered the same fate - it would have been an 'interesting' experience had she got bogged!!. She, by the way, was still there when we finally left because no 'maxi taxi' could or would come to the winery.

My leg will recover and I'll happily walk to the taxi or car next time, but I feel Sandalford and Zaccaria need to think a lot more about how people with disabilities get in and out of their venues. Just the slightest bit of flexibility and consideration would have fixed this problem

• Talkers and Sting (Written by Cliff , 24 January 2011)

TALKING DURING PERFORMANCES IS GROUNDS FOR EVICTION!

Signs like this should be plastered all over outdoor concert venues. I have attended many outdoor concerts over the years, not one has been without talkers who seem to think that the topic of their conversation is more important than either the performance or the other patrons enjoyment, who have to listen to their obnoctious ramblings. I refuse to attend  outdoor concerts at King's Park anymore, it's just not worth it. At least at Sandalford I can buy a reasonably priced seat. Unfortunately this does not preclude inconsiderate morons, but at least it's less likely.

People in Perth have not yet been educated in concert ettiquet and it's high time they were. Yes, you will get an outcry, but I garauntee it wil come from the guilty parties.

By the way the Sting concert was sublime! World Class!

• Sting & the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (Written by Kerri Buurman, 24 January 2011)

What a wonderful combination of music and musicians! My husband and I sat in the reserved seating area surrounded by great people all enjoying what was a brilliant concert. Sting himself has always been an awesome performer but to listen to his music with the MSO backing was a truely extraordinary experience and one we will remember for many years to come. To listen to music that physically moves you is a wonderful feeling. We also noticed how much easier it was to arrive and depart the venue in compared to previous concerts, so well done to Sandalford for the improvement in that area. We look forward to many more fabulous events in the future! Thanks a million!!

• Brilliant Sting Concert at Sandalfords (Written by Adrienne Foster, 24 January 2011)

The Sting concert was brilliant.  Fantastic performance by the amazingly talented STING.

The Melbourne Symphony orchester was sublime and Jo Lawry wonderful.

The sound system was excellent.  This was a great concert.

Well organised by Sandlafords.

• Sting concert (Written by Jan , 24 January 2011)

Sting's performance was one of the best I have seen, even if the start was a bit shaky.  It is unfortunate that we had a big white banner (lawn and low chairs only)  in front of us that obscured the stage during the support act and all the preliminaries.  Every official looking person we asked about removing it said it couldn't be done.  A patron removed it only to have a security person replace it until it was finally removed for good.  I am sure there must be another way to get the message across about where to sit.  The other negative in an overwhelmingly positive night was the lack of  courtesy shown.  Are people in WA so ignorant that they don't know that concert etiquette requires you to stay seated duirng the performance?  It was very distracting to have people moving in front of you (often the same people going backwards and forwards) all through the performance.  Half the time they were so drunk they couldn't stand up.  Please Sandalford make a few announcements about how to behave - it shouldn't be necessary but apparently it is.  Enough has been said about the traffic management.

• Sting and the Diesel Generators. (Written by Mark , 24 January 2011)

Wow Sandalford!- a very impressive set of generators to the rear of the stage! The gen sets often exceeded the volume of the orchestra, which probbaly wasnt too bad given that despite both Sting and the Orchestra being on good form, they weren't gelling very well at all (a result of this being the first time they have played together?).

• How goods was Sting concert (Written by Giang , 24 January 2011)
Loved it! what a beautiful night it was .... has been to concerts at Sandaford before, but Sting's concert was truly the best one thus far.  We sang and danced with Sting, his bamd and the MSO.... how good was it. However, as usual the nightmarish  with exiting the venue. Come on Sandaford, please put in some thoughts into organising safety exit strategies from the car park for your patrons. We will be back and recommend Sandaford is one of the best venue to attending concerts at in Perth.
• Sting Concert Feedback (Written by Malcolm Allen, 24 January 2011)
Our first concert at Sandalford. Sting was excellent as were his band, the orchestra and Jo the singer from Adelaide. We were very disappointed with the chairs which were small and very uncomfortable. We sat to the right of the stage as you look at it and had to endure the noise of people in the grassed area to our right who kept standing up and were never really kept under control by the event staff. We asked a staff member at the interval to do something but to no avail for the second half. Like many others we had people behind us talking all the way through but understand that Sandalford's can't control that. Fortunately the concert outshone the negative parts of our experience and not sure we would go again with the chairs and noise factors spoling an otherwise great venue.
• Great - shame about the people who dopn't know how to behave in a a concert (Written by Bec Coston, 24 January 2011)
Sting was awesome, band and orchestra were amazing. We even parked and exited without any problems (the 2nd exit seemd to work very well out the back!!) What really upsets me are the people who pay $130 to come and talk ALL the way through the 3 hour performance. We had 2 women (middle aged, drunk too much) behind us who talked in loud voices about how much they loved Sting ALL the way through. Then they would sing out of key and the wrong words and WHOOP through some of the quietest parts. Also can people learn concert manners - when a violinist is playing solo it is not an invitation to talk loudly to your friends - just be polite and listen!!! I cannot understand why people just don't go down the pub rather than pay money to see an artist. Thanks Sandalford - great concert.
• STING CONCERT 22/1/11 (Written by SUE , 24 January 2011)
It had been a number of years since attending my last concert.  Well this was the perfect return, I was mesmerised from begining to end.  He is the consumate entertainer.  I was amazed at his energy, stage presence, his ability to tell the story and his exquisite voice ... I knew he had a great voice, but his voice was AMAZING.  The setting of Sandalfords Winery was beautiful.  When Sting returns to Perth in the future I will be there to once again have an evening of splendour. Thank you Thank you so much the concert was worth every cent.
• Sting Concert (Written by Rosemary Medrala, 24 January 2011)
My fourth time at a Sandalford concert and by far the best value for money. Sting was very generous with his time. His performance was brilliant and it was wonderful to note that his voice hasn't been ravaged by the passing of the years. The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra were magnificent, as were Jo Lawrie and the principal musicians. Sandalford is an exquisite venue. We gained entrance early and, as usual, no problems with parking arrangements. We sat behind the VIP railings even though our view was distorted. The ushers clearly stated that we were not allowed to use our director chairs, the designated area for them WAS clearly marked, and so we opted for a blanket. I see the price of wine is still extortionate. Sandalford you should be ashamed of yourselves. Why the mark-up? If patrons are not allowed to bring their own beverages, then please be more lenient. Perth concert audiences are becoming more like Indonesians, having little etiquette during the performance and no regard for other patrons. They talk throughout the performance and continually walk in front of audience members. As previous commentators have mentioned, why bother coming to a concert? You obviously didn't appreciate the music.  Exiting the venue was the usual fiasco. For the first time we exited through the main gates. It was slightly more organised than before and, fortunately, we were in no hurry. The wardens have improved somewhat. Most drivers were patient but others ignorant. all in all a great concert.
• Fantastic concert (Written by Sue Benjamin, 24 January 2011)
First time to Sandalford - amazing concert - staff very helpful BUT you must do something about the chairs before the next concert - just not acceptable for a world class premier event.  See you next time for Michael Buble with better seating I hope!!
• STING!!! (Written by Michelle & Andrew , 23 January 2011)
What an amazingly awesome experience.  Sting would be one of the worlds greatest performers.   The MSO accompanied him to a treat with the conducter putting in such effort and passion.  The sound was superb.  What more could one ask for than sitting back on a balmy night, listening to such fantastic music in such a wonderful location on the banks at Sandalford.  This has been our 4th concert at Sandalford and would have to say it has been the best so far.   Will definitely be back.  This is the only way to see a concert in Perth.  Only complaint is that the price of the wine is extreme which is a negative.
• Sting concert (Written by Julie Halton, 23 January 2011)
Fantastic evening.  Very mellow and relaxed.  Sting was outstanding.  My only concern is the lack of clear evacuation procedures for what would have been a crowd of 12,000 people.  No announcements, nothing.  This is something that needs to be looked into before the next concert takes place.
• Sting Concert (Written by Rhonda Bowman, 23 January 2011)
I will be talking about the Sting concert for a long time to come. It was FABULOUS. I was in GA and consider that part of the concert experience of Sandalford is picnicking on the grass. It was quick and easy to get a bottle of wine to enjoy with our picnic with efficient and courteous staff. I didn't even have to line up to use the toilets! Sting was fantastic. As a fairly new fan of Sting i found thoroughly enjoyed the performance and having the MSO accompany him made it an even more wonderful experience. What an amazing performer. Thank you Sandalford for a wonderful experience.
• Sting and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (Written by Rick Waddacor, 23 January 2011)
Well, what a truly amazing Concert at a fabulous venue!! It was an amazing experience and Sting was everything we hoped he would be - a truly inspirational performer / entertainer...
• Sting Concert (Written by Jenny Williams, 23 January 2011)
Sting was superb - an awesome performance, Jo Lawry was amazing & the MSO was breathtaking.  An absolutely sensational concert & a beautiful night in the Swan Valley.  We thoroughly enjoyed the experience & found the entry, parking & services to be very well organised.  The only thing that detracted from our evening were some people behind us who insisted on speaking loudly through both halves of the performance.  If you want to talk with background music, go to a restaurant not a concert!  I would like to suggest that Sandalford include in their pre-performance notices on the screens that people respect others' right to enjoy the concert and not talk during the performance.  I was surprised at how disorganised the traffic management was on leaving, given how well organised it was on the way in.  Perhaps more traffic wardens are needed on exit than on entry.  Thanks Sandalford for a great evening.
• Amazing concert! (Written by Trina , 23 January 2011)
First time at Sandalford and seeing Sting, thought it was all really well done. MSO were fantastic, was a brilliant concert. I had absolutely no problems with parking (getting in or out), so was surprised by some of the other comments, but we did wait a bit before trying to leave.
• Sting Concert (Written by Iris , 23 January 2011)
My first ever concert at Sandalford Winery, and what a wonderful evening we had!!! Sting was fantastic, the venue superb, drinks and food available, toilets, etc all measured up beautifully. Well done to the events coordinators. A superb night. Thank you. I will be back that's for sure!!!!
• Sting Concert (Written by Liz , 23 January 2011)
Sting was absolutely flawless, it was the best concert I have been to for a long time.  The only downside was the GA seating, perhaps a ban on ALL chairs would be a better solution so that EVERYONE can get a clear view and a few extra and larger screens to benefit the patrons sitting at the back.
• Sting Concert (Written by Julie Desport, 23 January 2011)
This was our first event at Sandalford and it was wonderful.  Sting was totally awesome, along with his band and the Melbourne SO.  Queues for the toilets were not too bad and moved quickly, the bar was pretty good too.  Getting out is awful but I don't think there is much that can be done about this.  My only real gripe was the cost of the wine.  $25 for Elements - come on Sandalford, who are you kidding, you can buy this for $10-$12 - you have complete control over what we buy and are clearly ripping customers off.  Shame on you - very disappointing!!!!!!
• Sting Concert (Written by Shelagh Renney, 23 January 2011)
Brilliant performance by Sting, his back up singer, MSO etc.,  No complaints at all in that regard.  Visiting the loo on arrival at 4.30 it was disappointing to find no liquid soap in the holder.  I proceeded to 4 other loos in search of liquid soap - all empty AT 4.30!!!!!!  Getting out in vehicle frustrating at the end of the show - an extremely long wait with patience being the virtue (pity other drivers couldn't be so patient!!!)
• Sting Concert (Written by Dee , 23 January 2011)
Absolutely fabulous songwriter, singer and entertainer.  Sting is a true professional, we loved that he shared his motivation and story behind some of the songs he's written.  The whole ambience of the evening was just perfect.  One of the best concerts yet.  Parking on the way in very organised, but mmmmm exiting is a whole different story.  Lots of disorganisation and pushing in :-(
• Sting Concert (Written by Ang , 23 January 2011)
This is now my second concert at Sandalford, our first was Robin Gibb which was fantastic, we sat in the platinum section (seats a little too close) and getting out of the venue was very well organised.  And now Sting who was amazing, we sat further back this time in our low chairs and really enjoyed the night, the only draw back was at the end, it took us 45 minutes to exit (no movement at all). Drivers were trying desperately to find a way out. Great venue but exiting needs to be looked at.
• STING - What a great performer! (Written by Maxine , 23 January 2011)
I've been a fan for over 30 years since I lived in London. It was a wonderful evening and great to hear a reinvention of Sting's work. It was great to see Dominic at Sting's side again. He's a great guitarist. My gripes: small seats that were too close together, (even though I'm a small person, I felt like I was sitting on the thighs of the person next me!). Every time the woman next to me moved her head, she kept whipping me in the face with her ponytail!  My main gripe is the rudeness of mainly the VIP's that drifted constantly up and down in front of my Platinum A row seat during the performance to presumably relieve their overloaded bladders. I've never seen anything like this be allowed at any performance I've ever seen. Do Sandalford realise this activity, particularly the volume, would be visible to the artists on stage? There was an intermission, and people still kept drifting in front of me. Why are you there if you feel the need to leave your seat during a performance? Come back soon Sting. Hopefully to a venue that appreciates you and doesn't allow that sort of nonsence to happen. Oh, regarding parking. I'd never been before but was pleasantly surprised to get in and out pretty easily. Guys, go live in London and try getting out of what was Wembley Stadium. We're blessed here.
• Sting Concert (Written by Alison Caporn, 23 January 2011)
Sting was absolutely fantastic, singing all of his wonderful songs. The only negative was the inconsiderate people who sat in HIGH BACK CHIARS in the middle of the considerate people on BLANKETS and LOW BACK CHAIRS. The security guards left it TOO LATE in telling them to move to the back. Your signage needs improving, take a leaf out of the Kings Park venue with signage and white marks on the ground so you know exactly where to sit.I am coming to the Barry Manilow concert in April and I hope you have improved your seating arrangements by then.
• Sting (Written by kathy tunnicliffe, 23 January 2011)
We flew down from the Northwest for this and boy were we glad we did. Fantastic evening. Every performer was brilliant and loved to see how much of a perfectionist Sting still is. VIP was great but unfortunately because we were sitting out the back a little most of us out there did miss out on a lot of the food platters. Even with all the free flowing alcohol people were pretty well behaved and security did a much better job than at Simply Red, so Well Done Sandalford We will be back again!
• Sting at Sandleford (Written by pauline hunt, 23 January 2011)
Wow Sting never dissapoints. a brilliant concert,  a good venue we had decent seats.. having bought them through the Sting fanclub. . my only gripe is the ignorant people who get up and walk around whilst artists are performing?? and in the vip section.. they just concerning themselves in buying more wine.. guys if you dont wanna listen to the man sing, dont go!! you dont need booze to have a great evening!!!!
• Sting Concert (Written by Jan Urbini, 23 January 2011)
I was so lookiing forward to this concert.  Sting is my favourite performer, whether it's with the rest of the Police, playing his lute at the Perth Concert Hall or out front of the MSO at Sandalford. My husband and I arrived at about 5.15 p.m., found a parking spot and walked to our entry gate.  Although the walk from the carpark to the gate was not well signposted with directions, the general flow of people was an indication that we were heading in the right direction.  The staff at the platinum ticket entry were very polite and helpful, as were all the events and bar staff that I came in contact with.  Our seats were well situated with a clear view to the stage, as long as the people in front weren't too tall,or stood up!  The MSO and all the other performers were magniificent, and I hope they enjoy performing with Sting as much as we do watching them.  Sting was amazing and I just wanted to sit there and watch, listen, clap, cheer, even dance when everyone else stood up.  What a shame that my husband and I were surrounded by people who quite obviously don't attend many other live performances, otherwise they would understand that there is such a thing as theatre etiquette, even in an open air performance space.  Unfortunately my evening was blemished by the rudeness and selfishness of other attendees.  If anyone dared to ask them to please be quiet, and there were quite a few of them asking, we were accused of ruining their fun!  Their behaviour and loudness was certainly alcohol induced and it was disappointing that they were not thinking as responsible adults.  I certainly hope that none of them were driving home from the event.  They were quite capable of ruining someone elses evening in far worse ways by getting behind the wheel of a car. I will remian a Sting fan forever.  That will never change.
• Sting concert (Written by Kevin Jones, 23 January 2011)
Fantastic concert last night. Went with my wfie and our daughters and had a great night. Only negatives is that high back chair people were sitting too far do far down in GA area but the low back chair area could have been better defined- more flags in a line possibly. The exit out was 45 mins (we are from Bunbury and were staying at Rose & Crown 6km away!) maybe looking at how the cars flow out of the parking area lines may help but sheer volume means there is only so much that can be done. First time at a concert at Sandalford and extremely impressed by set up.  Bar staff very efficient and courteous (some customers could have learnt some manners from the staff). Food stalls were great- we all had something different. The carry bag and ice is a great idea from the bar. Overall fantatsic night. And for those who insist on talking throughout a concert - stay home!
• Comment (Written by Julie Sunley, 23 January 2011)
The concert was outstanding, the venue is the best place to hold concerts as it is a natural amphitheatre and ensures the best experience for music.   The only downside is leaving the concert following the show in your car, it appears to be a free for all with no traffic management, I know they advise people to travel by public transport but it depends on the distance etc. That is only my negative comment on what is my favourite venue for concerts.
• Sting 22 Janaury 2011 (Written by Zara , 23 January 2011)
Brilliant show. Fantastic set up. We were in the VIP section and the food was lovely. Parking was a breeze and we took our time leaving and avoided any back up in traffic. Were home SOR in 25 minutes. Only tiny gripe was not having merchandise in the VIP section which required a long walk to the general section then security umming and aahhhing about letting us out to get back into the VIP section. Need to organise security to know how to deal with VIPs in the general section or get merchandise down to the VIP area. This was our first event at the Sandalford, but it will definately wont be our last. Big thumbs up.
• String Review (Written by Glenn , 23 January 2011)
What a night!  It was amazing to hear iconic song after iconic song beautifully recreated with the orchestra.  The contrast for the last song was great ... Just Sting and his guitar in full autopilot mode singing one of the most recognisable and played songs in history!  Even with all of his mistakes on the riff, standing 50 meters away from Sting as he played Message in a Bottle is a memory that I will hang on to tightly.  View from the Platinum seats was great, but the seats were ridiculous ... very cramped and made it difficult for all to just sit back and relax.  Parking was no problems, out within 10 minutes ... and we only waited a few minutes after the concert end to leave.
• Sting Concert (Written by Gené Stephan, 23 January 2011)
A tough act to follow for any other artist who rolls into town. His music, professionalism and relaxed and honest connection with his audience is superseded only by his generous three-hour performance. Sandalford provided a superb backdrop.
• STING CONCERT (Written by Mel , 23 January 2011)
Oh my Gawd! My husband and I and some of our friends went along and thought the concert was wonderful - loved the music, Sting is always, always brilliant! A truly fantastic live artist and never (ever) disappoints. (Leeuwin was even better!) The Orchestra was truly amazing and the Conductor! - wow that poor lad must be exhausted.  Pity the screens were so small. Very enjoyable evening, very relaxing. Come again PLEASE! PLEASE!  We really didn't enjoy exiting the facility which was not very well organised.
• sting concert (Written by roy , 23 January 2011)
A great concert , really enjoyed it The food in the vip tent looked good, but didnt get to taste much of it, the plates were empty by the time they got to me, a very hit and miss affair. the staff were good very helpful, but they were very busy
• Sting (Written by peggy Sapwell, 23 January 2011)
Wonderful show.  We've seen Sting before and he keeps getting better and better.  After having read all the above comments there appears to be very little mention of the screens.  YES they need to be MUCH larger.  ALSO, between songs, why did they go to a crazy paving pattern?  I would have very much preferred to see the orchestra doing what they do between songs, or watched Sting or Jo doing what they do between songs.  We had no trouble getting out of the parking at the end of the night - so, bravo to the parking team.  Loved the venue, pleased with the services.
• STING! (Written by Lisa Reynolds, 23 January 2011)
A fantastic show - loved every minute of it. He looked like he was really enjoying himself too which was great!
• Sting - Perfection (Written by Michelle Beaven, 23 January 2011)
Sting and the MSO, with Jo Lawry also on vocals was outstanding. The sound quality was excellent, allowing the audience to hear every word Sting sang clearly, his diction and vocal strength amazing and as many have commented, has surely got better with age. A true professional. Sandalford was well organised (this is the second concert I have attended). Only negative was getting out at the end. Although everyone had plenty of warning about the amount of time it would take to leave the venue (and I am sure most people are understanding of this), it just seemed there was no direction from staff with cars going every which way to find the exit! Public transport was not an option from where we live unfortunately either. I also had a couple of guys talking at the top of their voices right behind me and they got louder as the night went on which was a bit annoying but overall everyone was having a great time. Thanks to the security for moving on those arrogant guests who kept creeping down to STAND at the front on the general admission area at the right of the stage, therefore blocking everyone's view including ours - and we were even quite a way back. If you want to be at the front pay the price and get a VIP ticket I say. Come back to Perth again Sting!
• Sting at Sandalford (Written by Dawn Morgan, 23 January 2011)
A truly memorable evening. Sting was as amazing as ever with a brilliant choice of songs. The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, the fabulous female vocalist & Sting's band blended together perfectly. We treated ourselves to the VIP package & it was faultless. The only complaint is the selfish couple behind us who chatted in loud voices continuously throughout the night even after being asked on several occasions to be quiet. Why do these people bother to go to a concert?!  Well done Sandalford.
• STING (Written by Michele , 23 January 2011)
First time in reserved seating at Sandalford. Outstanding!! The weather was perfect and the total package was awesome. Sting, band, Jo and MSO together were unbeatable.
• Sting (Written by Gemma , 23 January 2011)
Brilliant concert, it's the third time I've seen Sting and he is always brilliant. The only thing Sandalford needs to get sorted is the car park exit. It's really not up to standard. Think of how easy it is to get out of Leeuwin Concert and there's only one road in and out !! Waiting in gridlock for 50 mins is a bit embarrassing Most people were pretty good natured about it but it's made us think twice about coming back...it let down what really is otherwise, a world class event.
• Sting concert (Written by Anne-Marie Keightley, 23 January 2011)
Wonderful fab and all the usual plaudits to Sting and the Orchestra. I think the stage could have been a bit higher for my liking ( I am short and my view to the stage was completely blocked in Platinum seating.) I also agree leaving strategy was not as organised as it could be.
• Sting Concert at Sandalford (Written by Nelly Thompson Thompson, 23 January 2011)
Marvellous evening.  Sound, venue and atmosphere was perfect.  Sting is a real professional,  Pleae come back again.
• Photos !! (Written by Alan Copleston, 23 January 2011)
Absolutly fantastic show we have never been disapointed with a show at this venue and we have been to a lot starting with the day on the green series. Sting was all we expected plus a bit;  however Phots's! don't you read your tickets - no cameras. maybe you would get more photos if you deleted that from the ticket.  Parking is always a bit of a problem - we just hang around and take it easy for a while after the concert, ( there realy is no rush to get out is there) and most of the traffic has gone by the time we get to the car,
• Sting (Written by Shannon , 23 January 2011)
What a fantastic event. Sting and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra were just amazing. The only thing that let Sandalford down was the poorly organised exit from the car park - surely an easier way would have been to continue driving forward in the direction way we were asked to park (so last in first out)???
• Sting (Written by Linda , 23 January 2011)
Had a fantastic time last night! Sting was great and wow his voice seems to have got better with age. Really lovely setting and services were great there.Crowd was really enjoying the show, the orchestra were fantastic. Only negative was getting out, people sat very patiently and in a good mood in their cars. Only trouble no car had moved an inch for 45 mins ! Then it turned into people power, a barrier was moved by a few guys to allow traffic out, it went so much smoother then! People were holding the rope up for other cars to get out., everyone was having a laugh. We were listening to a  Police cd in our car it ended up being fun!
• Sting Concert (Written by Mary , 23 January 2011)
Magic Evening!  Fantastic performances, wonderful venue, well organised.  Now all you need is a small railway link between yourselves and Perth station to take care of those parking queues.
• Sting concert (Written by Helen , 23 January 2011)
Sting- Sex on legs! What a talented performer and musician. Loved the concert, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra were brilliant and the amazing singer from Adelaide beautifully complimented Sting's unique voice together breathing new life in to classic Police/Sting songs. Well done Sandleford! You made 12000 guests very welcome !
• Sting & the MSO (Written by Michelle Watson, 23 January 2011)
What a gorgeous night!! Music was breathtaking! We were awestruck by the MSO, the band, Jo Lawry and of course STING!! The breeze was a welcome relief and the Indian food delicious. Impressed with Sandalford's setup - very well organised. A beautiful venue. Only complaints would be those woeful plastic seats and how cramped they were. Also had to wait forever for the shuttle bus to Midland and to top it off heaps of people saw fit to quite brazenly PUSH IN the queue!! Much booing and hissing by those waiting patiently soon put an end to that. Shame on you rude people! If you had waited like us you would have noticed that the sense of fun and community in the queue was actually a nice way to end a BRILLIANT night!
• Wow Sandalford You've Done it Again (Written by Sue Gorst, 23 January 2011)
Thanks once again to Sandalford for hosting another great night with the one and only Sting. His voice, the Orchestra, the setting, superb! Can't wait for the next evening! Goosebumps all over! x
• Thumbs up for Sting (Written by Theresa , 23 January 2011)
Concert was wonderful. Sting's performance was like a fine wine - gets better with age. However, I have to agree with others that the traffic management is frustrating. There has to be a better way - apart from encouraging use of public transport which is not always convenient or accessible for all.
• Sting (Written by Jenny Crook, 23 January 2011)
It was a brilliant concert & very laid back & relaxed. The night was beautiful & balmy & it is a terrific venue & we thoroughly enjoyed going there again.  We have sat in a few places but this time we did make the mistake of sitting too far back, even though we got there fairly early, so the piddly little TV screens were way too small for good viewing & if you are on the 'flat' ground then of course people with very high chairs block your views. This would not be an issue if they erected much larger screens so why have such small screens when there is clearly enough structure for a huge ones? We were also totally gobsmacked @ how many people simply gasbagged (not quietly either) through the entire show. Everybody talks intermittently, even I do, but constantly non-stop is rather annoying. Asks the question does it not, if you don't want to listen or look why go if all you do is talk through the entire show & play games on your phone?  Perhaps being further back the music was not as loud so it was more noticeable though clearly it was also disturbing others because of the event staff chatting a few groups? Anyway, Sting was still amazing. the venue & atmosphere still fantastic & I will continue to go there & enjoy & will just remember the little issues so to avoid them next time.
• Sting-Brilliant (Written by ray waspe, 23 January 2011)
Had a brilliant eveing at Sandlefords last night watching Sting, a truly great performance. The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra was the Creme de la Creme, and Sting gets better with age.
• Sting - coolest man on earth!!! (Written by Marika Leonard, 23 January 2011)
What a great evening.  Sting and his band and the orchestra gave a fabulous performance.  What could be better than sitting in a picturesque vineyard listening to them perform?  Getting out afterwards, unfortunately, is ALWAYS a nightmare but I don't think there's much Sandalford can do about that.
• Well done Sandalford (Written by Kirsten , 23 January 2011)
I was very apprehensive driving out to Sandalford last night, fearful of  nightmare parking and queues. Well done on your organisation. Parking was very smooth, short lines for the loos even at the end of the night and a very well organised evening altogether. I'll be happily going to Sandalford again. Watch out Leuwin!
• Sting (Written by Allan , 23 January 2011)
Sting has got better with age. Certainly his voice has become stronger and his ability to hold notes and deliver a range of styles has increased way beyond the Police days. A top concert - sensational venue, well organised and run.  I will echo an earlier comment about the generators - no matter what key the song was in, the generators seemed to be running in the key of F, and it was a significant intrusion on quieter passages. Also, as a fan of Sandalford wines, I was disappointed that the range was limited to their lower end wines (and not a chardonnay in sight), but maybe that's all they have bottled in plastic. Apart from that, the event organisation was first class, and Sandalford did it well.

