Jeremy Oliver’s Annual Wine Guide

Jeremy Oliver is one of Australia's leading wine critics.  He has recently released his Australian Wine Annual 2010. The following Sandalford wines were included in this years annual.

2007 Sandalford Estate Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
91 Points

“Long, fine and evenly balanced, this rather polished and measured cabernet is one of the leafier expressions of this varietal, with quite a pungent aroma of intense dark plums, cassis and dark cherries supported by cedar/cigar boxy oak. Very smooth and polished, its long, elegant palate of vibrant fruit, cedar/vanilla oak and loose-knit tannin reveals pleasing persistence and some leafy undertones.”  Jeremy Oliver, The Australian Wine Annual 2010, Oct ‘09

2008 Sandalford Estate Reserve Verdelho
89 Points

“Fresh and juicy, with a light, tropical perfume of pineapple, banana and guava backed by suggestions of minerals and dried herbs, it’s luscious, smooth and creamy, with a pleasing length of fruit. Its punchy tropical flavours extend long and evenly down the palate, culminating in a clean, soft and slightly mineral finish with a lingering core of vibrant flavour.”  Jeremy Oliver, The Australian Wine Annual 2010, Oct ‘09

2005 Sandalford Estate Reserve Prendiville Cabernet Sauvignon
91 Points

“Ripe, almost heady aromas of wild berries, raspberries, cherries and plums with a dusty background of fine-grained, cedary oak precede a smooth, polished and luxuriant palate laced with intense, dark and minty fruit.  Jeremy Oliver, The Australian Wine Annual 2010, Oct ‘09
