Symphony at Sandalford with Vanessa Amorosi
January 2003
The West Australian Symphony Orchestra joined the international chart-topper Vanessa Amorosi for the second annual BankWest Symphony at Sandalford. Given the inaugural BankWest Symphony at Sandalford's sell out success, this years concert extended to over two nights.
The was Amorosi's first solo performance with a symphony orchestra. it followed her extensive European tour which included singing at the Manchester Commonwealth Games closing ceremony and promoting her second album "Turn To Me". Vanessa Amorosi also performed at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games opening ceremony.
For the second year in a row, the crowd soaked in Sandalford's picturesque surrounds, while picnicking on the lawn. They listened to Amorosi's hits such as Absolutely Everybody, Shine and old favourites such as Natural Woman, Light my Fire and I guess that's why they call it the blues
Reviews:
Back Seat for WASO
Vanessa Amorosi is not the kind of singer classical fans would describe as bel canto, but she certainly can belto.
Amorosi takes a shine to WA
Absolutely everybody at Sandalford Caversham Estate was electrified as singing sensation Vanessa Amorosi pumped out her diverse repertoire.