• Fantastic (Written by Karen Carmichael, 23 January 2011)
Concert was absolutely fantastic.  Magical night.  So beautiful.  Only negative was that we wish that someone had told the people who had brought high backed chairs & were sitting up the front to move to the back though.  Bit disappointing.  Oh, and leaving the carpark at the end of the night - 45 mins to do that.  But other than that, couldn't fault the evening, truly wonderful.
• noise (Written by Justin Tonti, 22 January 2011)
I loved the STING concert BUT... there was a loud low noise which was very distracting (had platinum ticket), especially in the softer sections.I complained to the tech's at interval. However nothing was done, and I suspect it may have been the generators? Surely this needs to be sorted!
• Sting concert (Written by Dale , 22 January 2011)
Fabulous concert - everything was superb except for the seats - did you borrow them from a primary school? Too small, too close together and certainly not comfortable
• Great evening apart from the traffic management (Written by Mark , 22 January 2011)
Brilliant and relaxing evening...possibly the most civilised evening I have ever had a a concert!...Great mixture of stings well constructed and well learned lyrics alonside a new take with the orchestra...which added much drama to some of the songs...Highlight fwere the last 3 songs that finished off a good performance... Lowlights, as ever trying to get out of the car-parks within 3 hours......come on guys, there has to be  a much better way than that to manage the traffic, there are now two significant roads to exit on...use them both....in the frustration, I saw many cars ignoring the barriers and driving through hedges to get out...and they were out in minutes rather than hours...

