All Star Australian Line-up for ‘a day on the green’ The national concert series a day on the green today announced multi-platinum chart-toppers The Whitlams will headline the next event at Sandalford Wines on Sunday November 12. The concert - the 5th to be held at Sandalford - will again showcase a great line-up of Aussie talent. Supporting the Whitlams will be the fantastic Alex Lloyd, popular soul man Diesel and crowd favourite Joe Camilleri and the Black Sorrows. Local blues and roots band, Toby will open the day. It’s another awesome line-up that is set to be one of the best a day on the green’s yet! The promoters are also pleased to announce that following the success of last year’s first a day on the green concert in Bunbury, a day on the green will return to the All Seasons Sanctuary Golf Resort this year on Saturday November 11. a day on the green promoter Michael Newton said: “We’re enormously proud of the way the event has grown over the past five years. We spend a lot of time choosing the artists and working with the wineries to ensure a great day for everyone. We look forward to another great summer of music at Sandalford and Sanctuary starting with the Whitlams.” Co-promoter Brad Mellen of Mellen Events said: “The growth in attendances over the past few years and the sell out last year – a week before the show, is testament to the fact that a day on the green has become one of the most anticipated concert events.” And how’s this for a line-up! Led by the charismatic Tim Freedman, THE WHITLAMS are one of Australia’s most popular bands, their bittersweet brilliant songs touching the Australian psyche both on record and in live concert. The new double album ‘Little Cloud’ is their latest hit, with Freedman continuing his master story-telling. With songs like their ARIA-Award winning breakthrough ‘No Aphrodisiac’ to their current hits from ‘Little Cloud’, THE WHITLAMS promise a compelling and always-entertaining concert. ALEX LLOYD’s four albums - 1999's ‘Black The Sun’, 2001's ‘Watching Angels Mend’, 2003's ‘Distant Light’ and the new ‘Alex Lloyd’ - have collectively sold nearly 600 000 copies. Prodigious singer-guitarist Mark Lizotte, aka DIESEL, is one of those rare talents who has immense popular appeal and is also a musician’s musician. TOBY, one of Australia’s most energetic and vibrant blues and roots bands, have performed over 400 shows in the past couple of years, touring extensively throughout Australia. Highlights have included supporting Paul Kelly, Pete Murray, Donavon Frankenreiter, Luka Bloom, Ian Moss and Ash Grunwald. Toby have released three albums and one EP. GENERAL INFORMATION: A day on the green is a fully licensed event. Strictly no BYO alcohol and NO GLASS. Food will be available on site or BYO picnic. Low deck chairs and picnic rugs are recommended. High deck chairs will be positioned at the rear of the venue so that they don’t obstruct sightlines for other patrons. No tables or umbrellas, professional cameras, video or recording equipment, metal cutlery, wine spikes, tents or sunshelters will be permitted. All bags are subject to a safety and security search upon entry. Any prohibited items will be confiscated. Once again the Kids Entertainment Zone will be running with children’s entertainers, face painting, story telling and other activities available for the kids during the afternoon. Parking is available on site with a gold coin donation to the hardworking parking volunteers. Shuttle buses will run from Midland Station to Sandalford Wines, Swan Valley and from the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre to All Seasons Sanctuary Golf Resort, Bunbury CONCERT DATES:
