An Evening on the Green
November 2005
One of rock music's finest; John Fogerty is a musical master. As the heart and soul of Creedence, Fogerty's visionary songwriting and skilful guitar-work produced an abundance of hits.
Unquestionable one of the true heroes of American rock-took to the stage to present more than 100minutes of band classics and solo material. The rapid-fire succession of three-minute Creedance standards including 'Who'll Stop The Rain', 'Looking out my backdoor', 'Have You Ever Seen The Rain', 'Down On The Corner', 'Midnight Special' and 'Born on the Bayou' had the 8,500 capacity crowd reeling with delight.
Just when you thought it couldn't get any better Foggerty launched into a two-song encore of 'Proud Mary' and 'Bad Moon Rising', sending the fans on the hillside into frenzy.
John Fogerty's music was the soundtrack to a generation of music lovers and his influence on artists in the roots music field cannot be underestimated.
Supporting John Fogerty were two of our own rock legends Mark Seymour and James Reyne, who fronted Hunters & Collectors and Australian Crawl respectively.