• Sting concert (Written by Emma Davies, 22 January 2011)
I loved sting, he was amazing but security totally ruined my night!!! We were standing in the corner near the video screen, there was no one behind us and security told us to move!!! Apparently there is no standing at the side when that is where we have stood at every concert we have been to at sandleford, including the Motown event!!!!!! I think in future it should be stated ON THE TICKET that it's a sit down concert only!! It was VERY annoying that even though we weren't in anyones way we had to move!! I was very disappointed because normally concerts at sandleford are a great experience. The only thing that saved the night for me was stings amazing show.

• Crowded House
bad start to the night! was not clearly stated that cans aren't allowed on website so had ours taken from us only to find later that other security members were not as vigilant, plenty of people managed to take cans of soft drink in and some people even had GLASS wine glasses! told staff at the end of the night and the guys response was one of my team wouldn't have let this items in must have been someone else. POOR EFFORT to the staff. was also told there were atms but there wasn't ended up using eftpos which was only available at 2 registers, spent much more than planned. CROWDED HOUSE themselves were awesome, ended up being a great concert. SANDALFORD is an absolutely gorgeous backdrop for concerts, was a pretty clear, starry night. - karen
• Well Done Sandalford!
A huge thankyou to Grant Brinklow and all of the team at Sandalford winery for a fantastic evening at the Crowded House concert. Couldn't have enjoyed our first 'baby-free' evening any more. Great music, great wine, great venue- cannot praise enough! Stacia Knox, Greenwood. - Stacia Knox
• Crowded House show
As always, Crowded Hoise were outstanding, and the a venue is a magical spot to have an open air concert. The one hou that it took us to leav ethe carpark as it disintegrated into chaos, however, is something that need to be properly addressed. Generally though, thanks for an excellent night.:) - Andrew Burton

Crowded House were awesome!!! Great mix of songs! I was so happy when we got to the venue and found out we could go right down the front and have a dance. Instead of security guards telling us we couldn't dance like on previous occasions. Let's permanently get rid of the VIP Area. Yellow is a ridiculous price, thought it was expensive at $30 a bottle at Spandau/TFF concert. Then went up at Simply Red. I guess you are encouraging people to buy Sandalford wines which are cheaper. As usual it was terrible getting a taxi out of the venue. Ended up catching a bus and 2 trains due to taxi shortage!!! - Lisa
• ...
Fantastic concert! The icing on the cake was the improved parking directions, which made leaving the venue far, far easier than the last time we were there earlier this year. - Peta Fitgerald
• What a fantastic night
Wow - the Crowdies were on exceptional form last night. Having seen Crowded House at many many venues around the world I have to say that this was the best of all. The venue is just gorgeous and even the parking didn't get to me last night! The fact that the VIP area was abandoned was inspired meaning the true fans could get up close to their heros without going into debt to achieve it. The banter missing from the 2007 Supreme Court Gardens was back and the crowd where we were rocked (not like your average Perth crowd). Well Done boys and thank you for coming back to Perth. We're already looking forward until next time! - olthomas

Our first concert at Sandalford and we were very impressed by the venue and facilities. Hardly a wait for the loos, and they were clean! We had also been warned about the 'hellish' exit at previous concerts and ended up getting dropped off and paying $$ for a driver. Quite an expensive night when you include the (very expensive) bevvies; however, money well spent I think as the exit was very smooth and we could both enjoy a few good vinos. They played all the favs and we and the people around all sang out loud. Great band!! - joanne

• Crowded House Concert 14th Nov
I LOVE CROWDED HOUSE :D I got there at 4pm to make sure I had a secure place right up front and centre!1! And boy did they make sure it was worth the 4 hour wait!!! AMAZING concert, the venue was really nice too! :) The only troublesome bit was exiting, but that's expected everywhere when 8000 people leave at once!! Really nicely set up and I would definitely go back there :-) - Jennifer

This was my first Sandalford concert experience - and what a night! I love Crowded House, especially Neil Finn and they didnt disappoint!! Neil Finn is such a great performer and he engaged with the crowd. As usual when he performs live I was bought to happy tears! What a great atmosphere. Sandalford organised the event with expertise - no long lines for toilets; bar sales; food or entry/exit. I will be definately be attending another concert - hopefully Crowded House again!! Thanks :) - Mandy Frisina

When my husband said he wanted to go to this concert I was a bit reluctant, but was pleasantly suprised by the venue, atmosphere, food and of course the performers. I even ended up dancing to the final few songs when I couldn't contain myself in my seat any longer. Since then I have been playing the BEE GEES CD in my car and can't wait to go to another concert at Sandalford! Thank you for discounting the tickets and sending out the email as we might not have gone otherwise or even known about it and would have missed out on a great night!! - ANNA

One of the best sounds we have experienced from a concert at Sandleford. Courtney was great!. I enjoyed the concert although did feel it really needed Barry to bring many of the songs to life. Robin did well, but some songs sounded like bad karioke in places. I'm wrapped to see many more concerts coming to Sandleford. Great venue and well organised!. - jo

• Robin Gibb/ Bonnie Tyler Concert in Perth 31st Oct 2010
It was our first concert at Sandleford and we didn't know what to expect, but we weren't disappointed. It was a great night. Bonnie Tyler sounded the same as she did in the 80's. Robin was a bit shaky at the start but he soon warmed up. It was a great night. The sound was good and it wasn't to crowded either. Will check out more concerts soon. - Sally Suttie

A big thank you to Sandleford as this is the 2nd concert I have attended this year. Enjoyed both of them & really appreciate the shuttle service as this makes life so much easier. Keep up the good work.:) - Yvonne Black
• Great night for die hard bee gee fan
Overall i had a great time. i think the event organizers did a great job. the shuttle bus was a good idea, but probably needed a few more really to accommodate the number of people. The first time i saw the bee gees was when i was 15 in melbourne and 4 rows from the front, so a truly magical experience. Now I'm 51 and have loved them all my life. I had a brilliant time dancing and just soaking up the atmosphere and songs. However it was pretty clear that Robins voice was woefully flat in a lot of the songs and really needed the magic of Barry's voice to make the song. He definitely got better as the night went on. So it seemed maybe he was having a bad day or hadn't warmed up. He really didn't seem too interested in connecting with the audience. The orchestra and back up singers were terrific. Bonnie Tyler was good as well. Cortney also excellent. Overall a great night and good value for money. - n. grant

• Magical Night/Sunday Night Fever!
The whole Sandalford experience was fantastic. From the car park directors to the people serving at the bar and the security people at the gates, everyone was friendly and wished my family and I a wonderful evening. The weather=PERFECT The venue = PERFECT! Courtney Murphy has great talent! Bonnie Tyler can still belt out a song that's for sure and she was fab! Robin Gibb= just wonderful. We are such big fans of the BeeGees and to see and hear Robin Gibb singing live, so near to us, is such a highlight in our lives. Thanks to the organisers and staff at Sandalford for a most magical evening we will never forget! - Wendy
• What a show!! Bouquets to all
This was our first event at Sandalfords and how amazing it was - we were very impressed by the event organisation - and the concert was just 'wow' - what a great blend of talent across the three acts and the blend of WASO, Robin, his backup singers and band was simply sensational. We were some of those oldies who did let our hair down - dancing crazily and singing all our favourites - we are both suffering çoncert hangovers today (and no alcohol was consumed by us at all!) - no voices and wobbly legs from dancing! Thank you to all - simply wonderful night!;D - Joz

Very hard to put into words, the Joy I experienced at the Concert. Courtney Murphy was great, his talent underestimated. Bonnie Tyler hasn't aged, her voice was Superb. And then, my all time favourite, ROBIN GIBB. Robin you were just Fantastic, you lit up the stage, your voice was superb, your backup singers divine and the Orchestra unbelievable!. . My girlfriend and I had the most MAGICAL experience. We danced (maybe crazily) laughed and sang along with you...Thank YOU, Robin! and Thank You, Sandalford Winery for your World Class Venue. You should be highly commended. A Fantastic job done by all the Management and Staff. Most of the concert fans were friendly, fabulous & funny, My only complaint is that it would have been great to see all the Oldies (of which I am one) let their hair down a bit, we're not over THAT Hill yet and Hey, life is just that bit too Short.. p.s. and what's the go - a Picnic Hamper with a tea-bag squeezer!! what next!:D - KAREN V
• In great form
Both Robin and Bonnie were great. Bonnie 's voice was remarkably gutsy and interesting to listen to. Robin did a great show - yes, a little flat a few times but hek, whata songbook to choose from. We danced the night waya nd had a great time. Only downer - $37 plastic bottles of Yellow sparlking wne. What the...? Outrageous rip off. - rv

My first time at Sandaford fabulous location, well run organisation, we were in front row of Gold reserve, best seat in the house better view than VIP seating, what a fantastic show, first Courtney Murphy followed by the remarkable Bonny Tyler and then Robin Gibb fantastic performance from a one man show that is used to be in a group of 3 thought he was fantastic and only got better as the night went on. Amazed as some of the comments further up think some people are too picky and you have to remember he is only one of the Bee Gees and did a great job with a fab band singers and our own WA orchastra. Well done Sandalford from the people showing the cars in for drop off, to the people showing you to your seats, to the security, well run machine - Kaye Bryan
• 'Goodonyermate'
We came, we saw, we had an awesome evening. We had excellent seats in section B5. Parking was easy, in and out, and we enjoyed our picnic tea listening to Courtney Murphy. ROBIN GIBB - what can we say, 11 out of 10 for your performance. We closed our eyes and were transported back some thirty-odd years. Your voice was like a good bottle of red - matured with age but still incredibly 'you'. Well done everybody. - Jill

It was an absolutely fantastic night. Simply Red were briliant. Marcia Hines was superb and really surprised us. All in all a great night - can't imagine why Mick Hucknall wants to give it up he is still too good to stop.... - Steve Cornwell
• Simply Red Concert
I used to listen to Simply Red quite alot, when i was 15, dance to there best songs at the disco's....never thought i would ever go to one of there concerts.....we moved to Perth and the chance came.....How fantastic and amazing Mick's voice was, he sang like it was so natural to him and quite effortless, every song perfect....so many memories came flooding back to me as a 15 year old girl again.....The venue was perfect, beautiful wine, and my hubby was the best company ...... sad that its going to be one of the last concerts he does, but wot a fantastic way to end ......Thank you for the fantastic experience, and best wishes to Mick;D - karen hall
• simply red
mick hucknall as good as ever, the venue is great, good sized bar well staffed and stocked, reasonable prices for a concert venue. Toilets ample and clean. But what let the whole night down was the total chaos of thousands of cars trying to exit through one single lane gate, 90 mins to exit a venue is no joke, no supervision a real free for all, to spew all those tired and frustrated motorists on to dark country roads is potentially lethal. I dont care if pink is playing supported by lady ga-ga with micheal jackson dishing out the wood fired pizzas-I AINT GOING BACK - sean
• The Best Ever
Thank you to all Everything was so fantastic. From the first contact via email at reception to driving out the car park after the concert was simply wonderful. It was defineately worth the VIP ticket. The parking was great. The pre-show was fantastic - food and wine amazing. All the staff was brillliant. I was on my own and defineately given special service by everyone. The atmosphere was phenomenal. The concert was the BEST EVER. I will defineately be back to Sandalford and will be VIPing from now on. It was a GREAT EXPERIENCE. Many thanks again :) - Gabby Germain

Does anyone know the name of the first artist that opened the concert-The Brilliant Girl with guitar? No one mentioned her (may be not many people were there yet). She was absolutely the perfect start for the concert-what an amazing voice and talent!Fantarlitastic! - Teodora
• Wonderful night
Really enjoyed a fantastic night out. It was a great venue for 4 fab friends to spend catching up over a picnic & a few wines in fine musical company. A total spoil! A bit of a nightmare getting out of the car park - lucky we had been to the chocolate factory earlier that day so were happy to sit, chatter & watch on in amusement. Great venue & thanks for the big, beautiful moon. - Trish Tolland

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. From the time we arrived until the time we left, we felt very much like VIP's. The food offered was wonderful and plentiful, the wait staff and bar staff always smiling and pleasant, the area for the VIP's prior to the concert was wonderful. Our concert seats were the best and the performers fantastic - Mick Hucknell has the most marvellous voice. The VIP parking area was well thought out and we had no problems either on arrival or departure. We are certainly looking forward to attending more events as VIP's. WELL DONE SANDALFORD AND ORGANISERS!!! AAA++:):):) - Denise Ball
• Simply the Best!
What a fantastic performance. To me simply Red are still the best all time band I,ve seen perform. I've been to every concert in Perth and Mick still sings every song just like the record and the band is awesome. They will be missed big time! Your so sexy Mick Hucknell.......... Leaving the venue though was a nightmare. Really disorganized. Too many young kids standing around unable to guide cars because it was every car for itself, people were getting aggressive. That needs to be sorted. Anyway the concert was fantastic as most will agree? - Rachel Donkin
• Simply Red
Simply Red were amazing as always, and so was venue, wine and food. Had a fantastic night, but a suggestion please can you notify us when tickets go on sale if dancing is allowed in seating areas. Bought GA tickets this time as dancing was strictly not allowed at Ronan Keating, and this time dancing area was WAY further back and dancing was allowed in seating areas!! Very confused! Thanks for a fantastic concert Mick - best live performers ever!(5th time of seeing them!), and thanks for bringing them Sandalford.:) - Jane

The night was fantastic and Simply Red was perfect! The venue is great because we could take our own picnic and had lots of room to spread out. The only problem was that it was a windy night and the sound tended to carry in the other direction (we were at the back) so it wasnt very loud. Also the shuttle buses to take us back to Midland didnt come for a long time and by this time we were cold and dirty! But other than that, the night went off without a hitch :) - Fish

I went with my sister, ny daughter and my friend. We LOVED the concert. The band was awesome we danced the night away to amazing songs from the past and present. Best concert we have attended this year and the winery was a brilliant venue. Could not have been better. We got the shuttle bus from Midland which was very convenient and made the night simple and easy. - Trish Carton

I first saw Simply Red at the Hammersmith Odean in London and paid 50 pence entry. It was good value then and was still good value at the weekend. I can't believe its been 25 years - but there's one thing for sure - Thet have bowed out whilst at their peak and will never be remembered as "Once having been quite good...." but always be remembered for having been "Brilliant!" - Jackie
• Red Devil
Well things dont change with this little red devil he just gets better, like a good red wine he ages with grace and pallet. Just had the best time, danced along with Mick to his great songs and Stars as always was the high light for me, thank you for coming to Perth, we dont get enough of the real talent. Money is never to tight to metion when going to see this class act.:) - Liz Lennox
• Simply REd
The bass was far too loud for Marcia Hines (as it was also for Tom Jones - I had to leave Tom Jones early because of the excess bass - very disappointing after paying for two of us to be in Gold Class A2 reserve seats). FOrtunately the bass was not as loud for Simply Red, although still too loud, and the sound was more balanced. I am not sure why your music mixers love so much bass; please consider this for future concerts as I believe it not only detracts from the balance of the music and enjoyment of the audience, but is also unhealthy from auditory point of view. Thank you - Graeme Hankey

The concert was amazing, Prita was excellent and thoroughly enjoyed her songs. Marcia Hines surprised me as previously wasnt a great fan of hers but she sings so well and was briliant. Simply Red were utterley brilliant, Mick Hucknalls voice is still good now as 25 years ago and its so sad to think there will be no more Simply Red songs to hear. The only criticism was I thought it was a tad short 1hr 40 minutes just wasnt long enough but they did play all their hits and they were sounding terrific. I did read a Tweet that Mick suffered pollen problems while in Perth so perhaps thats the reason it was short. One down side was the price of wine, thoroughly enjoyable as it was, I wish it was slightly cheaper. Also getting back to our car was a nightmare. We arrived at 4.30 but by the time it came to leave 9.45, it was pitch black and we walked around the whole of the estate once before we had instructions from a very nice parking attendance that we were heading the wrong way! So please put some coloured flags up for numbers or something. Simply Red were utterly fantastic and thanks Sandalford for a great evening. - Di
• Parking Too Tight To Mention
The Simply Red show was fantastic as was the venue and the facilities catered well for the crowd. Micks voice is truly unique and he sings with his whole body. Unfortunately like in other people's comments the parking aspect needs to be better organised. You simply can't expect intersection lights working on normal traffic conditions to feed vehicles into the venue, you need to pay the additional cost of having Police perform traffic duties. the lit up sign messages were vague and we were directed to VIP parking only to be told to turn around and head back out to the traffic lights and park in the general parking. Lucky the attendant was so busy telling 30 other cars the same thing that we managed to slip the net and park in VIP anyway ... sorry about that ! - Trevor

Had a fantastic night - Simply Red were amazing! Transport from Midland on the courtesy buses worked well and at the finish of the concert there were plenty of return buses waiting to take us all back to Midland - very well organised. - Jane

Spandau Ballet & Tears for Fears
Spandau Ballet Reviews

Can we do that again. Spandau Ballet and Tears were great. 80s all over again. Duran Duran would be good. Cheers - Peter Randall
• Best Concert
17th April 2010 oh what a night.Best concert I have ever been to. Saw Spandau in 1985 but this concert beats that hands down. I saw Sting and John Butler at Leeuwin but without doubt the venue and power of the whole concert exceeded the Leeuwin experience. The bar and toilet facilities were first class and a shuttle bus from and to Garden City bus terminal made life so much easier. Congratulations Sandalford the first time but certainly not the last time I will be attending a concert at this superb location. - Bob Taylor
• JUST MAGIC!
The aboslute best concert I have ever been to from every aspect. Hat's off to Sandalford's organisational skills, presentation, amazing stage set up, top catering facilities, parking was a pleasure. And - all credit to a great crowd re-living the fantastic eighties era with two of the most amazing bands of the time both of whom were flawless. Takes a lot to get Perth audiences on their feet, these bands did it instantly from the first chord of the first TFF number - just brilliant!! Love to see Madness, Duran Duran, Human League, Pet Shop Boys the list goes on and being a Simply Red tragic have to include them too but the magic of this night will last forever. Thanks for the memory Sandalford. - Sue Oliver
• Spandau Ballet
What a great night! It was seriously the BEST concert I have been to in over twenty years. A crowd of us danced and sang our way through two great bands. Wow, did we sing! I went to see AC/DC in March but I lost my voice with SB. We all sang SB songs on the bus going home. It just was the BEST. - Colin
• Spandau
We had a brilliant evening! The venue was ideal, we couldn't have wished for better weather and Spandau Ballet did not disappoint - they were awesome!! Despite feeling our age when the band said it had been 25 years since their last performance in Perth (!), the crowd made sure it would be a memorable evening, everyone was in great form singing and bopping along all night. Facilities at Sandalford were great and we made use of the well arranged public transport options. Oh and the Sauv Blanc went down really well too! - Mel
• ...
Fantastic night. I saw them in 1985 and they were brilliant and they were brilliant again today. Much better venue than the Burswood, very relaxing and enjoyable a fun night out. The crowd was really well behaved as well, good to see people have good clean fun! - Marie Italiano
• What a great event!
This was a truly outstanding event in every way. My wife and I drove to Midland train station, parked and got straight on a shuttle bus to Sandalford. Both Spandau Ballet and Tears for Fears were sensational: Tony Hadley's voice is as good as it was 25 years ago. The sound production quality was superb. At the close of the show, we took in that great fireworks display, walked straight to another shuttel bus to get us back to Midland train station and we were home in North Perth 47 minutes after the concert ended. A great venue in every respect. - Steve
• Spandau Ballet
Wow what a night am a massive fan off Spandau and what an excellent night congratulations to Sandalford for putting such a show tears for fears were very good, but Spandau were better well done Tony you sound as good as you did in 1980 welcome back boys - Chris Gibbs
• The BEST BY FAR
We go to a lot of concerts (nostalgic concert tragics) - this has to be up there with the Best! SB and TFF were better than ever - our son is a local muso and he was blown away - he was only about 10 when these guys were huge. I am still reliving the night - we had great seats and the weather played its part. Bring 'em back I say.....one criticism was the getaway at the end. Need to have some direction and order pls! - Norma O'Neil
• Stunning trip down memory lane
Congratulations on a memorable evening. I attended with 3 friends all with varying degrees of nostalgic memories of both Tears for Fears and Spandau Ballet however from the moment Spandau Ballet stepped on stage all the memories and good times came flooding back. I had forgotten how good they were live; having seen them back in Perth in '85. Stunning end with the fireworks, the fireworks should be. Congratulations and thank you - Fleur Allen
• What's not to love about Spandau Ballet !
An exceptional night, and to those that have asked me since what I thought of the show, I simply say "it was a magical evening". TFF for terrific, and I enjoyed them very much. However, when Spandau came on, it was spine-tingling, watching the prelude on the screen, and then seeing them all standing behind the curtain, in unison, that was a 'wow' moment! Spandau sounded fantastic, they have managed to recreate the magic. I saw them in May 1985, and I was way up the back of the Entertainment Centre for that one... so to be sitting on the grass, fresh air, and seeing such a spectular show, I loved every single minute of it. I sang myself hoarse! I thought the whole night was very well organised, and the fireworks at the end just topped off a wonderful experience! - Sandra
• Great Night !!
Went to Sandalford for my birthday, and had such a great night . TFF and Spandau Ballet were unbelievably good, and so is the venue . Had no problems getting in or out, i think it is all in the timing of when you exit, and we did pretty quickly . Only thing is you ran out of Champers at about 6pm, how the heck could you let that happen ??? And the prices for wine and champs were over the top, but we all expected they would be so we cashed up !! All in all we had a brilliant night, cant wait for the next concert.... Thanks ;D;D;D - Kate
• ...
My first event at Sandalford...a beautiful venue, excellent sound and view of the stage. Tears for Fears and Spandau Ballet were absolutely fantastic, couldn't have asked for a better experience. The parking as we left was another story, cars attempting to exit from every direction, no marshals in sight - total chaos. - Susan Atkins
• Absolutely Awesome!!!
Firstly I would like to give praise to the venue. If I hadn't been to Sandalford just recently for wine tasting I would have expected the setup to consist of a basic amphitheatre for the stage. I was absolutely amazed at the seriousness of the stage setup, very professional. Beautiful location, the best I've been to. Now to the bands, any notion that we were about to listen to a bunch of has-beens were blown out of the water when they started to perform. I agree with other comments regarding Spandau Ballet been brilliant but so were Tears for Fears. They reminded everyone how good the music really was in the 80's. Awesome concert, hope to see many more 80's Bands. Long live the 80's!!! ;D;D;D - Colin & Val - Roleystone

Absolutely Fan-bloody-tastic! Probably the best concert I have ever been to. Sandalford caters so well for all the patrons and they belted out every hit that I wanted to hear from start to finish. Well done Sandalford yet again...I don't think I've ever seen a crowd there so into the concert. :):):):):) - Kate Goldie
• Tears For Fears Amazing!!!!
The highlights: Roland and Curt were the best, what great sound and lighting too! Lovely friendly gracious staff, portaloos maintained excellent and crowd control guys great. On the downside: Stage could definately be higher. The disasterous exit stategy for the crowd in cars bought the whole mood of the night way down-surely you can do better in that department!!!??? - Cindy
• ...
I took my 12 year old daughter along and we had a ball. Absolutely fantastic can't believe its 25 years and they still can deliver a fantastic brilliant performance, both spandau ballet and tears for fears. Come back again boys, well done. I just wanted to live in the moment saturday nite and never wanted it to end!!!! - Mrs M Parker
• OMG
Totally agree with most comments!(Exit Strategy). I'm in my early 40's and dragged my wife along, in her well late 20's and even she loved the concert! I thought of the concert as a once in a lifetime opportunity!(our 1st visit to sandalford's winery). On a promotional issue, we live in Bunbury and I heard of the concert by sheer chance while surfing the net! These artists should be more widely advertised to attract an audience such as me who is willing to drive an hour or two and seek accomodation in Perth.(try HOT FM?) Anyway, thankyou so much for organising such a great event! PS is the DVD readily available? We'd love a copy for our Civic Video store in Harvey!;D - Darrin Bennett
• ...
Just wanted to say I have only been to a few concerts at Sandalford and they where all fantastic, the setting is beautiful, the atmosphere is laid back and the artists have been fantastic...Spandau Ballet and Tears For Fears put on a great show, loved them both..I also attended Tina Arena and Ronan Keating and that was another awesome night. I have no issues with parking as my hubby drops us off and picks us up..easy!! One thing that took me by surprise was that at the Ronan concert people only danced in the aisle , not infront of those seated on the grass...but at the Spandau Ballet people just stood and danced in front of everyone..so it may be a good idea to have half only seated and the other half for dancing...We moved up the back and danced all night, but there was those that where slightly older and needed to sit...Please bring Depeche mode to Sandalford x o x - Karen
• Great Bands
I would prbably classify as one of those "fuddy duddies" someone described. I'm not - my husband and I had a ball, I took him because Spandau Ballet is one of his favourite groups. We travelled a road trip of over 900kms to be there. I bought seats at the front. My husband is very ill and could not stand all night. And yet people were allowed to leave there seats and dance in the aisles - he could see nothing. I was constantly abused and ignored when I asked people to please move. Please Sandalford - have a designated dancing area. I love dancing, so did my husband - he can't now but of course you need to dance at a concert, just not in front of seated people. Please. Also the two totally drunk women behind us spoilt it somewhat - they didn't like Tears for Fears so screamed and yelled all the way through it then fell all over the place later when trying to dance. So please think - not all people who are seated are fuddy duddies. - AR

• Awesome night.. but next time leave Barnesy at home
Had an awesome night at the Motown event - was great to hear the classics once again - next time though, leave Jimmy Barnes at home - he sounded like chalk on a blackboard and wouldn't know how to sing if his life depended on it - all he can do is scream - and his daughter followed suit! - Jesse
• Cue jumpers
I thought the Motown concert was fantastic but I wasn't happy with the traffic management of getting into the grounds or out. We left home at approx 4:50 pm and we weren't that far away and traffic was crawling along at snails pace; it took well over an hour and a half (or more) to get into the grounds. We finally got into the grounds at 6:50 pm. That's nearly two hours!!! It took even longer to get out. There were a lot of very rude people trying to jump the cue upon leaving. We'd been waiting in a long cue for well over half an hour and people were just coming along jumping in their car and trying to push in. It was disgusting. I couldn't believe the gall of these people. The Leeuwin Estate concert is managed far better in comparison as it's a breeze getting in and out of there. I wasn't particularly impressed with the traffic management at all and there should have been either another exit or two lanes to get out!!! It's certainly put me off going again. - Karen Chopping

What a bloody fantastic night! The band pulled off the hit machine sound perfectly, and even the non motowners (Joan Osborne & Barnsey) were amazing! Thank you Sandalford! Keep em coming.... - James

Had a great time. but the smell was bad. We thought we were dancing on dog poo. (I know this is not the case). We are realy looking forward to Tom Jones on 14th. Sandalford is a fantastic venue. Had my daughters Wedding in the Oak Room, It was faultless. - Annette Currie

I have attended two shows at Sandalford and the whole experience of concert and dining is amazing! The beautiful outdoor setting with a concert under the stars is unbeatable and by far my favourite venue in Perth to see a show. Keep up the good work Sandalford ... 10 out of 10. - Anna
